Yeah yeah, you don't want to hear about it. But as an act of cartharsis I have to express my frustration anyway. =P

It is a pity, I love the chars and generally the world of Aion, but at late 20ies I am SO bored. I made a break about a week because I was busy in RL, and now trying to go back, it feels like a sleep pill to me. It just does not "catch my heart", and a mayor reason just IS the grind for me. There is just little interesting. A pity, I had hoped for more; the beginning wasn't so bad. But I just found wondering "do I want to know whats going on behind those hills?", and I felt only like "no, not at all".

Cheer mate.  I'm feeling a bit bored of Aion myself, but there's nothing else to play.

I'm waiting for monster hunter online, Tera, blade & soul.  Although 2 of those might just be another asian grinder.

And star wars is a year away.

Try a variety of games, there aren't just MMORPGs out there. Try some RPGs or strategy games. Here are some decent games: Batman arkham aslyum, Sims 3, Starcraft brood war, there are so many out there. Just search for some or something.

lol if ur not curious whats behind those hills u obviosly havnt been in a 25+ Asmodian Gank party ( elyos team running around raping the poor asmodians) . like seiously when ever i get bored im just like lvl ** "class" LFG 4 Asmodian ganking alliance, and i get a invite almost instantly into a group of like 24 people and we just go raise hell and its so much friggin fun , and then when that gets old i stand up take like a 30-1 hour break to relax and go back to leveling rinse repeat and mix, like im almost lvl 29 and ya its getting annoyingly harder to lvl like i need 4 million to level and its just like O_o ow my head... but really if u try hard enough u can get a level a day easily and then go gank some asmodians lol im a rank 6 with like 125 Asmodian Kills so sick... i forget what im talking about but u should keep playing so u can have more fun than ur having now. deal with the grind, so you can gank the opposing faction.. and the instances are fun too, TG is sick.. (eylos side) dont know what asmodians first instance is called

What game of this type doesn't involve grind?

  • Slashed316Slashed316 Member UncommonPosts: 151

I just dinged 29 (asmo cleric) and i still havnt really seen a grind. There are a ton of quests everywhere, instances to run and PvP to be had. I think the hardest thing for me is where i should be questing because my quest log has 27 quests in 3 different areas. Im sorry you guys dont like the game and i hope you find something that you enjoy but for the moment im loving Aion.

lol hey slash you havent seen level 30+ yet lol.

As I already mentioned in another thread, some people just play the same game in a different manner entirely. Which of course, leads to a different overall experience.

Yep, it starts to pick up grind. Probably something like 6-8 hours a level depending on your class and if you can get a kill in with all the bots running.

  • dreldrel Member Posts: 918

It has a lot more "grind" than I had orginally thought and is becoming boring with the repetition.

I would agree, i'm starting to get bored during the game as well. I haven't really logged in much this week, played today for most of the night and gained a few levels. It doesn't feel like much of a "Journey" yet, I don't really feel any immersion.

I'm glad there are people enjoying it though, god knows this forum could use some happy customers.

You aren't missing much.  Quests that were boring and stale years ago, no depth whatsoever, abysmal , head-splitting combat noises and ONE starting zone per race with only ONE quest chain.  The sum total of the boring game mechanics of every god-awful Korean grinder mashed together and then they had the cheek to charge money for it.

We'll have to assume that you are out near the leading edge of the levelers. Probably a different experience there when you don't have to compete for every kill you need for a quest. For the rest of us, there's a huge wall you hit at level 20. It's not so much the grind, it's the fact that there's 20 tons of players/botters and only 3 pounds of mobs. You can take hours to get a quest done when the mobs you need are all dead. That's one boring ass grind, Harry.

It doesn t get any better IMO. The combat system is a total bore, and no pvp no matter how good it might be (which it isn t) can make the combat system better. I said what alot are now saying at release. It s a boring game.

  • LeKinKLeKinK Member Posts: 899

I am also getting bored, I was playing 4 or 5 hours a day and now I almost can't play for 1 hour.  I was anxious to get to lvl 25 for the pvp, but now that I am lvl 25 I saw there isn't much pvp at all at this lvl and I need to lvl up again...

I hate pve and it's mostly always that..  I saw 1 band of elyos rifting so far, they got smoke in 2 minutes.  When I rifted I endend in some elite camp without any elyos to kill.   Fortress? All the mobs in there are lvl 40 and I hit them for 1..

I need like 10 more lvl for the game to become enjoyable but it's getting tedious.

Edit: Forget flying combat, the camera keep switching from side to side and you almost can't see what you are doing, the only way I saw to counter this is to not move while fighting in the air. Boring.

If there was at least 1 bg I would stay there.  At least there would be something to do for the solo pvper.

I am the exact opposite.  I am having fun in AION, but I also play other games, have other hobbies, have other interests and my time is spread out and with the exception of Saturdays can be a little limited for gaming.   So, is it possible AION just isnt doing it for you ? Absolutely.  But, it is also possible you need to do more then just play an MMO in all your spare time.*

*please see and understand the word POSSIBLE and its useage in this sentence.  Re-read the sentence a few times and try real hard to understand what I am saying, if you feel the need to flame.

People who reply with advice to guys who post about how much they are bored or how much they hate the game they are playing should get paid.  Its like they're all psychologists or psychiatrists.......How many posts have we seen like this about every new game? If your so bored out of your pants maybe you should get a hobby? a gf? a job?  a life?

I like how you start with criticizing those who simply give advice on what to do in these threads, then one sentence apart you do exactly that. Geesh your like some kind of psychologist or something

I'd just thought I'd join the bandwagon.  Cheers!

What i dont understand, is if this many people find the game boring and what not then why did IGN give it  8.5?

The discontent make the most noise?   That is my guess.

It's all opinion.  Some folks like it. Some don't.

Because its a different type of MMO. Its nothing like WoW or LOTRO imo. I've grown to love the so called "grind" to the point that I can't stand grinding out quest after quest like in other MMOs.

Some will hate Aion, some will love Aion. I'm personally having the most fun I've had in a very long time. :-)
