Whats the matter mugboy? I mean doesn't it seem logical that if that many people were just tripping over themselves to buy the game that they could find a publisher now don't you? I think Horizons sold about 35K copies but it was in stores, so was Saga of Ryzom. I think the Mourning devs even attempted by mailing out a CD without a label or box but still that is more than DnL is doing now isn't it?
Not slamming the game here just asking what to me are logical questions, instead of blindly believing every claim, some of which are patently false. And if they have told one lie they could have just as easily told 1000. We really do not know what to believe at this stage now do we?
I think the point is that the november release will lack in some aspects of the game, and it will not be actually a complete release. It´ll be more like "you´ll not have all the things we promised, but you can see this game is real, tangible, and you can start the economy, the politicis and so in Ganareth".
I mean, it´s a shame to pay when they don´t have the final character models, the final animations, or whent the political and economical aspect of the game lacks in some aspects, but they will let you to start th game. To modify the gaming experience of all the people that will come after you. I think that is an important reward.
After that, with the new characters, animations, content and such, they´ll release it in the stores (Don´t forget that they´ve been releasing the game with almost no money for three years, and then Snailgame gave them 3M for the chinesse version. It´s quite rare that they can´t afford to put the game in the stores with all those money, but I think they want to give the final version with everything they promised (And sure some more additions) to the average player, who buy their games in the stores. Maybe they´re going to release it in November to their most faithfull part of their community, to thank them the pattience and faith that they´ve been keeping for all this time.
(I really think this because all the money they now have, and the game they got before having no money, do you really think that they´ll release it in November for money problems? Maybe because they don´t want to give more time to their competitors, and if it made them release the game unfinished, it´s as bad as you think, but money problems? with 3M?
Some questions to ask though is what all is it missing? I mean if it was just one or two things as others have pointed out that is typical in these games. We really do not know what all it is missing now do we? The devs are not really saying anything about what will be present at this release are they? They won't even get one of the game sites to preview it or drop the NDA so that the beta testers can tell you. How stable are the servers? Don't have the faintest idea do we? And most importantly these guys have been working on this game for three years, and there is precious little in the latest screen shots that was not in the screen shots a year ago.
I mean everyone has to do what they want but if they are smart they will wait until they have something more to go on than NPCubes press releases and those so called beta testimonials over on the main site. When are they going to drop the NDA, the day after release, when will they get MMORPG.com or one of he other MMORPG sites to preview the game? Sorry but this whole thing seems to be too much of a "trust us we won't shaft you" deal and it make me very very suspicious of their real intentions and motives. If I was going to order it I would make sure it was Paypal or one of those pre paid credit cards. Of course we still don't know what they are going to charge or if they will accept Paypal yet do we? When it comes right down to it we don't know much of anything except they want us to finance their beta.
Oh and if was not a money thing then they would not be charging people to beta it, they would have a open free beta. If I were a more suspicious person I would think they are just trying top get whatever money they can from the fans before shutting the whole thing down like Mourning did.

November 5th is what us Naysayers are calling the paid beta, fanboys are calling early release. Devs have admitted the game will be in a pretty rough state then, you look around on this board and you can find the quote from the Dev chat. A lot of stuff in there about release for the dedicated and having a pioneering attitude. In other words prepare to suck it up and pay for their beta. No word yet on who will be hosting the download, cost or monthly fee. Store release is supposed to happen some time next year, they seem to think they can get the game ready for that with another 6 months so figure November plus 6 would be March or April of 2006.
