Gold spammers are NCSOFT

jessianjessian Member Posts: 277

Heres my reasons,

1) Blizzard themselves make thousands every month selling gold on Their websites,

2) Ncsoft in NA / EU have done NOTHING to stop gold sellers.

3) Try asking NCSOFT have they banned anyone?  Come on really?

Think, every development company out there that makes mmos can easily kill Gold selling, one, NO currency. Buy stuff with rep points.

Let me see one shread of evidence that ncsoft are not behind these spammers!

Try getting in game support to ban them. Cough cough, really think Ncsoft would?

So far on Kharun (new server) i have 50+ names now on ban, its a joke this. Why not just put adverts in your game instead!

They've rightfuly banned people I know. You having to block new spammers every day means they are doing something, but it's quite simple, RMT companies lose nothing, because they buy accounts in a fraudulent way.

  • jessianjessian Member Posts: 277

as everyone else knows, theres usually 2 bots that just appear every day

we block them it goes away for a few hours, but think. this is a company that has 0 stance on removing spammers!

    why?

well they are the ones that spam!

and sure as cookies in hot milk, will i spend more $$ supporting them

Seriously people just need to stop complaining. It's not that hard to right click and block everyone once in awhile after initial login and doing the same thing...

Wow, so using that logic how about you show us one shred of evidence that you are not behind the spammers? You want us to prove a negative, lol. Show me one shred of evidence that proves the ridiculous comments you are making.

They certainly are banning people, though not as fast as you would like. Just block the spammers for now. Seriously, it is not that difficult.

Does as shred of evidence include the blocking of character creation on 10+ servers to ban all of the botters and gold spammers? They took it down for 24 hours and while character creation was down I didn't see any spam at all. They are working on it and doing what they can.. only when the char creation was turned back on did I see a new influx in spammers.

it is my belif for a while that what the op is saying is a truth.. and that indeed NCSoft is behind the gold spamming paradise that is Aion.

Tbh i alreayd had some suspicious about it in Lineage2 aswel.. but at least there we could screw them and even kill them temporarly breaking their dishonest business.

In Aion we cannt even kill them.. :p

    Oh.  My.  God.

How many ways can I poke a hole into this troll post?  Let me count the ways...

    1) Gold sellers acquire accounts by stealing your login and password information.  Most of the time, you just hand this sensitive information over to them under the pretense that they will power-level your character(s) up to max level for a set fee.  Other times, they just hack your computer and get the information via keyloggers or social engineering.  Once they do that, they ahve access to all of your game account's items, characters, and can even get YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION and sell it to the highest bidder... like identity thieves.

    2) Game companies charge a monthly fee for most MMO's on the market.  They stand to make more money by keeping their customers, the players, happy and satisfied with their gaming time.  After all, we are their main source of income.  What possible enjoyment do we get from having to listen to people spam badly typed text macros?  None.  How many people would cancel their accounts and make sure game companies shut down the game if they are actively endorsing gold spam and criminal activity?  Everyone (in theory.)

    3) Every single online game has rules, laid out in plain English, about hacking and manipulating the game in some form or fashion.  The majority of the time such behavior occurs, the offender is banned because of these gross violations of the respective EULA.  Everyone who uses the software - including these spammers - has to accept the EULA or any other terms when they install the software (and when they log in to Aion.)  When you do so, you are accepting a contract.  You violate the contract?  Your account is banned.

TL;DR version: Conspiracy theory fail.  Go troll somewhere else; your stupidity is not welcome here.

They know RMT brings in more people than out.

One smart guy can make a working spam filter with little hassle. A whole company can't? come on.

  • XasapisXasapis Member RarePosts: 6,337

A spam filter should have been relatively easy to be implemented. However, to leap from the lack of a spam filter to NCsoft doing the gold spamming is ridiculous.

How about this for logic? If they are the ones selling the gold, why exactly do they need the gold farmers/bots? Oh, that's right, they don't, it's their servers, their code, they can produce gold from thin air.

You may not like the company and some things show a certain level of incompetence, but that doesn't mean that they are after the gold selling.

Show me one post on any EU / NA server that has people screaming their ACCOUNTS have been hijacked at all.

What you have said above is CRAP. NCSOFT can Create characters without SERIAL CODES. Come on use that brain inside your head, they do NOT need to steal accounts!  on most servers its usually 2/3 names you have to block.... Why not 100 names?  if it really was outside non affiliated RMTs why only 2/3 per day. why not create a new one right away.

Big deal they charge XXX a month, now THINK here, who would spend thousands of pounds to make 15$ on 1000 Gold?  And yes everyone would shut down their accounts if the truth be told. Isnt Gameguard meant to stop this? if gameguard isnt meant to stop hackers, bots or supposed spammers why arent NCSOFT telling us how many were blocked / banned. Im sure in the coming weeks after pressure on the forums NCsoft will say X Y Z and you will believe them.

Again this statement is absoultely rubbish. in it you talk about a EULA... where is NCSOFTS EULA regarding SPAM free servers. Mmm why hasnt NCSOFT been actively patrolling the servers banning these spammers right there and then.

On Kharun everyone there has stopped using LFG chanel, ncsoft might as well rename it, Gold spam Aka Microtransactions.

TL;DR version: Conspiracy theory fail.  Go troll somewhere else; your stupidity is not welcome here.

Not once have you posted proof my acquisation of NCSOFT a company that needs $$$ badly for upcoming court cases has 0 i will underline this bit...

ZERO IN GAME SUPPORT ON BANNING OR MODERATING Chat CHANNELS.

Show me where i mention spam filters?  seriously, question back at you....
IF NCSOFT is not doing it, why havnt they IMPLEMENTED A SPAM FILTER????
Oh thats because you dont get to read their TEXT!

Not once in my post did i mention anything to do with bots / farmers, bots are players / power leveling services.
prove to me one player actually can farm 10000s of gold in hours. non, players dont farm, all ncsoft need to do is keep creating players at level 10 or 5 (mind they have the tools to do this without questing) to SPAM chat
You may not like the company and some things show a certain level of incompetence, but that doesn't mean that they are after the gold selling.
hangon a mo, i never said i didnt like either the game or the company, after dealing with the vast mmo experience i have, EVERY MMO has developers selling gold privatley, first one i got real info on was Blizzard and 3 websites.
After 20 of our guild got banned for reporting those names.

How about you prove your claim instead? You're the one made that ridiculous claim with this hilarious thread, not the other way round. You claimed that NCsoft is behind the gold spamming? Where is your proof OP?

    Nowhere?

    I thought so.

How do you want to be taken seriously when you make such a ludicrous claim and then instead of backing it up, you demand others to disprove you.

Very well. I'll try and do the same. I know for a fact that NCsoft personnel are in fact alien in disguise, sent to take over the world. Disprove me if you can.

  • ElectriceyeElectriceye Member UncommonPosts: 1,171

Actually OP is right. And that's not all, NCsoft is also the mastermind behind world hunger, poverty, the extinction of the Maya and oh... this just in! As it turns out, there is strong evidence that NCsoft and NCsoft ALONE were behind the most recent global economic recession!

Then again, it may not be them who are directly behind it, but by not implementing better antispam measures they are indirectly responsible for the gold spam.

It's just too easy for a game dev to make RMT unprofitable. Spam doesn't exist without profit. Therefore, NCSoft must support RMT. Case closed. It's no big deal, lot's of players would play a game with open RMT. I'm not one of them, so I wish NCSoft would have let me know before I dropped my RM on their product.

  • nowrnvrnowrnvr Member UncommonPosts: 42

I really enjoy this game ... but tbh (too be honest) when logging in and spending 5 min trying to actually scroll up to find the gold spammers names cause your chat is moving at light speed from so many spammers its just simply wrong, if you log off for a min your back to the same thing on login , spam in your mail , spam in your tells and im not talking just hey come to w w w goldspammersaion for gold they literally talk to you first time for that in any game  /boggle , yes its partially cause some ppl are just lazy and want the best gear now so why not buy gold yes you ppl are the ones that support this ... I personally play a game to enjoy it for the long haul either by crafting or getting items as drops , it would create a more stable AH and item costs /sales but when you have ppl that will pay anything with purchased gold or bots that can play 24/7 grinding mobs or crafting with mouse click programs that have them at max crafting lvls its pretty hard to compete with that .

If you right click and block the spammers within minutes they have a new name within minutes, are you telling me they have that many codes to hack and if you go to the other dozen servers its the same thing with the same names spam spam spamming, I to have thoughts that NCsoft is part of this program and benifit from these gold spammers, face it its huge cash .  I also played Lineage 2 had two accounts and as one of the replys mentioned we had the satisfaction of killing the bots well untill they brought out their red to come take you down.

It's annoying as a new player coming in the game getting spammed to death in the /3 channel which is LFG , your new to the game and can't even ask a question because you have to fix your chat windows to remove that channel well if you know how that is , also trying to look for a group with that stuff is past redunkulous, you cant even talk to a freind till your lvl 5 so good luck on getting any ?'s answered unless your on ventrilo with friends .

I ask any of you have you seen any comment from them saying how they are actively removing these gold spammers and if so have you noticed a slow down in the numbers of spammers NOOOO.  the only thing you ever see is them saying that some players accounts have been hacked and not to go to other sites .

NCSOFT get your coders working on this issue if you truly want us to believe your hands aren't int he cookie dough!!!!

Wow.  Someone needs to lay off of the hallucinogens.

OK, Mr. I Want To Flame Every Sane MMO Player, I'll bite.

I remember one post on the AION official forums that three players have had their accounts hacked and stolen.  The original post named names.  You can look up these names on AION's website and verify that these characters exist.

And you're right... NCSoft can create characters anytime they want.  The question is: Why would they want to?  They stand to make a lot more by making sure their game, their servers, and the network they are on are secure and free of the spammers.  If you ran a game, wouldn't you want to attract players instead of driving them away with insane numbers of pop-up ads?

Oh, and by the way, GameGuard was removed from the game before it launched... because of people like you who screamed about it crashing your system.  It was removed because of people like you who don't understand that a smart hacker can absolutely RUIN YOU, drive you into bankruptcy, turn you into a criminal, and make sure you will always work in fast food for the rest of your life with a few mouse clicks.  You don't believe me?  Talk to someone who has had their identity stolen.

No, NCSoft does not say in the EULA that the servers will be spam-free.  They do say that disruptive activity will result in administrative action.  That pretty much covers the subject at hand, and every other game has the same general rules.  None of the other MMO games out there - free, paid, or otherwise - tolerate spammers or virtual currency sellers because they cut into their bottom line.

There are only TWO games that I know of that actively encourage players to invest real money for in-game currency.  The first one is Entropia Universe.  The second is Second Life.  Both games rely upon RMT for their income, and both games allow you to actually make money while playing on their servers.

One more thing... NCSoft has plenty of money from its other games to defend itself against being sued.  Try looking up their end-of-year accounting statements; you'll be pleasantly surprised.
