im not sure why im seeing all of these negative reviews by users on here for this game but its an awsome game, its the first game to ever pull me away from EQ, the only people who might think it sucks r WoW players and non-hardcore gamers cus once u get past a certain level its alot harder to level up and its not like WoW where everything is handed to u on a silver platter. its a hardcore grinding game so it doesnt appeal to mmo noobs or WoW players. i now have a lvl 28 sorc and im having a blast with this game, despite the annoying bot spamming but all u need to do is block the bots and the spam is gone np. this game is no walk in the park so u actually have to try and apply ur self if you want to level up and get good gear, and the PvPing is awsome, who wouldnt want aerial combat? i mean cmon what other mmo has pvping when ur in mid flight. plus the graphics r amazing they pay attention to every little detail and the customization is also amazing no 2 characters look alike. overall this game is amazing and anyone who doesnt think so has either never tried it or is a wow player/mmo noob.

Dont minds the trolls, their scared for some reason that a better game has finally arrived.
Look even a distinguish site like MMORPG.COM rated it as the best game ever released! Aion has taken the west by storm!

Oh.. there is plenty of things wrong with it. It is a mass-market Korean MMO, and for that it is very good, but that's what it is. If you like mass-market games, you like them, I on the hand, like depth in my lore, quests and crafting, and you're just not going to get that with a game like Aion.
On the other hand there are plenty of right things with it. That's the main reason it's been so successful so far. Retention rate remains to be seen of course, but things look good so far.
These forums are usually not very objective when discussing both the merits and flaws of games. A good deal of people do nothing else but over-inflate either the problems or the strong parts of the games at hand. There is no happy medium for most people and it's not advisable to rely on these opinions for purchase purposes. Better to research and try on your own.
Pfft, what the hell are you on about? Why would people be scared of a better game? I dont like Aion simply because it boring and feels like a grind real fast. Worst P2P MMO I ever experienced. Just my opinion though.
I'm glad the OP, yourself and others like the game but the people who dislike it are not scared. They simply think it's shite/dull/unoriginal, etc.

Seriously, do you think all games are not mass marketed? Really? Do you think cause Vanguard is a low population game that Sony would not LOVE to have the opportunity to somehow bring in tons of new players?
When you say mass marketed, what are you really saying? That the company advertised the game? If that is the case, then I feel really sorry for the games that are NOT advertised, and do you know why? Because then people don't find out about it, the game suffers from low population and sales, and then dies off. The game could be incredible, but suffer because of low exposure in the media.

Maybe because not everyone is like you (thank god for individuality). Different people, different tastes. And just like you have the right / chance to voice your positive views, they also have the same right / opinion to voice their "not-so-positive" views.

Yeah, most games where bots run rampant can just snap their fingers and bots are gone. Just like that. There were some successful companies who have managed to solve the bot problems, but as far as I recall, NC does not have a marvelous history vs. bots.

Grinding is applying oneself? See, again, people are different. To some, applying oneself means playing the role in a (role-playing) game. They will most likely not enjoy the grind. To others, like yourself, applying yourself means grinding away for hours on end just to level up. A question of taste. Not "noobness" or "being scared".

Hell yeah! Aerial combat is awesome! Although I was only in Aion for the betas, I didn't enjoy it all that much. Not the flight part, but the limitation on flying - gliding. But, if you love it - good for you! Again, glad to see someone enjoy their game.

Really? So anyone who does not agree with your awesome post and infallible opinion is an mmo noob or wow player? Well, I played Aion through the betas, have only played WoW for a month (before realizing that it wasn't my cup of tea), and have played quite a number of MMO's in the past, so I'm not an MMO noob.
What I am, is a person with a different taste. Someone who tried a game, didn't like it - and that was it. Moved on. Moved on, so people like you can enjoy your game without distraction. And interestingly enough, I could do all that without calling people who enjoy this game names.
You might wanna try it yourself. Maybe then people will take you more seriously.

Well if you like crafting then you'll be happy to know that from day one of crafting the items you make are actually useful. Not to disenchant but are something comparable to drops, and sometimes depending on your class, better than the drops. There's also tons of quests. Honestly, I think some people get turned off by the "be a seraph" concept. Otherwise it's a nice return to classic MMO gaming.

It is funny though that you mention WoW, since this game is exactly like WoW but with better graphic, less content and more grind............
So much hatred on this lol. I am glad i am sexy and intelligent. I wonder if some of you peeps act like this with women too lol. Anyway if Aion is such a grind what the heck did u all call EQ? In EQ u had to grind out levels later on. If u died u had to lose time getting your corpse and u lost experience that u grinded. U could actually gown down at the end of a prior level if u died at the beginning of a new level. I remember watching the bubs not even move a bit after several fights. The thing about EQ tho is that it wasnt easy so everyone didnt like it because they couldnt deal with the grind part. I'm feeling this from Aion also. Go ahead and play W.O.W with your level 80's that u leveled up in two weeks and go and hang out at the capitals and talk about the items u received while soling an instance. Lol
Having a blast PvEing & PvPing, no matter if it is solo or in a group. I could careless what other people think.

Great game. I wish I had more time to play.
Although I think the game has it's merits, I find the amount of time I can invest does not yield the rewards I want. I find the game lacking in uniqueness and what I mean by that is I feel everything is generic, there is nothing that sets my character apart from anyone elses. That and the constant gold and power leveling spamming drives me nuts..... and while NCsoft has done a bit to fix it, I'm not convinced they have nor do they really want to fix it.
Maybe the endgame is completely different, but I don't want to invest the time to find out. Too many games out there.

Been playing fro about 2 weeks so far, and as of yet I do not have much to complain about. Now granted my highest is 17 so I cannot comment on the ENTIRE game, but what I have experienced has really been fun.
This is the first game that has taken me back and felt like the old Asheron's Call days. To me it just feels like the way MMO's used to be. And after all these years it is kind of refreshing.
I like Aion but it is far from amazing. It's a good game but it has a lot of things that will keep it from being amazing.
Edit: Things like sub par environment textures.

Good if ppl like it doesn't bother me it isn't a popularity contest and no one has to swear alliegience to a mmo and auto hate the others.I didn't like it but I am not a big fan of asian influenced mmogs.Plenty of mmo's I like/liked that others cannot stand nothing wrong with that.
I think one thing people miss is the fact that grinding in and of it self is not the bad part its in how you do it IMO. If im hanging with some buds Slaying butterflies for 3 hours and were having fun than thats what makes the grind bareable IMO. Lol now if I was grinding them solo for 3 hours than ya it mite get tedious. but thats just the way I look at it. to many people getting anal about games these days. What happend to having F U N. and just to make it clear im not trolling/trying to offend some one or such.
It was fun in L2 pre-WoWisation. It's not fun to do that anymore.
