General: SOE Working on 4th Unannounced Title

In a recent Eurogamer interview with SOE President & CEO John Smedley, Smed revealed that the company has four titles in development for the PS3, three already announced (Free Realms, The Agency, DC Universe Online) and a fourth unannounced title.

For those wondering what SOE could possibly be working on for the fourth title, Smedley does offer some possible hints when discussing an example of an underrepresented genre in MMOG's, sports:
Seriously, though, look at a strong franchise like GTA or Killzone. They’re diverse, and permeate well beyond their target audience. We don’t have that in online gaming, and that’s what I believe games like The Agency and DCUO are doing.
I mean, do you see many sports MMOs? They’re out there, but frankly, most of them suck.
Of course, he could also be possibly referring to the PlanetSide sequel, which technically hasn't officially been announced.

My money is on the Free Realms like Star Wars game they talked about but either way the entire article made me throw up in my mouth and not just a little either. Whatever it is it will suck like every SOE game IMHO.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
"Smedley" and "MMO" should NEVER be uttered in the same sentence. EVER.
I'd guess Planetside Next (2), as an FPS it is a perfect MMO for consoles.
I'm betting it's a "Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew" mmo.
Edit: By the way, Smedley is fat and bald now. Use updated photos. Or use stock photos of Uncle Fester, they're interchangeable.
It doesnt really matter what fragrance poop they shovel out the door. It will suck, it will be pushed out way too early, and they will gouge the subscriber.

suggestion to MMORPG.com Stop using Smed's picture on SOE stuff...its just derails the thread.
aaaaanyway my money is on EQ3 (or similar game), Clone wars MMO (aimed at kids) or some sort of sci fi game
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
I dought it will be eq2 they are pushing a huge xpac out for eq2 in february that takes it to 90. If they do a 3 they just shoot theresevles in the foot.
Ummm well they did that once with eq, and swg talking about putting a .45 to your head.
i read in PC Gamer in the UK that Planetside 2 is on its way apparantly

Soe can never trust them again.. Don't think they can ever rmake a game I would even try again...:)
cough eq 3 and it will be a cross console/pc game. They hinted at it 6 months ago and also made some hints about it at fanfair.
It won't be EQ3. In fact they said making EQ2 was a mistake. They said MMO's don't need sequels, the whole nature of the genre and the games is that they continue to grow and evolve through patches and expansion packs.
We know they are working on planetside 2, which has not been officially announced.

The better question would be, is SOE relevant to MMO's anymore?
So many mistakes and bad press, the worst being everything to do with SWG, can SOE every recover(be trusted again) from the mistakes of the past?
But ALL 4 are for the PS3, so who really gives a crap what they makin!!
FreeRealms and the rest are going to be on PS3, so exciting because I don't have to use a computer...
Pretty good question, what does PS3 have to do with MMO's? Even if they offer the standard "1v1, 2v2 or 4v4" style of "online" capabilities, how does that translate into Massive(the first word in MMO)?
4 titles eh?
Think they'll be feature complete when they're released?
How about they focus on one really good one (a first for them) rather than 4 broken buggy ones (the SOE standard business plan)?

wow smedley saying most sports mmo's suk. smedley has no room to talk, i've played some sports mmo that would put smedley to shame like sat hmm mlb dugout heroes for one. if it was someone at blizz or even EA i would say sure your probably right but smedley has such bad rep i can only laugh when i hear him flame other mmo's.
