Correction, what matters is how the company producing and supporting the MMO deals with it.
Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.
past exploits really aren't that benificial, especially in the long run.
Yea people kicked mobs through walls with mounts and made a lot of money but they spent millions of gold getting their magic up and now it costs less than 50k and those people weren't gaining skill and stats. BTW nobody has a billion of anything in DFO. AV has mechanics built in to monitor excessive gold levels and transactions.
you get so much more gold for killing mobs now that those past exploits just seem like a huge waste of time.
Everyone whined about people getting max rigor in the acid pools but you know what having max rigor does? It reduces your damage by .5, big deal.
the only really bad exploit was the insta kill exploit with battlespike and AV wiped the bank accounts and banned a few people who did that.
apparently there was a dupe and this really made the sieges imbalanced for a while on EU1 but The Mercs who did most of the duping are playing aion now or lost their wealth when they transferred. Money is a non-issue when it comes to lvling your magic since it is so easy to come by now. If you know the right mobs to kill you can make 100k in a day pretty easily. back in the day you would be lucky if you could make 10k a day.
Anyway, enjoy slow and poorly designed pvp in MO. There will be exploits in that game too you can count on that.
It sux because its not even beta, but alpha. Wait teal its playable before you buy it. Currently, you only buy it to support, but you dont buy it to play it at full time(dont expect that).
But i can be sure that at the end, it will be way better then darkfall.

At the rate it is improving it will never be better than Darkfall. Darkfall would have to totally quit improving for two years before MO could catch up.

MO will catch up on subs. You dont know how many ppl already both the game to support it. And some of those will pay monthly at launch to support it even more. With that money, more feature and i dont think it will take a year after launch to add in the core feature.
Also, darkfall is a grind and thats why ppl are quitting. Worst then a korean MMO, exactly like runescape.
WOW grind compared to darkfall. LOL, wow is not a grind at all, i remember that i could get to lvl 30 under a weak and this was during my trial time. After i payed, i was lvl 70 before 2 months when it was BC so its not true that pl lose their life over wow. To be exact, i only played 4 hours after school and no more every days since i worked each weekends. I also had the time to go to my football practice.
Why darkfall cant be casual friendly grind too? If they fix that, the grind problem they will get more subs because even the official forum players whine about the stats gains.
Also the combat is really crappy right now. Hope they change it so its a bit faster and sharper.
From the videos I say, it looked quite intense.

Don't know what you are talking about as more people are joining than quiting. Just a personal observation.
Both DF and MO could get a lot more subs, by releasing free trial, investing more into marketing, putting boxed copies in stores, and so on.
AV seems to be happy with current subscriptions on NA-1, so free trial and box was only released in Greece.
I'm not sure what Star Vault is trying to do. The only server they've got seems to be struggling with current numbers (and I'm not talking about latest borked patch, but pre-patch beta performance) - but they are trying to sell more copies (Christmas promotion). It's either some clever plan, or just desperation to stay afloat. We'll find out when we'll see server performance of MO after launch.

They are not quitting. They payed, they played it and helped the devs testing the game and they waiting for the next expansion. They buy the game to test it. Not to play it like any game so thats why we say MO is currently not playable. someone like you should not buy it because you wont even try to support it by helping the devs with report or stuff like that, but your 70$ is always welcome.
You bascally have to see the potential on how perfect MO can be and then you support it and wait.
