Well to be honest i knew i was going to get flamed when it posted this in the Fallen Earth board. And I have played a lot more of the game since i made the review. I like the game I never said i didn't like it. I just expect to see a better mmofps game. And I know in my heart they could have done alot better with this game. I'm actually working on Ideas for a new fpsmmo that not only can incorporate all the features from the great mmos but also bring the combat from the great FPS games. If you have played Borderlands then you know the combat in this game is solid. But it dose lack many mmorpg features.

Jojo, man it's not about you like or dislike, it's about sharing misinformation that gets to me. I really don't mind if people might not like the game, it's not about that, I mean we all know not every game is suited to be good for everyone, regardless of that, it was about the misinformation you gave aswell like I said keep expectations realistic.

Even here you say you where expecting a MMOFPS, which again shows you do not have realistic expectations as the game never said it was a FPSMMO but a hybrid, perhaps if you went in with realistic expectation, knowing it wouldn't be a full FPSMMO you might understand where I am getting with this  "reallistic expectation"

Could  Fallen Earth be better, OF COURSE which game couldn't be? As a gamer there isn't a game I never thought that might do things better or differently, but then again I aint a MMORPG building professional but do know about technoligy only can do so much.

I hope you have more then just idea's and actually know how things might work with one of hte most complicated genre in all of gaming, cause lets face it idea's anyone can have or make, it's about how well you will be able to put your idea's to work.

I fully understand you want a MMOFPS, FE isn't that game, it''s a hybrid, really hope you get this now.

Dear OP, up till now you still have not explained, why you used 2/3 yeard old screenshots (from early beta, with the old gfx engine/build) in your "review".

Thus, trolling is still not outruled, sorry.

    DB

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.

Borderlands isn't meant to be an MMO, its meant to be a FPSRPG,  which turns out looking somewhat like an MMO as far as the skills go.  Its extremely tough to create an FPSMMO in an open world as opposed to instanced content.  You mentioned Tabula Rasa earlier which was heavily instanced and the hit detection was obtuse... was there ANY sniping at all?  Not that I remember.  Even the open worlds were instanced much like Champions Online is now.   So far, thats the only way we've  seen a successful FPSMMO. (Planetside aside as I don't know how big the areas were there).

Mortal Online is an FPS style MMO, however, we all see how well thats turning out.  FE is the closest thing I've seen to a hybrid FPS that works without being heavily instanced gameplay.  You can actually snipe in this game and it actually works.  I'd love to see a borderlands type of MMO, and maybe 2k games will get around to it, or make a large world expansion.. which would be great, but so far... FE is the best I've seen on the market yet.

The game might be advertice as a hybrid mmofps. But we all know that the core combat in this game is Fps mode.

They call it a hybrid so that they dont have people like me being critical about the FPS experiance. Because i bet you anything if they had fixed alot of the FPS bugs, and made it feel smoother they would have not called it a hybrid.

They HAVE indeed a FPS system in place, which does NOT mean it is a FPS MMORPG.

But then again you right man you absolutely right, I mean no question about it, since there is NO debating with you in any way. Last I wil add to this topic, should have done this sooner when I read Drakholme already adviced to let this topic die out.

Well, FPS STYLE gameplay is different then an FPS game, and in this case, simply, because you can spend most of your time in 3rd person if you want. A TPS is like an FPS in that it uses a reticle and has a zoom for snipers, and so on, but it doesn't make a FPS.... does it make it a hybrid because its a TPS?  We can argue what FE is and what it isn't, if you want to play semantics.  You can argue for days on these forums whether its a themepark or a sandbox.. as many have before.   If the game is enjoyable, you should like it for what it is.. which is a hybrid.  If you want to knock points off because it isn't an FPS but it should be, then I guess theres no contending with opinion.

Jojo, would you please take a little bit of time to update your screenshots to the current product?  For a "Review" you have certainly tainted it with as simple a mistake as using pictures that are not accurate.

Also, I understand that we are all entitled to our opinions of games, however, I have a very hard time accepting your review as an honest and unbiased one.  It would perhaps help if you could get the title of your thread changed to read more like "Hands on Opinion of Fallen Earth".

You missed quite a few aspects of the game in your review, including details on crafting that would be interesting to players looking for a new game.  Also, the lack of details regarding options for combat (first person or third person views) limits your views to being opinion rather than an actual review.

It would be nice to see, if you are truly trying to do this properly, some adjustments to your posting to include more details and the updated screenshots as previously mentioned.

Thank you for attempting to write something up on this game, but next time, try to do it more accurately.

I played the game well into S2 and I do agree with some points the OP makes.  Bugs, pathing issues are real and need to be fixed.  I too felt the combat was "clunky" and unfinished however the devs did "put out" that it was a Hybrid game.  Whatever it calls itself, I found the experience in combat to be boring and uninspired.  The games CS was atrocious, no response whatsoever to some real issues many of us were having with updating the client.

Now before anyone discounts the above as "misinformation", this has been my experience with FE.  In nutshell it's a medicore game with a few decent ideas.  Overall, nothing new going on there.  If it was F2P or had a lower sub fee I could see hanging around.

    Current Games: WOW, EVE Online

    Nevermind....I've wasted enough time here.

    Going back to FE now.

Ty, finally someone understand how i feel. I want to apologize to you guys for making the review that early. I did a few mistakes. I kept playing Fallen Earth I'm lvl 10 now and the combat is still not great. I have found plenty of evidence to prove my points about the combat were right on target in this game. Also The crafting is the best thing this game dose right. I'm sorry if I said it was nothing special, it is. I edited the review with information about the crafting and gave it a new score. One last thing, about the pictures I just grab the first pics i saw in google. Some of you think I put them there to make the game look bad but that's not how it is. If you have any newer pictures I can post send me a message with the link and ill get them fixed i didn't find any new pics online.

As far as i can tell, i've only been playing a week now so im no expert, but i agree, the game is not an FPS game, nor do i think it is intended to be, so i really don't know why the OP is so fixated on this fps thing, as for the rest of his review, it didnt seem relevant, which really leads me to believe he is just trolling for attention.

Well ,as you play the score goes up, that is commendable to an extent.  I think it would have been better to play quite a bit before creating a review... however I admire your willingness to keep playing.  You should consider hosting some pics of your own though.  You have about 5 -6 levels to go before you hit faction towns, and the game gets progressively more interesting from there.. if you've made it this far.. a little more can't hurt for a decent review.

Well I think I have played as much as I possibly can. The combat and over all feel of the game is very aggravating to me. And yes the score has gone up because I made those mistakes. The crafting and the tracker working did add to the game in a positive way. But as far as getting more than a 6 out of 10 I don't think it warrants it. I tell you what.. If I had bought this game and payed a sub for a month I would be pissed as hell. But since I didn't spend a dime is not that bad. I have experienced a lot of the game and as I keep playing it just keeps getting repetitive. And also the landscape sucks you have no sense of direction. They should have worked longer on getting the combat a bit more polished than making huge maps that have almost no characteristics to them.
