fixed the crashing for me at least, for now

awiaawia Member Posts: 96

For the part 4 or 5 days I've been "trying" to play. i can not even last 1 minute without the game crashing now. I am not near a town or anything....anybosy else experiencing this? I had open beta since the stress test and I've been able to log in and walk around alittle bit without crashing but ever since that patch came with the day/night cycle, it has been literally unplayable.

edit: after the March 8th patch, i have not got a crash (logged in and walked around for like 15 minutes) So yes they are making progress

lol, this is not a game it's a developer's demo. seriously, i like what they are trying to do with it but they dont have a 'game" yet. hopefully they can keep it afloat untill it's finished enough to actually be enjoyable.

Wow I was saying all this months ago, got banned from the MO forums and temporarily banned from MMORPG.com forums and now everyone is starting to believe.  Oh well, better late than never.  It's not like I was hoping StarVault would do poorly.  I was saying it in hopes that they would get their heads out of their butts and actually fix things or in the case of terrible systems, do some reworks.

Awaia, bad time for the thread as there will be an patch tomorrow mainly focused to fix the desync issues and the most major bugs, hopefully it will help with your crashing problems.

Also, have you  tried the fixing guides?

    http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/23734-optimization-troubleshooting.html

This usually fixes all crashing in citys and logging in. If possible, you could be a bit precise with your problem and I'm sure that the support section has something to fix your problems.

News Flash Gobwar, LAST patch was supposed to fix the stability issues.  When are you guys going to realize that this game is not going to be what it originally claimed it was going to be?

Actually not, please find me the quotes which have said that they "will" fix the issues, I have only seen that they will either help in the issues or heavily deal them. This patch is going to deal with em, most likely it will also fix em, they have never before stated that the patch will fix the major issues, like with the backgrounds patch, they said that this will remove a lot of the database lag as it did. If you claim anything else, you seriously are wrong as the lag was horrible before it, it helped a lot but didn't completely remove it.

You can burn me, but i wont die.

Gobwar, everytime they released a patch it was suppose to fix the lag/desync.  They have released about 4 patches in the last month that was suppose to fix the problems.  Gotta love your faith in this company as the vast majority have already run away.

Gobwar, players need to get out of their way and fix the problems themselfs just so they can play?

Its developers responsability to make sure it works for everyone. Its not this guy is the exception either.

I keep logging onto MO just in the hope it's actually a working game now. I hated the closed beta as it should've remained in internal testing in the state it was in.

I tried again yesterday after d/ling loads of patches and everyone was rubber banding and this is w/o many mobs and many players being in the world.

I do hope they get this sorted but (a) Q1 release is a joke and (b) there will be no miracle patch - I've seen games in this state before, each patch (if successful) will solve the problem a bit more.

It's a big shame - the game sounds excellent on paper - but it just isn't working and I have fears that SV, as a small company, is going to be forced to release soon for financial reasons.

Remember, if you have problems playing the game, its your fault.  The developers  are smart enough to include all the necessary updates in their installer, but since they did not, you have to go and manually do it, while searching through hundreds of posts trying to figure out what you have to fix.  If you are lagging, its your internet, it has nothing to do with a broken database on the server.  Its your fault

Everything is the customers fault with this game.  Even if every other game you have ever purchased works on your machine, and this is the only game you have ever had trouble with, it is your fault.

    +1

You left out how it was also the customers fault that the company sent them a dented box with a scratched DVD that couldn't (for a month) be patched to actually play the game.  And nothing else in the box.. just a DVD.. no paper.. nothing. Yup.. that was the customer's fault too...

The "improvement" couldn't have anything to do with the number of players dropping daily and the half assed " fixes" they implemented?   Everyone's been saying this database stuff didnt happen in CB, well we're close to CB numbers again.

Well, today I can run around around Fabernum with lots of people around me. Some months ago, I couldn't do that without a heavily freezing lag. But it can be better and I sometimes get the desync. So it's good to see SV have come up with some fixes, hopefully that solve the desync bug. We see. I have myself worked within the SW industry for 15+ years, sometimes it require several tries to solve things. So it's just normal. So chill down.

Since you're in the software industry, a big fan of MO and live in the same town perhaps you could offer SV some help???

I would like to help SV (if they had wanted my help) but I can't because I live in another town. :(

It's playable as a beta now, they don't have a lot of content yet and yes they have problems.  They should not of called it "open Beta" as most take that to mean stress test and then play.  It's not there yet and I think they know it.   But it gets better with each patch and it's plenty good enough to get in and learn the mechanics that are there now.   Oh ya, you can also give them feedback on what is wrong with the game so they can work on it.

I'm still thinking I could well like this one when it's ready to play, I'm not near to being gone yet.  It sure would be good to see them start making more games along these lines again, and to do that we need another winner.  I hope this one makes it.

You've worked in the SW industry for 15+ years and think that their beta process is indicative of how the industry actually does it? Man, that's a riot.

Some of you have no business being beta testers. If you have a hard time turning on and off your computer then don't beta test games, k?
