back in block A, after the sausage lake fiasco, it was relatively ok, when you just made free weapons and fought it out in front of fabernum.. oh I guess before that when all we had was the noob axe was even better.. good times. The very very basic engine worked more or less ok (was laggy still but eh)

MO wasn't crashing when I was walking around in wilderness.

But now I'm trapped in Meduli - I get NowGame.exe as soon as I log in ... 2-5 seconds to crash isn't enough to run away from there.

Just don't go there and you'll be fine.

Before the patch i couldn't play, now i can, so there is no reason for me to state something that is not true, so I changed it. And I have not even stated anything along the lines of "EVERYBODY'S FIXED!".

If they are serious about fixing crashes, they should stop giving useless advices about NowGame.exe on support forum, like:

"Kernel32.dll or Kernelbase.dll: General windows error, this error means you have a problem in your system and its compatibility to the game or vice versa, it could be bad drivers, bad hardware, hardware collision, lack of compatibility, low memory, incompatible hardware with game etc. there is no specific fix for this as it could be different for each one, unless its on the game side and then you would just have to wait."

Anyone who ever written software on Windows will know that's just bullshit, and in 99,999% of cases the problem is not bad hardware, bad drivers or hardware collision.

I guess I'm very bad beta tester, because I also don't have patience to use other helpful advices, like "reinstall whole game once again".

Nowgame crashs can be caused by so many things it just plain aint funny, as poster above stated.

Making blanket statements that such and such will fix it will help some people but annoy others...For instance some crashes were caused by the sound, some by textures and in my case it was Win7 latest malicous tool remover patch, why, I have no freakin idea, Oh and on Win7 having UAC on also causes game not to open or load if its in a bad mood.

So bottom line is, lots of little bits of bad code causing lots of different Nowgame crashes, I could spout negativity at this point at the game, but as of last patch alot has been tighten up, in fact I will now state this game IS NOW in a beta state, early beta, but beta never the less, and what these guys are trying to show is err well showing a bit more clearly.

Well, depends on what you mean with "bad drivers". If you meanthat it wont work together with the current version of the game because we messed up or just ignored supporting the driver (or hardware) it is not that untrue.

But it is of course not Microsofts, Nvidia or ATIs fault. Blaming MS is the oldest trick in the book, ask Dells and HPs support.

Still, fixing some crashes without causing more is always a step in the right direction, if you fixes some every week it will eventually reach an acceptable level even if that could take a long time.

As for the reinstall thing, I usually backup games once they are installed (and patched up the first time), it saves problem in the long run as long as you have enough harddrive space. Of course I might be slightly paranoid but I have a lot of HD space :).

They will never fix 100% of crashes for 100% of customers. Nevertheless "NowGame.exe" causing crash in "Kernel32" is not acceptable.

    What is acceptable:

    - "Out of memory" - either I don't have not RAM, or there are memory leaks in code

    - "NULL pointer exception in line XXXX" - there is bug in SV code - I'll wait for the fix

    - Direct3D function call failed - I'll check my drivers

    - Invalid game data files checksum - I'll try reinstalling

NowGame.exe just scares me as a potential customer, because I have no slightest idea if the problem is in their code, NVIDIA drivers, and I'm not sure if it will ever be fixed.

DF lost 350k players since launch - yet it still has some guys playing it. If every player who had quit DF would buy MO, Henrik would hire 10 new guys to work on MO, and wouldn't talk about money problems ...

Gaining / loosing subscriptions has more to do with actual quality of the game, than with some random anonymous guys posting "LOL this game failz" on the Internet.

350k?  Darkfall?  I think you added a zero at the end there.  I would NEVER believe that DF sold 350k units..

Thats because Pigs and Rabbits are HARDCORE in MO... Some of those Pigs and Rabbits levitate as well and the Patcher is a HARDCORE game in itself.

What's more funny is that people still think that when they are fixed, everybody is fixed.

The op said "fixed the crashes FOR ME AT LEAST", not that it fixed crashes for everyone. So where did you get this wild assumption from? Oh I get it, you just want to troll and flame random people on this forum?

I don't understand how this forum allows people to hijack topics, flame others and create multiple accounts just to hate on everything to make it seem like its the "popular" thing to do.

I can't even read this topic without seeing the SAME names in here everyday flaming others and proclaiming that every patch is a miracle patch. You were all warned previously by veteran MMOers not to PAY for pre-releases by indy companies and NOT to pay for betas, yet you people did not listen and now you are all upset and taking it out on other people. It's just a sad day indeed. That is the only way i can rationalize the juvenile behavior by people over their 30s.

The various people that troll these forums are pure comedy. The best crowd is the "omg its bad programming" crowd, who flips burgers for a living. They are almost as funny as the blind fanboys.

Sensible people know the game is in an alpha state, and with the recent changes has stepped it up quite a bit but STILL a long way to go, yet people continue to flame them for no reason at all other than to hate, lol. Sad indeed. One person has a positive experience, and they get harassed by the same haters attempting to ridicule them by saying "wait for the next miracle patch" yadda yadda yadda, just shut up already.

What happened to this website? I understand you can't please everyone all the time, but damn.

DF once had 10k players logged in at the same time. For every MMO number of current subscriptions is at least 10x higher than number of players logged in at the same time. Number of copies sold over the year must be at least 3,5 times higher than number of current subscriptions at any given time.

I'm pretty sure that Mortal Online already reached 35k sold copies.

Last year players in USA and Europe (not counting Asia) spent $4,500,000,000 on MMOs:

It's not exactly bad business. Even games considered "dead", like Age of Conan, still make a lot of money to this day.

lies DF never had 10k logged on at 1 time it can only hold 10k on a server

and if AoC is dead DF is buried then

IMO at current rate of dev progression, MO will be a good game in several years.

(yes i brought the game but will probably save my free month for 2011.)
