Terrible in-game community.

devout101devout101 Member Posts: 67

So I decided to do a wipe on my old 3 month character, start fresh with a human in Monkfield. Everybody claims how great this in-game community is versus the forums. Well folks, I'm here to tell you that it isn't. Now I realize that there are helpful people in this game, that's absolutely great. I've ran into maybe 3 people that were helpful or nice, the rest? Scum, people who have been playing for at least 2+ months or more preying on other newbies in goblin, warrior skeleton, and troll spawns. Just the other day, I had three mounted reds, in plate, one had an acid r30 blade, gang up on me in a kobold spawn. I fought as hard as I could, while evading them. Of course I die, not quickly, but I die eventually after bringing all of their mounts and one other guy to half health.

Another encounter was at the warrior skeleton spawn right outside of Copperdale. Many newbies train here because it's closest to the town, the warriors/archers drop all the regs you need, and if reds ambush you at least you stand a chance with the towers close by. Well, the other day an SG of Sick Bastages was at this spawn, and being an idiot and knockbacking me at the spawn. He would go blue, and back away, then do it again, and again, and again. I finally got fed up with him and decided to attack him right after he would knockback me (while I'm fighting other spawns, mind you). So what does he do? He kills me in 3-4 hits, hurray. Then he ganks me, and let's another guy loot my corpse after the SG had agreed to letting me loot his kills. I'm tired of being fodder for the rest of these guys whose skills and stats are about twice mine.

I don't want to HEAR that I should just keep taking this for 2 months, because I won't. A game is supposed to be fun, and I look forward to playing something that doesn't encourage griefing, which seems to happen daily where I'm at.

Don't tell me to join a guild, I've joined two, and both of them were like this. Nothing but swearing and naked women chat, sorry but that doesn't interest me when I want to play the game.

This game is supposedly SO hardcore, then why does it seem like these so-called "hardcore" gamers gang up on the newbies DAILY? I don't find this fun or amusing, I play a game to have fun and enjoyment. This is not enjoyment. I've tried to get into this game, and it's fun when I'm not getting griefed by some idiot who is hogging the spawn AND being a douche at the same time. No thanks.

Time to find another sandbox to play in =/

Exactly my point. I will not play another FFA game. This mentality of "PVP happened and I ragequit". You must have missed the part that the SUPREMEGENERAL of ANOTHER CLAN did this.

i knew not to play the game and knew the community would be shit and was never told that. PvP seems to attract the worst of the worst and this being a FFA game with full loot you shoulda known it would be that bad. the game will eventually die off because of the higher guys killing off new blood to the game preventing it from growing

You ran into a handful of bad apples and now the whole community is terrible? ROFL

Sour grapes it seems to me, I mean seriously who would think you'd be attacked a few times in a full loot ffa PVP game?

A handful? You expect people to deal with this the first three days of gameplay? Really?

    Will be updated later.

You never ragequit in DF! Man up, and walk it of. Shit happens, as in any other MMO.

I can guess that if had runned into me or any other players here, you would have gotten help and maybe some gear........would you have made  post here about how wonderful the community is?

We expect people who join a FFA PVP game to expect to die, yes.

On day 1. On day 2. On day 3 and day 36fucking5.

What makes you special that you think you deserve to be spared??

Now what would someone do to avoid being repeatedly killed in one spot ?

Pro hint: the game is a sandbox and the mobs you wanted to kill are likely to find elsewhere, also there are alternative spot with safe NPC city near to mobs if thats what you were after.

I figured it wouldn't have been this bad, but at least I didn't waste my money. I got my four months of enjoyment out of an awesome game, but I will not put up with bottomfeeders. Whar is a pretty good example of why I've quit, because there are so many out there with this same mentality.

Did you even read my post? This didn't happen at just one spot, it happened at every starter mob spot. Not just in Copperdale either, but also on Monkfield.

This is why you will never catch me in a ffa pvp game. Its common knowlage that PvP attracts the scum of the MMO community.

And those 2 citys are the only ones available for that faction ?

pro hint: humans can use mirdain and dwarf NPC starter citys too.

You joined human lands, the most raided noobie area in the game due to people harvesting 300 materials there before banking. What did you expect?

Scum of the community? I don't think so. Have you played WoW, STO, or any other game recently? Its worse there then in DFO or any other PvP game I've played. What that tells me is that you don't want to be killed  and only want to fight on your terms and can't handle being grifed.

PVP did happen though, and you did ragequit because of it.

It doesn't matter who killed you, what rank they were, what clan they were in, how they killed you, where they killed you or why they killed you. Those facts have zero bearing on your issue.

The game is FFA PVP and you knew it when you began playing, so honestly you have nobody to blame other than yourself for not expressing more caution ingame. You made the decision to trust a player who was already being a problem by knocking you back repeatedly and then you act surprised when you get killed and his pal loots you?

The minute he showed up and started bothering you, you should have exercised your option to leave and done your grinding elsewhere. Instead you chose to risk it, in the most hostile starting area of them all no less and you ended up getting killed because you didn't utilize good old common sense and go to a less active spawn.

You were entirely at fault and could have very easily prevented your death.

Oh, so now I must reroll a different race. Wow, you guys are unbelievable. Whar doesn't seem to GRASP that there is a DIFFERENCE between GANKING and GRIEFING. I've put up with this kind of behavior before in games, but it doesn't last long. Every day that I've logged in, I've put up with this garbage. I should not have to reroll.

Xipher: Complains about the PVE, and admits to macroing because he will refuse to participate in PVE.

Whar: Claims that I'm a carebear because I can't take the griefing.

Daarco: Basically, I should continue to play regardless of being griefed every day. Not happening. I sure would not if my gear was given back to me, the community would still be bad in my eyes. I don't succumb to bribes.

Malickie: Ok, maybe a few bad apples, but every time I log in? really? That's a lot of bad apples.

DarthRaiden: I'm not traveling HALFWAY around the world.

    Does that clear everything up?

I purchased the 1$ trial about a week ago , played the game for like 3-4 days and i can honestly say that every time i asked a question i got a reply in like 5-20 sec whit a wall of text answer .... if i needed help whit anything , someone was there to help.

I have not explored to much of the world but the game seems like allot of fun but sadly it's just not my type and from the looks of it , it requires allot of time to progress which is also not my type:)

But ye regarding op post , that is total bs , darkfall community is very good ingame.(do no about forums)

Actually, if you check my post history you'll see that I'm generally very helpful, answer questions from new players, and give advice.

But I am also REALLY sick of people whining here lately. If it's not the fact they need to develop their character, it's that they (OH NO!!) got killed in a PVP game.

If the OP had asked "where can I kill mobs at a low level where i'm less likely to be ganked?" I'd have had a totally different tone, and given him some advice.

But coming on here crying and stating that the game has a terrible community is just asking for it.

That is not the topic of the thread.

I said there were a few helpful people that I ran into, but most of them, not so much. I must be the odd man out getting griefed every time I log in. You can call BS all you want, I've been playing for over four months, and I won't put up with it.

    Will be updated later.

Honestly, all noob towns are raided by the so called "pvpers".  Follow the general advice, join a guild in an alliance w/ a town.  I did it, the ganking became bearable but what didn't was the realization that I would have to grind my vitality and base stats on some dumb trees or rocks in order to be viable in pvp.

Another game with great potential where you are forced to pve in order to pvp (and the worst kind of pve: logging mining)!

Pull up a post in the past 6months where I complain about the PvE.  The only spells I macro are buffs because that is actually a grind and clicking the mouse 1902357189592 times to level it up is dumb.
