    Unbelievable!

It's my fault that I get griefed. You can't be serious. Are you trying to insinuate that because this game is FFA that I should expect griefing?

Xipher: Complains about the PVE, and admits to macroing because he will refuse to participate in PVE.
Whar: Claims that I'm a carebear because I can't take the griefing.
Daarco: Basically, I should continue to play regardless of being griefed every day. Not happening. I sure would not if my gear was given back to me, the community would still be bad in my eyes. I don't succumb to bribes.
Malickie: Ok, maybe a few bad apples, but every time I log in? really? That's a lot of bad apples.
DarthRaiden: I'm not traveling HALFWAY around the world.

    Does that clear everything up?

You don't have to re-roll. March your little tootsies across the map to a different area.

Yeah, ok....some dude was being an ass. I'm familiar with EB, not the nicest bunch of guys. It happens. Go somewhere else.

never called you a carebear, by the way. But if the shoe fits....

What happened to you isn't griefing, but yes you should expect that just like you should expect to take it every now and then in real life by scumbags and people with more power than you.

I could care less about dying and getting ganked, what I care about is the griefing aspect of it. The shoe DOES NOT fit because every chance I got, I was helping newbies out. I have a set of standards and values unlike some in the game, and yes I do think they translate over into this game. I have a good glimpse of what the community is like now, and I don't like it at all.

Uhh, Kost, you must have missed the part about me rerolling I'm sure.

It sounds like FFA PVP is not for you.

Good luck in your next game.

All stupid options to avoid getting griefed, rerolling different race, leaving the spawn (which I told you if you would just LEARN TO READ) and go somewhere else. This did not just HAPPEN at the warrior skeleton spawn, it happened at every newbie spawn that I went to. Every, single spawn.

This just solidifies the fact that the game encourages griefing, and all of you are defending it!

First of all why you did reroll ? you can do pretty  much everything with just one toon. Then you must have been experienced enough to know the ins and outs of newby citys and third playing 3 months you must have joined a clan with a playercity by now.

The problem is that there isn't another game to go to...

Name a fantasy sandbox that isn't FFA, and has good elements of sandbox. I've yet to find one that isn't under development or has caved because of money issues.

    Will be updated later.

I rerolled because I wanted to experience what others were complaining about, the grind, lag, community. I don't get attached to my characters like most do, so it was no big deal to me. I didn't see this game as working a job, but as fun.

What I found was the grind wasn't bad in any aspect, it was the people playing the game. Like I said, I've been in two guilds, and both of them were focused on working a job, not having fun, or talking/swearing it up about naked women.

That's why I decided to quit, because I admit to not being able to handle the FFA mentality of the game, which all of you have admitted that griefing will always happen in a game like this.

I won't mention the reasons why I left those guilds, they are personal reasons.

    Will be updated later.

Ryzoms, Mabinogi (you'll probably love that one), Vanguard (close to sandbox), FFXI (not really sandbox but still good)

The one thing I notice with all things regarding darkfall is that the supporters and naysayers all have very strong opinions and almost take comments personally. This is both a good and a bad thing.

As for me, I am planing on getting the trial when I get some free time next week to see for myself.

No, I haven't had a full month under my belt on this rerolled human.

Try three days, and yes I was legitimately griefed. I don't play the "required" 2-4 hours a day, because I have real life responsibilities. I play mostly during the weekend, maybe 1-2 hours a day if I'm lucky. Like I said, it's fun, not a job.

Did you read why I rerolled? I did it because I wanted to see what the fuss was about in terms of the community, grind, and such. That's why I rerolled.

So let me get this straight...you wiped a three-month-old character and now you're complaining about getting griefed? I don't mean to be rude...but you reap what you sow.

When I read that I also thought "You don't wish to be in a game that promotes griefing"...yet you played for three months prior to this! Are you telling me that you NEVER killed another character and looted his grave dry? If you have, then did you not stop to consider how long he or she may have taken to gain all of that loot that you so happily put into your backpack?

Did you even stop to consider that your three-month-old character may have just killed a two-day-old character? It's impossible for you to honestly know for sure how long he or she had played DF.

Further, in your own words you refuse to do what is necessary to get back to that "competitive" level? You won't play 60 more days to level your noob? Perhaps you should have thought your character wipe through a little more.

You've joined two guilds but refuse to search for a third? If I may so humbly suggest, you find a third...and then a fourth...and even a fifth or more if necessary. You're actually taking the interaction part of the gameplay away from yourself (aka, biting off your nose to spite your face) based off of only two groups of people.

In your two examples, having friends from a guild that you were part of could have helped you out. But  as I mentioned, you appear to want to have nothing to do with people because "they're all the same!" (Yes, I'm putting words in your mouth but I believe I'm fairly close on that.)

It appears to me that you just want everything to magically fall into your very narrow scope of what you believe Darkfall (or any MMO for that matter) should be. You want to be left alone and level your character in peace. That, sir, will not happen...at least not in Darkfall.

You want a guild to fit into your vision of what players should be...which appears to be clean-mouthed virgins. Darkfall is a ruthless game but that doesn't mean that the people who "swear and talk about naked women" are actually bad people. I've played in a couple of guilds and even the women in those guilds have sworn and talked about naked women, but we still had fun because we wanted to...we went out and found our fun!

What you've written here shows that you don't wish to put that effort in. You don't wish to level your character and take the hard knocks that EVERYONE ELSE has taken. You won't put the effort in to find that group of people that you would fit in with. Instead, you seem to want to paint everyone with the same brush. I can't possibly see how that's fair to every other guild that you haven't been in.

But at the end of the day, perhaps the most poignant thing you have said is "Time to find another sandbox to play in."

My friend, I would suggest that you avoid sandboxes because you seem to want to have every  toy in the box and don't play well with others...welcome to Darkfall...and goodbye, we're both better off for it.

Sounds like you don't have time for MMORPGs period. Have fun in your next console game.

1-2 hrs a day isn't enough for an MMO that isn't instanced and not really soloable. You play less than a casual player IMO.

    Those are some serious assumptions.

For one, if you bothered to read anything I've posted, I have a set of values and standards. If I'm playing a game, I'm there to HAVE FUN. That is the point of a game, we can agree on that. We can also agree on the fact that I wiped the character to see the newbie's perspective, and am trying to understand why some come back and say they don't like it, and I see why now. Even though they get shouted down here at the forums, that doesn't phase me a bit, I know what the community that I experienced is like. I don't care if you think I'm painting everyone with a blue paint brush, if ANYONE has to go through that the first three days of gameplay, do you seriously think they are going to stick with it?

No player should have to go through that, ever. I agree that the player should have to "work" or "progress" in the game, working is not the right word. If you see it as working, then it's not a game anymore, it's a job, which so many seem to see this game as, a job that you should dedicate at least 2-4 hours a day. I don't have a problem with that, I realize that my character may not be up to par with those who play 4+ hours a day. This rant is not about "working" on my character, it's about the people who play the character. Did you miss that part?

I've done my fair share of guild hopping, and I think two guilds is enough. I looked after that second guild, and I didn't find anything, nada, zip. Yes, I do wish that people would exercise some restraint on his/her tongue, excessive swearing is not something I want to l listen to when I'm playing a game that requires ventrillo.

Like I said, all of this garbage that  I wasn't aware of at first is tacked on to the FFA mentality, and I don't like it. You guys are defending the garbage, that's fine by me. If you enjoy this game, that's great, I've realized now by this thread and by playing hte game that I don't like what I see, so now I'm moving on. Case closed.

For the record, I have NEVER ganked another new player unless he started the fight. Even then, I don't keep the stuff for myself, I try to give it away to others that are new. Like I said, I have values and standards, and they extend into the game as well. I even gave a red's stuff back because he didn't realize that there were guard towers nearby. Yes, even the gold.
