I think it would be great for CoH to sue the creaters of the Marvel look alikes lol It's those who broke their "contract" with CoH that started this whole mess with their lack of creativity... I mean when you see characters in the game such as Miss K. Possible (long red hair, green cargo pants, black shirt and gloves) or Princess Zelda (Pink outfit w/ skirt) and recently I saw an obvious blue/yellow old time Wolverine copy but with the name Badger... that's pretty obviously not original.
(And for those who look at Dr. Sara Bellam and think I copied from Power Puff Girls, I didn't find out about that character until in game someone was sarcastic to me... and a google turns up approximatly 6,000 hits with a different spelling (Bellum) ... ranging from Educational about the brain web sites, Powrpuff Girls, Darkwing Duck, Muppets, etc. and is not copywrited (not to mention the graphic is completely original).)

I think in all honesty that Marvell needs to take into account that the hero's and characters in the comic books are what makes this game so popular and imitation is a good thing.

Here is the dumbest thing about the whole lawsuit. Marvel states that CoH may violate future projects in the video game industry Marvel has yet to release or announce. That is a crock of monkey poo. Here is a good comparison...Anyone seen minority report? Want to get arrested for something you might someday do? How can I, or anyone, violate a future copyright that does not yet exist?
Also if this were such a prblem on the scale that Marvel is implying by going directly to lawsuit and skipping the "cease and desist" letter stage, why have no other ocmpanies got their panties in a bunch? Nothing from DC, Darkhouse, Lucasarts, or New Line/Tolkein for copies of their characted in Coh and other MMORPG's. My personall opinion is they know their content sucks and are trying to salvage themselves by making headlines. Like the man says even bad press is better than no press at all. Look at the timeline, November 5th Cryptic and NC Soft wind a bilboard award for best PC/Console game of the year. 7 days later Marvel announces the lawsuit out of the blue. Granted CoH powers that be have predicted this could happen and wrote the EULA to cover themselves in the case of a few fans going offf the deep end and making Hulk. I have seen those characters and its always been a low level player. I have yet to see one in a high level zone like Crey's folly (lvl 30-40 zone in coh) implying that CoH has been catching the violaters well before they can become a prolific problem. Just my 2 cents.
