Guess I'm Officially Old Now

Well it finally happened.  Remember as a kid seeing those ads on TV or in a magazine saying "This ain't your daddy's (insert product here)"  Well on this site, I just saw an ad for this glove that's supposed to play MMO's without a keyboard or something which states "Not your daddy's powerglove".  Wait a minute.  I had a power glove.  But then that would mean.... NOOOOO!!!

    OMG SO true!

I went to the mall a few weeks ago and thought I would have some fun playing the old Marvel vs. Capcom (love Warmachine in this one :)) and NONE of the machines take quarters or dollars! I had to go buy some stupid prepaid card! Then again I am from Vegas and remember actually using Quarters to gamble with lol.

Hey and do you guys remember when an 8 G hard drive was....HUGE?!  I was so proud of my 8 G hard drive!  That was one bad ass machine.  I could put several adventure games on it at ONE TIME....like Grim Fandango and Pandora Directive even!  Oh....and the whole Gabriel Knight series!

Wait a minute....I don't think I put them ON the hard drive....I think I had to run those from discs....and each game had like 10 discs (only a SLIGHT exaggeration, actually, as some had 6 and 8...remember Black Dahlia?) or some shit.....

I don't know.  My memory is getting kind of cob-webby.....

In the pre-videogame era, I once supplemented my chemistry set with a few items from my Dad's lab. That led to this dinner conversation:

Mom: There is an odor coming from the basement.

    Me: Sorry.

Mom: What are you doing down there?

    Me: Making stuff.

    Mom: What stuff?

    Me: Combinations of chemicals.

    Mom: WHAT chemicals?

    Me: Sulfer, charcoal, potassium nitrate

    Mom (long pause) Ok.

Me: May I leave the table? (exits)

    Dad: Honey, that's gunpowder.

So when I see people say that videogames make kids dangerous, I have to shake my head. Better that then the crazy stuff we used to do.

Relatively Recently (Re)Played: HL2 (all), Halo (PC, all), Batman:AA; AC, ME, BS, DA, FO3, DS, Doom (all), LFD1&2, KOTOR, Portal 1&2, Blink, Elder Scrolls (all), lots more
    Now Playing: None
    Hope: None

    Some of us still do.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

I remember playing pong when I was a toddler. Didnt know what video games were. I just liked playing ping pong on the thing. then I went over a decade without consoles. But I was there when it all started =D
