None of those and I would go for Guild Wars or D&D Online. These two are free and far better games. Much more fun. However, with that being said...WoW will be here when you are done and see that there are no games that can beat it for sheer fun and scope.
@ OP if you must play a MMO to hold you over to a Real MMORP like say TOR then maybe try your hand at the 30 day free trial to all that interest you and hey nothing venture nothing gain maybe even try the 30 day STO for that matter why not?
@ Teala good choices if you like WoW knock off and lets face it D&D is not a very good solo game. As mention TOR will be the next not be the Next WoW but instead TOR will be what WoW wishes it could be.
LMFAO! That last little bit I highlighted so we can come back after SW:ToR is released point at it and laugh.

Again I ask you what are your credentials for your rant?? Hey if you don't feel you cant handle a toon in TOR then by all means stick with WoW that has-been of a MMO LFFAO is right. Only real gamers will play TOR
Im looking for another MMORPG that I could enjoy playing. Here are my options: Fallen Earth, LotRO, or Aion. I've tried the trial for Fallen Earth and LotRO before, even though I enjoyed both I ended up going back to WoW. I want to give one of these games a try. I was just wondering which of these 3 are the most popular at the moment, and for the poll, vote for which one you like. Thanks for the help
heres the thing with mmo's, you grind upto max level and then get bored of the game once you've completed endgame content... meh guess im just plain bored of all mmos atm with the exception of EVE.
to answer your question if you want PvE - LOTRO, if you want PvP - Aion but be prepared to go through a love hate relationship in the Abyss..
Fallen Earth (when I tried it) was a decent enough game but felt lacking and I really wasn't impressed with Aion at all. LOTRO has a lot of lore (if you're interested in that) and (again, when I last played it) a mature and friendly community that isn't all wrapped up in the grind to be uber.
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift
You shouldn't join the one that is most popular, but the one that you like most. :P The three you mentioned are all popular, but completly different games. FE:
+ open world
+ one server for all players
+ incredible crafting
+ impressive graphics
+ lots of updates
+ great but subtle humor
+ lots of different areas you can start in
+ beautiful music and funny (in a positive way) voiceovers
* class-less system
* not too much PvP
* realistic graphics
- requires a good computer if you want to play with lots of details
- no race-selection, you can play only humans Lotro (I played only the trial so don't kill me if not everything is correct) :P
+ beautiful landscapes
+ great for lotro fans
+ narrated storyline
* pvp restricted to monster mode
- maybe difficult to find enough players in the lower levels?
- heavily instanced Aion (never played it myself):
+ great flexible character creator
+ focus on PvP
+ flying / gliding
* korean / eastern style graphics
- lots of grinding
- lots of bot using / hacks / bannings
- you got to pay in addition to the subscription fee for certain events of features
Just as a point of note, this is not exactly true for Aion.
At valentines day they offered for extra money some sort of special "you get some dyes and a nice outfit" package.
that hardly boils down to paying for events. Especially because they gave me a free Valentines outfit in my in game mail which I then trashed. If you are going to say "lots of grinding' then please do it in comparison to other games. I did lots of grinding in Lineage 2. Not so much in Aion. Heck, in LOTRO I practicaly ground out one level so it can be said that it exists there as well if you find the current quests not to your liking.
I can't speak to the bots/hacks/bannings because there have been bannigns, never seen any hacks and there are about the same amount of bots as other games.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
Out of those 3 choices I'd say LOTRO. Runs smooth, pretty fun classes and has good lore. It'll keep ya busy for a while, eventually you'll get tired of killing boars tho and quit like I did lol.
As everyone else has said it depends entirely on what you like. Try Fallen Earth trial if they still have it. Honestly, once I got through the tutorial, I didn't like it. In fact, my first two characters had to be deleted because they "took the wrong path" and got stuck in the level. A big buggy. Bu that was a few months ago.
Aion is a grind...a long and windy grind. But if you can make it past the first 25 levels it isn't too awful.
LOTRO is VERY story centric. If you aren't into that kind of thing, it's probably not for you. This is a Lord of the Rings game...the story is the primary focus...and many of the quests (depending on race) are heavy text. It is also what has made the game endearing to me though.

Well I recently left WoW on the 7th when my account ran out of active days. I decided to not pay for another month for a while until I feel like playing again.
Thing is, though, me and WoW have always had a love-hate relationship. I've stopped playing multiple times but always seemed to go back, because I'd try another MMO and always compare to WoW-almighty. It's really tough to get into another game after WoW, or maybe it's just me.
Right now I'm concentrating on getting into College for game design, and I've been researching all sorts of MMO's (which I my preferred game type) to see what makes them tick.
But anyway...
Judging by the critiques I've dug up on all three games, I'd say go with LotRO.
I've yet to play Aion or Fallen Earth, however.
LotRO only kept me occupied for an hour before I just stopped playing, but out of those three it's the one I'd choose.
I have not played any of them so I cast a vote for Aion, the game you have not left yet.
“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
If you want somehting new with the same mechancis. Aion, LoTRO, Vanguard, etc re the games for you.
If want a mostly PvE game with the same risk/reward system AoC is a god bet.
If you are tired of no risk-reward then EvE, Darkfall are the games to look at.
If you want a complete change of place try a sandbox game such as FE, EvE, Darkfall.
I am personally bored with the whole linear questline and tab-target PvP/PvE by numbers bit. I can't play games like WoW, Aion, WaR anymore. The PvP is stale and there is no risk....ever.

Boasting about a game that's almost a year from being launched is kind of ridiculous.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
I'd say LOTRO.

My advice is to stick to what you know. Are there any other games you've played in the past?
This statement is false.

It would help if you said why you were leaving?
Give me liberty or give me lasers
