Wow! I am actually on my floor thrashing about in laughter! This is going to be Epic!
EDIT: Quote from above link:
"It has been a rough ride for both the followers of the game as well as everybody here at Star Vault. MMOGs are never finished and we will, of course, not slow down with the constant improvement and development of the game after release. Mortal Online will release with the core features that we promised but will of course grow and mature with every patch"
Read as: "Game is not finished. We will get to it in the future. We need monthly income to do this. Please pay for an incomplete game in hopes that it will be completed in the future."

I tried the open beta this week, and while it does have some great ideas and a solid foundation for a good game, well it is still miles away from release status.
It is sad to see game after game fall into this trap, release too early and you're fu**ed and this is too early if there ever was a too early release. But perhaps it is like this with small studios, either release and hope for the best or just close the project all together.
Lol, how do you release a game when the launcher generally does not work, that's before you even get into the part where if the games starts you realize it is a 2D map with 3D characters with most of the logic processing client side, and has nothing in it. I mean, it has to be the biggest scam in recent gaming industry news.
bart seems to be working fine for darkfall. but lets hope the patch monday fixes the dysync issue
The comparisons to DF are valid but you have to admit DF was a more polished turd than MO will (prolly) be at launch. I never Beta'ed DF but started playing on third day after launch. Yes it was BAD. But at least it was playable. MO I'm not sure about. I'm hoping for the best.

You know what's great... on the official forums today someone asked when the game was going to release. Some people said it was listed as Q1 which meant the next 2 weeks or so. A Mod locked the thread and wrote a snarky comment about how those people were trolls and were trying to mislead new players.
ROFL
Well.. lets see if the same people, who said there was no way that MO would release in Q1 because SV was going to fix everything, come back and admit their mistakes and maybe now give a realistic assessment of the fate of the game.

I saw a post on the MO forums where the fan was saying "I garuntee it will not release this brokne" (he spelled that bad :P ) Help me find it.
The trailer looks fantastic though. So they have decided to launch and have coders from Epic working on the desync which they figure will be fixed Monday. . I guess we will find out.

After about 8 patches that have been released in the open beta, all saying the lag/desync will be fixed, how do you still trust Starvault to fix it?
The desync bug is just a cunning ploy so servers aren't overloaded and constantly crashing on release day. Come release the lucky few who bought the game will be raving how it feels like a completely different game and word of mouth will propel MO into MMO legend as the game that was finally the WoW killer that every MMO prophet missed.

The next WoW killer! lmao! I think the game has already failed and I wouldn't be surprised if the game closed its doors in a few months. Doubt that even the fans will keep the game alive since most of the non-fans have already given the game a failing grade.

Oh haha. . *I* don't. I think maybe having coders from Epic there might help. . but if i was a Dev. . I would want to know that it was fixed before announcing a launch date.
Starvault is close to what some friends and I did with a Sphere Server. . we thought we could do it with the knowledge we had. About 40% through we realized it was way too much work for a small team and we joined up with larger teams. . where we realized we had no skill in coding. . not enough to fix things anyway. . we could make the code. .and it was sort of what we wanted. . but when it didn't work we were not sure why and pretty much had to start over again.
I am sure they are better than I am . . . but I am not releasing an MMO.

LOL! Most incomplete game ever to be released! This is going to be fun to watch!
mmm ok, dont know what to say but I hope they pull it off.

YES! it's time to finaly release this game as a free-to-play AND free-to-download untill actually finished.

Then you can never play any MMO's ever buddy , but Iknow what you mean, IMO it's alittle to early they need atleast 2-3 more months.
If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

I wonder if the darkfall developers are scared of losing customers.
....
......
-cracks up and dies laughing-
haha, I think they will be getting more subs from MO's release

LOL I dont think its a good idea to release a game that is not even 70 % finished. It will lose alot of subs.
this is going to be so funny release day

Believe in Starvault! This will be the best game ever made!
Well.. one way or another we at least know that all their lag issues will be gone by the end of April...

guess the objective is to release the game at least half baked!
I think the devs are fully baked if they think releasing a unfinished broken game is a good idea.
I am sick and tired of MMO companies releasing unfinished broken garbage and expect people to still pay for it.
What exactly do devs do with millions and YEARS developing games?
O yea, brings me to my initial comment.....smoke up.
/facepalm
Seriously, I was hoping that this title could get some more dev time before being vomited out onto the public's lap.
MO has MAJOR potential....but right now, potential is ALL it has.
Mortal Online: The return of Dark and Light , should be the release title....
