I joined Vanguard again today, and all is well.  Sure the population isn't booming, but its still playable. Everything is running amazing on my old 7950gt (my newer card died), and I've yet to have a single problem. I've brought a couple friends back with me as well. So if you enjoy this game, and wish you were playing it, JOIN UP!

I'm basicly always LFG on my main Galhard (33 warrior), or my alt Varsala (22 Ranger). I have alts around 10-15 as well, and am happy to meet new people on any character. If you can't find me online just send Galhard some mail in game.

Just cancelled my subscription. Too boring with not enough players to do things. Even joined a few guilds with their "so called" 5 alliance guilds. And still have trouble finding groups.

By the way, wouldn't we have considered the VG launch a success if it was released today compared with todays standard?

I am giving it my first real chance and the server lag spikes are getting annoying.

I have a 8 disciple on seradon, I think that is how you spell it.

i am thinking about rolling a bloodmage too. If anyone is on one of those servers and wants to group up send me a forum PM and we can roll together.

I am willing to make my bloodmage on a different server, not the PvP one though.

When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

It would be great if they followed the DDO model with this game.

Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.

If they did it might at least keep the population up.  I think DDO made a lot more money after going F2P.

I want to try Vanguard again but it is hard to invest time in something that seems to be sinking (still).

Sounds familiar.....  I joined back --- went LFG --- realized it was going to be a VERY long and lonely wait/search --- unsubscribed and uninstalled.   I like the game but do not have the patience to hope for a few people my level to log in and be willing to group.  1st post --- yipee!!!

I have wanted to give Vanguard another try for a while now, as I really enjoy many aspects of the game.  I am even willing to put up with its many flaws, but I quit last time due to a quest-line bug stopping me cold in the tracks and also it having population problems.

Let us know how your experience goes.  I really want to give it one more go before it dies, but I need people to group and quest with, and I never had much luck with that in Vanguard.

Even when there are 500 or so people online on a given server, the game can still feel empty because the world is absolutely massive.  The best I can recommend is join a newbie guild like Platinum Order on Seradon for grouping opportunities until you hit 50.  Even during off-hours, they'll have 30 or so guildies online to group with.

Here comes the last fan(booji)boy :(

VG feels empty ? It's deserted, as a lot of other mmorpgs. (AOC: i'm a on free trial, saw 2 players on Tortage,) VG even in IOD you see few players, in telon you are completely ALONE. Tried to play many times on VG since the release, it's done.  Noone can trust you now, Vg's time has passed.

Had an account active on VG last month, I was ALONE everywhere.

Saw 1 player on Veskalls exchange. ONE.

ZERO player on Kojan, was ALONE on kms and kms.

    Saw 1 player on Tursh

Saw 3 players on Khal. (bank)

The CD is on the garbage. Right place. And my money stays now in my bank account.

Even in F2P I wouldn't play VG . Alone, can't play a MMORPG. Most of guilds are DEAD or stopped VG for other games. You can't find a guild because you see NOONE on line.  Chans are dead or not far. It's over now.

There' s no 500 players on line. Try to make a research, you'll find maybe 30 players ... 90% of them are level 50+

I do not know exactly how true this is but it feels this way to me.  I really wanted to play this game but I cannot find anyone anywhere.  Just cannot play a MMO alone.

If anyone wants to group up send me a PM.  If we can get a static group to level with it might be nice, even if there are only 5 of us online, as long as all 5 of us are playing together.

To mmoman1; played on halgar and i gave the exact number of people i met in the game. I saw 3 other players in Khal, next the bank of course, and lol I forgot: met 1 other player outside of Khal. I was alone in Kojan, completely alone and trust me if i say i'm sad seeing this great game dying.

Vg is one of the best mmo playable for an adult, but SOE doesnt' want to put money and devs on it. It's over.  Tried many and many times, i can't pay and stop 1 week after the sub. I can't play alone from levl 25 to 50,it's boring. Alone you can't do the dungeons, you can't have fun. Even the channels seems to be dead now.  2 years before, Vg was playable. You could find some people for grouping. Now Imo it's over.

The most fun in that game now is on the noob island you can start in. Its downhill from there due to the lack of population.

Its unfortunate, I loved so many aspects. I HATE crafting, yet enjoyed its system. Also, the card game from diplomacy was a fun challenge too.

Thought I would re-sub to check things out a few days ago.  Haven't played in a long time.  The Neamsog bunker area (which is a newb area that is off the trial island) had like 6 people in it.  I didn't think that was bad for a newbie area (one of 3 off the island) on a 3 year old game.  By no means is it bumping.....  I don't know any game right now where the is lots of people playing.  My LOTRO server = dead, tried AoC and it was MEGA DEAD, my WAR server was a ghost town.  I was playing EQ2 and that was decent but I just hate that game.  Someone please let me know then...

  • MMOman101MMOman101 Member UncommonPosts: 1,787

Like I said if there are 5-8 of us that want to play we could all just play together.  Yeah the world would be dead but there would be a pocket of people where ever we went.

Ball is in everyone's court, I am trying to find a viable solution to a bad situation.

You kind of hit the nail on the head for me.   I know Vanguard's population is not what it should be, but I enjoy the game and I dont see any alternatives out there.  I have tried Lotro, EQII, WOW, EVE, AoC, WAR, Fallen Earth but I did not enjoy them as much as Vanguard. I dont even see anything in Beta that interests me.  What games are healthy these days?  Probably only Eve and Wow, and neither of those games interest me. Even after 3 years I still have a fairly long to-do list of things I want to accomplish in the game.

Anyone up for starting a newb type of guild.  Not for new MMO players or even VG players but rather people who want to restart?

  • ForceQuitForceQuit Member Posts: 350

If we can get together enough people to form a guild and go through all the content I'd consider resubbing.  There would have to be race restrictions so that we're not split across different continents.

  • alkeoalkeo Member UncommonPosts: 24

I would be up for a new player guild.  I quit when they stated they were going to make the game more group centric but there were no groups to be had at lower levels.  I joined a guild, and sure some of the high members were happy to power through quests with me, but I wanted to take my time, explore and enjoy not be pushed through something as fast as possible.  If something gets formalized, please post the details.

I'm actually playing on Seradon currently.

    50 Disc - Hestria

    50 Ranger - Penddi

If you sub up and need help with anything, I can always mentor down and do things with people, or not mentor down and just blow through low level stuff, either way. =D

I highly suggest joining an established guild. Such as R.A.I.D. or Platinum Order, there are a few others as well. Always people online.

    See you in game!

Second night update:  within 10 minutes of being online we have 5 for Azebaj cave dungeon run.  mind you, this is like a 10-13 level type of dungeon.  Had an absolute blast, and crawled for about 1-1.5 hours.  There was another group coming in when we were leaving and this was at around 12am CST.  I don't see the ghost town everyone is talking about, but maybe it will change.  For the time being i am adding friends and having fun.

What server are you on?  I looked through your posts quickly and did not see where stated it, if I missed it sorry.
