If you get interest in a newb guild and decide to start one hit me up with a PM. I ussually play tanks/healers so I am great for grouping with.
“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
Well lets get one going then. I would be very interested. Don't really care to lead anything, but will and have before. Looking for casual type who are low levels to grow with. I met a few others last night that would prolly be in.
post your names so I know who to contact. I just activated a 90-day card I won last year at a convention. I cant remember my toons name, but I have a fairly low level cleric who would work out good for a newbie guild (on seradon)
I think his name was Ommog
*edit* just checked. Ommog is level 15. My next lowbie is Goregash..level 12. My highest level toon is my ranger Nikoh and hes only level 19. I do have a level 7 rogue and a level 1 blood mage? hmm
anyway give up some names and lets get the ball rolling.

I do not have a character on Seradon yet and finding names in this game can be a pain. Can you PM through this site when you start this up. I do not want to jump over to Seradon if there is no interesrt.
thanks in advance.

ya I could imagine. The games release was hyped beyond anything I can remember. I sat in IRC with a bunch of people waiting for servers to go live so we could quickly make toons and claim names. That was a long time ago and a lot of folks have abandoned the game. They really need to purge level 1's who've been inactive for a set period of time

The free trail accounts eat up names too. I think that is the real culprit.

wow, i had no idea they had free trials going on. kinda strange too considering its a skeleton crew working on the game. If they wanna spark some life into it, theyd hold off on the free trials and put a fraction of effort into updates
hey guys. my guild on seradon would be more than happy to have you guys join. to be honest, while anyone would be happy to hop on an alt and help a guildie most of the people are 50+ and working mostly on their respective post 50 grinds. we have had some lower level people join recently, but while having a couple people around your level is nice, it doesn't give you much help when you need to get into a dungeon and complete some group quests. having a static group together would make the game more enjoyable for you guys and our newer members, and having a number of veterans who can answer questions in guild chat wouldn't hurt either. membership requirements are pretty loose, so if you haven't already formed up your guild feel free to send me a pm and i can see what we can do.
i remember my first years in vg. it was hard doing everything solo. i can imagine it's even worse now with the lower population. i've seen far too many people join vg and quit a couple weeks later because they just didn't want to play an mmo alone.
I have an active account that I haven't really been playing lately due to the same issues that everyone else here has been having. However, I'd jump back in if I knew there was a guild forming with folks I could group with. Please post if this gets off the ground.
I've tried and quit vanguard over half a dozen times since it released. I had high hopes at launch but they were dashed do to tons of bugs, crappy technical problems and I felt my favorite class(necromancer) was broken (the last time that I played I still thought the necro was broken due mainly to the pet still not working properly at least for me) I could never find anyone around to actually group or even talk to after exiting the isle of dawn but it's one game that I would have really liked to have played through as the content seemed very good under all the technical stuff and I actually liked the crafting and diplomacy stuff also. The idea of some people wanting to start from scratch and work their way through the game together I find pretty interesting. I'm not a hardcore player by any means I would only be able to put in like 10-15 hours maximum a week and I am more into exploring content and all the nooks and crannies a game has to offer then any sort of power leveling so I would be a slow leveler but if there is a sincere interest to give this idea a shot I wouldn't mind jumping onboard even though I might end up getting left behind do to not having a lot of hours available to play.
I would play on whatever server you choose since I've never got a character past level 16ish I really got nothing to lose there. I'm on east coast time so if most of you are west coast this may not work as weeknights I would probably have to log off just as most you would be coming on but I don't mind soloing a lot if I can at least have a chance come weekends to get in on some group content. I'm not commited to any particular class either as just about everyone that I have tried seemed pretty interesting the last time that I played I tried a dreadknight and I really liked playing him but a gave up shortly after leaving the iod as there was simply no one around.
I'll watch this thread to see if you guys get something going if so I'll resub and see if I can join you if you'll have me.

im on est. time as well so no problems with that here.
I haven't played Vanguard myself yet, but I heard many say the game in itself is pretty good. So why doesn't everyone interested organize a party/guild and start at the same time? Even if not everyone can play at the same time, at least you would have someone to play with.

That would be so nice reijan, but the fact is that only SOE can organize a mass player campaign. We can't do this
Here is why;
The most that would rally on a site like this is 15 people at the most. All 15 would start aprox on the same day, some will start in the morning, some evening, some the next day. Some will be level 20 in 2 days , some will be level 4. No one will chat with each other and you would never even know it happened.
As much as I've seen post where people love this game but the population is too low, we could never solve this issue. SOE would have to take the ball, and they just don't seem to care, or at least spend a in dime advertising.
SOE often gives free time to their games ( the only rule to this is that you had to have an account with soe for any of their games at some point ) EQ1, EQ2, Vanguard, but in order to know it, you would have to download the station launcher and check it every few days. They don't even tell the public any more.
SOE has a zero advertisement policy, unless their releasing a paid expansion.
as you can see on my account creation date and my post counter, I'm usually a person who reads in forums for himself without posting everything which comes him to mind. But for Vanguard I would like to make an exception.
I bought this game directly at launch and loved the fresh new ideas which the devs brought in. Sure, there were many bugs and problems. But the basic concepts (crafting system, diplomacy, equipment expertise, etc.) really hooked me.
After about two months I left because the problems were still there (chunking problems, lags, etc.). I think I don't need to repeat the whole story as everyone should already know what happened to the game then.
But I still want to play this game. I really want to play this game, even after they ripped out some of the unique features like equipment expertise. It's my secret MMORPG love. Every now and then I create a new trial account and play through the Isle of Dawn. I even resubbed for a month last year with my main account. The performance is much, much better now as it were at release and a lot of bugs have been fixed since then. The world looks and "feels" fantastic and hooked me right from the beginning. Not to speak of the huge amount of individual races and classes. But there simply are not enough players to group with to keep me playing any longer than a few weeks. Sure, every class is more or less able to solo, but that's not what I want in a MMORPG. At least not primarily.
To read that I'm not the only one who thinks like that makes me feel sad. To hope that SOE would do anything to change the situation seams to be wishful thinking. But I won't give up hope... I would like to see that Vanguard gets it's second chance which it really deserves.
I know it's not that much, but i felt that i need to write this down.

Nice testimonial stibbons, glad your posting, and well put.
So just add another one to the long list of us that are in the same boat
I have posted my in game characters name: Vikin. Someone either send me a tell or PM me or something. My wife and I are playing roughly every other night on Seradon.

Been wanting to try this game out too. I will make a toon on seradon or whatever server and join up as well!

That only worked cause DDO is a simple casual game.
Vanguard by design is not, despite the new devs trying to make it a WoW clone and getting rid of all the cool stuff.

So it seems like nothing is going to come from the start from scratch guild idea then. Oh well.
I'm interested in the start from scratch still. I won't be able to start til early May though.
I'm interested too.
