That makes me pretty sad, but to be honest, I didn't really like the sound of A Sense of Purpose (except The Mirrors Truth), I'm still hanging onto Clayman and RtR.
Forget In Flames, the days of Clayman are gone - Listen to Dark Tranquillity instead!
You think I don't?
Yea DT>>>IF
New album "We are the void" was better than I expected!
But old inflames: Jesters race to Clayman is among the best metal ever made.
In Flames = overrated, that includes their early stuff. -.- If you want good Melodic DM check out Amorphis, Edge of Sanity, Hypocrisy.
Also, the people saying they hate Metal and think it's just noise probably haven't even heard 1 Metal album fully and listen to the crap on the radio and mainstream music. Shame, you're missing out.
Got to agree on that.. In flames is extremly overrated, never liked them myself, but i love the gengre.,, my favorits got to be Norther, Disarmonia Mundi, Before the Dawn, Blinded Colony and Scar Symmetry
Im a musician and love Heavy metal, neo classical metal, power metal, heavy rock etc thats my favourite genre of music, mostly 80's metal/rock because there is a HECK of a lot of talent, great themes around that time period, my favourite band has got to be Symphony X.
On the other hand im a musician so i love all music.... just a little less than metal/rock though. :P
Started playing mmorpg's in 1996 and have been hooked ever since. It began with Kingdom of Drakkar, Ultima Online, Everquest, DAoC, WoW...

And I swear to God, some people who've posted have gone out of their way to list and listen to the most obscure music known to man. That must say a lot too.
out of curiosity, what do you think it says?
To give my own view, I tend to think people who are fans of various genre will end up looking for more and more music that suits their tastes. That coupled with the ease of finding the more "obscure" acts via last.fm, myspace, etc certainly makes the musical world a lot smaller and easier to navigate these days. I don't really see this as people "going out of their way" so much as just exploring one of their interests. Anyhow, just a portion of your post that caught my eye and left me wondering what you meant by it.
Aryas's comment was probably (though and AoE) aimed at me. I do go a lot out of my way to explore music but not with the new fangled stuff - I almost exclusively find out about music from seeing live shows. The only other ways are word of mouth and searching the tour dates of bands I enjoyed at live shows.

i'm a metal fan and mmorpg fan. i don't listen to the super heavy stuff like i use to listen to in high school, but i do still like it. but its also not all i listen to. i'm a huge Mike Patton fan and his music alone ranges heavily from metal to him singing 50s italian pop music with an orchestra.
listen to Tool, Faith No More, Static-X,new Alice in Chains,Mr. Bungle,A Perfect Circle,Mudvayne,System of a Down and Tomahawk the most anymore.
Never really liked Metal all that much but I do like Hardcore. Mostly Im into Indie Rock/Progressive rock/Experimental bands like The Mars Volta, Tera Melos, Hella, Ghosts and Vodka, The Unicorns. I used to be into DnB and House but not so much anymore.
I listen to all kinds of music, but various forms of metal are definitely my favorite. Arch Enemy, Maiden, AC/DC, Amon Amarth, Nile, Cannibal Corpse, etc. are all good for getting the blood pumping.

I'm a huge fan of Disarmonia Mundi and Scar Symmetry, and I'll look into some of the others. Norther is a little 'meh' for me, I listen when they come up on Pandora, but they've not really wowed me yet.
Also, I don't think people have to listen to a whole album to know they don't like the genre. I can pretty certainly say I don't like teeniebopper pop without listening to the entire Hannah Montana CD. Listening to more of it isn't going to change my mind.

I disagree, it took me atleast 5 albums listens or so to get into Metal. Also, there's good Metal and the horrible stuff, like in any other genre, so it doesn't help if they happen to listen to the horrible stuff..
I don't think so. I love MMOS but i hate Metal. I am not fond of screaming and loud noises.
I'm getting sick of that. It's not noise. Go back and listen to something mainstream.
Sorry but its just loud noise, my friends have forced me to listen to mainstream and it still gives me a headache.
It conveys a message. Most mainstream bands are just losers who don't know what real music is. They're a bunch of little pussies. Metal is for people with sense.

Once again, it's not noise.
If you don't like other people opinion i suggest stay away from any kind of forums.

Lol, who died and made you moderator?
I don't think you understand or realise yet that us metal lovers are pretty much bombarded with 'its just noise' constantly. I believe that is you not liking our opinion.
OP asked if MMO fans = metalfans, i replied saying no because i am one of those who like MMO but dislike Metal, reason? because in my opinion its just loud noises. That was my opinion. I never replied to you, i was replying to the op.
You instead jumped on me because you have problem with me disliking your favorite kind of music. So yeah its ironic that you are telling me that i have problem with your opinion. No i don't care what you like, i am answering to OP not you.
Once again, if you don't like other people opinions or the fact that they like things different then you, stay away from public forums (one does not need to be a mod to understand something so basic).

The Chemical Brothers
The Crystal Method
Oasis
Bloc Party
Deadmau5
Infected Mushroom

And I don't really like metal or something like that , I don't hate it, but you would never find me on a metalfest.
I prefer music with a nice beat :-)
hardstyle,hardcore,terror, you name it ;-)

It's all about brutal shit, guys.
Defeated Sanity, Disgorge, Wormed, Orchidectomy... stuff like THIS! :
Oh and LOL at that dude who said Lamb of God and Chimera is death metal.
