I would agree with that, but I didn't see the OP make a broad statement about anything other than not liking FF13(his or her opinion) and hoping FF14 doesn't follow in the footsteps of FF13.
Not really sure a MMO can follow in the footsteps exactly of a console, but it is still a legitimate concern.

It's another thing to say "I didn't really like FFXIII, and I wonder if XIV will be the same?" than "I am disgusted at how bad FFXIII is, will FFXIV suck as horribly as it does?"

People make posts about their subjective opinions all of the time on these forums. As long as its not being presented as fact (which it was not), what is the big deal? So it sounds silly to demand "proof" for one's opinion. Also, by now, it is common knowledge that a lot of people are disappointed with FFXIII.

obviously ff13 and ff14 can not be in anyway similiar. Your going to control 1 character in ff14 and join partys not control a party for that simple reason nothing in ff13 can be like ff14.
Square was smart in doing 1 single player and 1 mmo to try and keep both there auidiences happy but they are completly seperate games made by different sections of square. If your experience in ff13 makes you not want to try ff14 well then your an idiot but thats your opinion and your intitled to it.

I don't care about freedom, usually I take a guide when I get that kind of freedom, I don't want waste time to find the right path. Also I am not much into mini games, still I enjoyed the snowboard game in FFVII, and the chocobo breeding, and also liked the cardgame of FFVIII.
I also like the battles, finally a FF game I died in many times, I actually had to think in this one. I always liked the combat in FF games, but this one was really challanging.
Were in other FF games the only things challanging was the optional bosses.
Anyway, everyone has their own taste. So that I love this game doesn't make it great game. It is just my opinion.

FFXIV isn't even out yet and no one *really* knows exactly how it will play; only the descriptions SEs' given which of course dont' really convey how it will be in action.
