If you're talking about good F2P games Guild Wars has to be up there. You don't pay every month and you get everything the game possibly offers without paying extra and you can go back to it whenever you want. Sure the instancing sucks and hell you can't even jump, but just wait til GW2 comes out and all of that is fixed then we will see which F2P game competes with the P2P ones.
Past: Can never go back to Wow. Present: Nothing interesting out. Future: Looking forward to GW2.
I'm not too far in the game, so I don't think I can make a proper judgement yet. For now I think it's definitely one of the top F2P, but there's a lot of talk of how Holy Lands is terrible and Fear of Death gets crazy when you're higher level.

I tired it myelf and for a F2P the game is very solid and I liked the graphics style. But if you want to get to end game you still need to pay like hell for it. Even though Gpotato slashed the obsurd prices in it's item shop the main mechanic I hate in this game is Fear of Death. I deleted the game specifically because of this 'feature'. As long as FoD is part of the system I want nothing to do with the game. If they got rid of it I'd come back, but they won't, because it's a cash cow.

Sucked me in too. Nice intro and then poof I back in WAR. Except WAR was kind of fun despite the terrible immersion. Seriously though, $15/month shouldn't be a reason to stop anything in life. Its like buying a sports care and bitching that it takes gas. That said I generally only play one mmo at a time, but thats more focus thing than money.
It's a pretty good, solid game. I consider it equal to Lord of the Rings Online, Aion, or EQ2. I really don't see myself paying a sub fee for these games anymore.
Would I pay to play Fallen Earth over a free to play Allods? No.
How about Darkfall, no.
Ryzom, nope.
Not for $15 a month when Allods is free.
So what is the future of pay to plays? Pretty bleak if you ask me. Assuming that the quality of future free to plays is as good as or surpasses Allods.
Does Allods have problems? Yes, the mobs are pretty brain dead. Two can be talking face to face and you can pull them one at a time. There's not a lot of variety in equipment and while the game is polished, you do run into the occasional hitch. For some reason my client causes a blue screen when I alt tab out. Customer service is absent. And there are pvp balancing problems that will no doubt be fixed with buffs and nerfs in the future.
The community? Pretty good. You get an assortment of people who wander in off the Internet to try something for free but most are mmo vets.
It's free to play, the only cost is the time it takes to download. Give it a try for yourself.
I could play 10 p2p MMos for 25 years with the cost it takes to max out 1 single character on Allods Online. Good troll though.

Guildwars isn't F2P but I have a feeling it is still a lot cheaper than playing allods in the long run.It is B2P (buy2play) so you buy it and don't pay any monthly fees or buy stuff for real money.
Still GW (and GW2) is programmed by Jeff Strain, he is the best there is and games like Allods (or most other MMOs for that matter) can only dream of a programmer like him. I played it for 1 1/2 year and never saw a single bug.
I agree, GW2 will wipe the floor of F2P and maybe of most the P2P games too. Allods do have it's good points and is an acceptable game but it is not in class with most P2P games and I am willing to spend a few extra bucks, I have the feeling that most players will use a few bucks to buy items in Allods anyways.
I dont really know, but isnt the game still in beta stage ?!?!!? i´ve tried Allods and i dont think its a bad game, actually it surprised me in a good way, theres room for improvement but still a good game, and i see alot of ppl complaining about how a good pvp´r needs to spend tones of cash on the CS, well theres alot more out there then bashing other ppl´s heads in, look around you might be pleasntly surprised ...
Cant really answer that ... im a pve´r, and so far i like what i´ve seen, plenty of quests with plenty of diferent things to do. As far as pvp goes you´ll be better off asking some else ... ^^;
tried it a bit! had lag spike (a lot)very few around (at least compared to aika <grin)so i dont see massive pve or pvp going on anytime soon in this game ,its just not made for it!

If they still have that FoD buff and you intend to PvP....
You'll wish you played a game that was cheaper than the "free" that Allods is.....
My first impressions of Allods were also good. I thought it seemed to be VERY high quality for a free game, that is UNTIL.....
I got high enough level to see that some of the things that were sorely lacking and needful....were indeed NOT going to be "free."
But if you enjoy the game...by all means....have FUN! That's what gaming is all about....FUN. If you're having fun....more
power to ya! =D
