I've played WOW during the Stress Test and Open Beta, but the problem is that I haven't picked one solid choice of class I will be for the Final. One reason being that a number of them were a blast to play.
Please tell me what race and class you will play. Also tell me why: the reason could be their class quest was really rocking ( I loved both the Shaman and Paladin quests ), or your choice is awesome in PvP, or your class is the most fun, balanced, cool, etc.
And finally, what quest was the most memoriable for you? The Paladin quest for ressurrection was one of my most favorite.
Thanks.

Paganchild,
Why an undead mage? Since I didn't play one I would like to know why you are choosing it. What about it just "does" it for you?
Since there are a number of choices with their own unique playing styles, I'm trying to figure which one is "right up my alley". Unfortunately I did not have the time to play all the race/class combinations out there, so I'm trying to get all the info I can.
So please explain your choice a bit more.
Night Elf - Rouge
I just like them.
Fahrenheit5,
During the OB i seemed to like the druid elf and the hunter class any race
i found that i enjoyed Druid for the playability and the fact that i also party with others alot easyer
everybody need a good healer in the party.
The hunter is good at soloing if you don't want other hanging around and you just want to explore.
My first character was a Gnome Rogue. When I went to go PvP i loved it. Being able to hide in the bushes and go stealth was awesome. Since people don't seem to want to group together, I figure that I'll be soloing a lot. And when it does come time to group, Rogues can dish out a lot of damage. Also the Engineering skills for gnomes are awesome. Once I hit 1G, I never had below 3G. At one time, the Eastern server was down, I mad an Undead Warrior to see what it was like. I got to level 5 and and wanted nothing of it. B-O-R-I-N-G. TO just mash the same button over and over again was lame. Yea, that's biased because it gets better as you level I'm sure but it just wasn't my cup of tea. When the servers came back up, I logged on with my rogue and all was great again.

Well, I guess first off that I just think they look the coolest of all the races. They have a decent intellect and spirit. They have immunity to fear, which helps, since you can nuke more when you're not running in terror if a warlock decides to fear you. I really liked the "mood" of the undead starting area. I also like the Cannibalilize trait. As far as I know of, no other game has made the undead a playable race. I think it was a really cool idea on Blizzard's part. Another thing is that I want to play a more "evil" character and the undead seem to be the most evil of the races. Also, I think that out of all the races, the undead look coolest in the robes . Hehe.

NE Hunter..... Pretty easy class to solo with once you get a pet. Range attack is nice for pulling mobs when grouped plus a pet is one axtra warrior type in the group.
NE Warrior.... Just a blast to play when you want to just get in there and hack and slash.
Human Pally.... Same as warrior. Did not play as much only to L6 so can not say much about this class. But I will still play one in retail.
As for all the other classes I will try them out and see which ones I will keep. The three mentioned above is what I will start of with then add others when I need a change of pace.

Ive tried warrior, rogue, mage and hunter
I prefer rogue... but im not gonna be a atypical rogue im being my own type of rogue. I dont care if some skills are gimped i love my build .
Btw atm warrior is underpowered , Underpowered for pvp, generally is just a meat shield as has no DPS at all.
They are a needed class in any party but generally even the added NBG All Mail items isnt good enough to make me play again. They are nice but for a warrior you shouldnt have to be defensive to be good.

Really hard to choose. And since I only have time to play a few hours every other day or so, I'm going to concentrate on one character. So far I've been a dwarf hunter, human paladin, undead rogue, troll shaman, and a tauren warrior. I leveled the highest with the hunter, paladin and shaman.
I think the most fun I had was with the hunter (the ability to make a pet of almost any beast and name it was tre cool). My concern with the hunter after reading the Beta forums was that the hunter's DPS wasn't that great and in the higher levels not the first class one would want to group with. But I did have fun with my little hunter so I might play hunter regardless.
Paladin was very balanced. Great class to solo and group with. Everyone wants a healer and a rezzer. Nothing too negative except...
Shaman, tre cool indeed. The best hybrid class I have ever seen in a morpg. A perfect example of a magic user meshed with a melee class.
Since I have liked all the classes I've played so far (the warrior and rogue being the least liked) I wonder if there is another class I would like alot. I'm curious about the warlock. Heard it's a challenging class to play.
Thanks for all the responses so far.
Either a Orc/Undead rogue. Deciding which zone will be quicker for me to get to 12, since I have every damn quest memorized ;x.

I am a proud Blizzard Fanboy
Dwarven Hunter for teh win. I know enough about the dwarven starting area to know I'll be in my mid teens by the end of the first day.
I personally wouldn't say that Warrior is underpowered..
I played a Tauren Warrior to lvl 20 in open beta, I remember one time I was walking through Barrens and had 4 or 5 people challenge me to a duel, a lvl 22 rogue, 19 mage, 18 shaman, 21 warrior and something else. And I can honestly say I easily beat all of them, with ease. I even made a few mistakes during the duels, at one point with the rogue, who was undead, I had the screen zoomed right in so like 50% of the screen was taken up by my big tauren. The Undead rogue slipped out to the side and got roudn the back of me, leaving me standing there wondering why im not hitting him anymore! I didn't even notice for like 5 seconds that the rogue had gone around me.
Anyway, with the right build, and gear of course. I would say warriors are just as good as any other class in pvp, though I would say that atleast 50% of pvp is to do with the players skill.
I'll probably Go - Dwarf Priest or Undead Priest
haven't decided on which.
Dwarf is winning though because i like hairy characters heh
Maxxatron - Anarchy Online
Remember - you can make up to FIFTY characters per account and up to TEN characters of one faction per server.
So there's definately room to "stretch your legs" and make whatever character class combos you want!
Unlike that OTHER game we all know about that only lets you make FOUR characters per account... *cough EQ2 cough*
lol
I will stick to my dwarf warrior despite I know they are the most unbalanced class quoting Neas "Btw atm warrior is underpowered , Underpowered for pvp, generally is just a meat shield as has no DPS at all." but I disagree with the no DPS at all while the warrior is not the top end dps class its still a high one, I could do crits of 561 but again I had nice gears (at lvl 34 thats it).
The only problem is that the warrior has go no means of escape against ANY other clases, sure the warrior can hamstring but when you PvP you are not facing just one guy, not even talking about how many classes can slow down in return and move faster than normal ( shaman/rogues to name a few).
Im convinced that the warrior will be reworked again and again because its the most important class in a group and should be that way in PvE as well as in PvP. At the moment Paladin can tank as much as warriors if not better (if you compare them out of group due to the devotion aura, also Im sure shamans are doing nearly a better work on the Horde side), rogues/mages/warlocks can outdmg, warriors has no mean of escape or surviving skills like Divine protection paladins have got (imminue to physical attack for few second) or healing spells that most classes got (which I don't mind of course it makes sense a warrior does not cast healings). In the end a warrior is just to look pretty but can become usefull for others as aggro holder (which is beeing worked on still), he can lower the damage done to all the mobs in the area by xx power attack, sundder a target armor for higher damage, make the mobs to focus on him for 6seconds.
In PvE Im having a good fun with the class because I like combat styles and all the debuffs I can do but its really VERY hard to play your role when your having a big wave of mobs. I usualy have to play between 3 FULL quickbars in ONE fight and 2 stances, say the fight lasted 5minutes consider yourself looking at your quickbars, skills, members hp/mana for most of the time barely have time to see the pretty colors lol.
In PvP, Ive been trying to "solo", what I mean is not that I was wandering around all by myself but without a proper group -> no healers -> no buffers and I find it very difficult to do anything in big pvp fights because most of the time you happen to be dazed, stunned, etc..and keep getting hit by random enemies which you can't help but to die
Im still going to stick with the warrior even if its unbalanced at the moment because Im pretty sure Blizzard will fix them again.
I am choosing the Troll Hunter mainly b/c of the Pet ability and the Regeneration as well as the Beast Damage bonus for the Trolls. It makes skinning and leatherworking easy and quick to make money. I coudnt find the pet trainers mentioned in the manual so i couldnt use the 35 training points my lvl 15 bear had. If anyone found it..... please respond. Hunters are great ranged characters but not widely accepted into groups. Glad I have friends outside the game who will be joining my guild when we create it. Anyone want to join? Email me at FLREBIRD21@yahoo.com We already have characters lined up for the retail release including: (2) Troll Hunters, (2) Orc Warriors, a Tauren Druid, Undead Warlock, and others still undecided. Looking for good players who played the open beta with us and are looking for quick quest completion and lvling up for raids. Still not sure if we will play on regular or PVP servers and open to suggestions.
Dancing with the ladies!!
I will start a Tauron Hunter (I think) becouse Hunters mainly have a cool pet
I will have two "prime characters".
1) Tauren hunter. The Tauren are the coolest race, and I love the hunter abilities, the highlight of which is the pet.
2) Undead Warrior. I love the Undead. Someone mentioned they have the coolest feel in their starting zone, and I agree. You really get the feeling you are in the land of the undead. And sometimes ya just gotta hack and slash.
I am going to try everything eventually except for Humans and Night Elves. Will never play them. Too prejudiced. I like the gnomes, they are cute. Dwarves are pretty cool too. But Orcs, Trolls, Undead and Tauren all will rule Azeroth. In PvP, that is a foregone conclusion.

Before open beta I would have said Human Priest.
But now I think I'll play a Night Elven druid untill priests get better...
www.warcraftradio.com
Gnome Mage
Tauren Druid
Orc Rogue for primary char. Rogue are really owning for DPS, and the stealth ability is really nice, I,M pretty sure everyone here freaked out at least one time when they saw a rogue spawning out of nowhere, and from the opposite faction ? Orc race.. It's just because I like their look, and Ogrimmar is a nice city, especially with the auction house
My second character, would be a shaman, tho i don't really know what race yet...
The shaman is really a good hybrid class both in PvP and PvE
I played a Dwarven Priest in most of Beta, dabbled with a horde shaman, then tried almost every class.
I truly enjoyed my Priest and will definitely have one as an alt. But the class that will be my main and the one I rush to 60 will be a Paladin...all I can say about this tanking classis WoW!! What a versatile and FUN to play class for me.
going undead rouge
1. dwarven paladin! - i love hybrid classes. i dont generally play paladins but WoW pallys have really grown on me. i find dwarves very interesting and love to RP them.
2. night elf druid - agian...hybrid, verastile, fun!
3. human priest - i generally dont like healing classes, but i LOVE the shadow magic priests have. i hate mages that are standard bolt/dd spells. i like drains , DoTs. and buffs. healing is just an added bonus.
