Did I state something incorrect about EVE crafting? Please any or all, go try it. Then come back to these forums and tell us all about it.

Trolling is trying to cause irritation to others on purpose. I gave my opinion on EVE crafting.

Don't feel too bad. I haven't found a game that does crafting justice. Maybe one day a developer will give crafting the same amount of attention they give to combat. (Sorry, wandered off into fantasyland.)

Wurm online has some crazy crafting, the rest of the game is shit however.

Warning: crafting is god awful dull. After you find a facility with an open production slot, enter the blueprint. Make sure the necessary raw material is handy and then.....watch a counter count down. Oh the excitement! That's right, you are building a new star ship and the graphic is a timer counting down. CCP must have spent several seconds coming up with that! If you are making a large number of ...say ammunition it can be quite awhile for things to finish. A bunch of ships even longer. You will need to come up with something else to do while the timer runs down.

Perhaps finding a more interesting game would be a good choice.

Because crafting in other games is so much better right?

... give me a break. Even SWG the crafting was get X materials and click craft. If you know a game where the crafting is super fun please let us know, because saying EVE's crafting sucks then not stating a better alternative is just trolling.

for example eq2 and vanguard, also atitd

If you want to be successful, at anything in EVE, you will come into direct conflict with other players. For crafting, this means fighting others players for a share of the market, and fighting other players as you take your goods to market. So you can very easily find yourself being chased by pirates as you try to move goods to undercut another players very profitable market. You can also find yourself as one of the main players in a major offensive where your ability to produce could be the difference between victory and defeat, and the possibility of making billions of ISK. You will also, to be successful, probably have to work hand in hand with other industrialist if you want to maximize your profits. So as a crafter, chances are you will always be hunted and always be looking for allies.

Yes you can just push a few buttons and make almost no margin, being bored to death the whole time, but this only shows your inability to take advantage of the many levels of crafting this game provides. Single server player driven economies FTW.

As long as you're OK with that, then go to it and goo luck in the best player economy in any MMO.

There are two ways to avoid that.

First, do courier missions, if you hire someone else to move your stuff they take the risk of moving it.

Second, Transport ships (T2 Industrial ships) are the best direct defense against suicide gankers. If you fit a nice buffer setup, odds are concord will destroy the jerks before they get you. Plus, you need to train the prereqs to get to freighters so it won't divert your training much.

Personally, I prefer the Minmater T2 haulers, because they have the most balanced resists and slot fit.

Finally, you need to consider where you will get your resources for your constructions. You can buy off the market, liquidate loot from rats/missions, or mine. If you mine, look for missions with good mining (less likely to be can flipped) or grav sites (I think it's grav sites) or have a alt orca/hauler to get your minerals, or just go back and forth between the belt and stations when your hold if full.
