Still a piece of crap game...like I really want to play an MMO where the only time "Massive" into play is in Cities or what I call "Rest Zones". Make the "world" open (AoC, WAR, STO, WoW, Lineage II) and this game would definitely win my vote.
Till then it's just a single player game with co-op missions...and a lobby (City / Rest Zone).
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall.

Wrong game, wrong information. You were thinking of GW, but Guild Wars 2 will have a persistent, open world.
Even more, players will be able to influence the environment with their actions, so every time you walk through an area things can be different due to former actions of players.

It really helps if you actually read the slightest bit of information about the game before making assumptions. They (the developers) and the MMORPG.com community have said over and over and over again, it will not be heavily instanced like GW1. Yes there will be instancing for some things (missions, dungeons, etc) but the core of the game will be in an open world just like most other MMOs.
I wish them all the best, but I'll believe it when I see it. Such a dynamic event system can have major repercussions on the development of the game as a whole, not just the content. Anet have already admitted that this kind of undertaking puts more pressure on them to "flesh" out the game with even more content than what an MMO would normally have.
But that doesn't mean that they will definately pull it off well. Time will tell.

The developers have already made it clear they do not announce features that are not already in the game. The DES is not something that is in the works it has already been implemented and is functional. I can't dig up the quote/interview atm or I would link it to you. I'm not saying it will be exactly as described they could certainly be adding some hype to it, but it's in there and working.
so wait leveling will be "save the town" esque quests with different monsters and areas painted over and a dose of heavy instancing for personal quests?

What I read was that GW2 is suppose to be an open world; that it wont be instanced like GW1, no rest zones.
So before you cast it aside for being a rest stop game do a little research.

Yes, City of Heros......that was Cryptic Studios. One of the best character creation systems in MMO games.

It's great to hear about a game that's actually attempting to evolve.

Top 10 Most Misused Words in MMO's
If they pull it off, it will be like the 1970s with a DM running a dnd game. Only taking 40 years to get there.
