Why is it in every thread of any game forum I read I see at least two or three posts completely bashing a game? Frequently it's the game related to the forum; why do these people, with such a fervent hatred of the game, even read its forum? And when it's *not* the game related to the forum, why are they bringing it up at all?
One main reason I rarely appear on forums is because I'm looking for genuine concerns, comments, and opinions, or find other people in the game to play with. I don't really want to read about how this game or that sucks and you should switch to *blah*, and then three posts down another about how the OTHER game sucks.
Maybe I'm just too damn old, and remember when conduct like that got you booted from places like this.

I can give you the answer... They are all in denial!
They were hooked on one certain game but now there is a better game that came out but they don't want to believe it so they start bashing it to make them feel better.
It makes for a good laugh though

Like armpits everyone has a opinion and most of them stink. One person may hate a game, and another love it for the exact same reason.
What I love is the whole fanboy concept, everyone has there own opinion on things, and this is a concept expressed by people that have a different opinion that are completely intolerant.
"I like X it's the greatest game ever", says player1
"I'm not going to say that game sucks, instead I'll use make indirect insults about the game, then call you a fanboy because I don't agree", says player 2
Everyone like or dislikes something for some reason personal to them, trying to make having a opinion thought or feeling other than your own, by calling them names (anybody) isn't any more positive, nor does make you sound un-biased or more intellengent.
There is nothing wrong with feeling strongly about something, you as the reader must be smart enough to figure out why people say things.
Believe nothing unless you already know it to be true, or are willing to do the footwork to find out on your own.

Posting credentials on a message forum is for the pompous. A idea can be judged within the context of itself, the person that posts it is irrelevant.

Achievers realise that killers as a concept are necessary in order to make achievement meaningful and worthwhile (there being no way to "lose" the game if any fool can "win" just by plodding slowly unchallenged). -bartle
