    Awesome stuff.

It would be weird for them to allow such customization when they say themselves "So you aren't like everyone else's ship"...

Anyways, tomorrow is really far off, we will know then!

Dang Jon, you sound kinda excited. Lots of weird typos (persnalizable? image).

Anyways, definitely sounds cool. I'm sure there will be different levels of ships (similar to size of housing in other MMOs) and I hope they'll be highly customizable. Yes, we may not get traditional space flight/combat, but at least we'll have housing. That's more than most MMOs can say.

PvP is pretty much what I expected it to be, seeing as Mythic has a part in this, too. Still, I hope they implement it more like DAoC and less like WAR. We'll see.

Edit: And if your ship is your main way to get to planets, it'll actually give people a reason to stay in their houses, other than boredom/RP/inviting friends over. You'll actually care if you painted the walls puke green because you're going to be stuck in there most of the time.

It would be kind of pointless to make them pilotable if there is going to be no form of space combat anyway, it would just be flying around looking at pictures with no interaction with anything you see.

The "customization" kind of lends itself to that... could you imagine all the crying when somebody lost their highly customized ship, cause you are not just losing your ship - you're losing your home, man - you're losing your home...

Love how these pre scripted speeches carefully tipped toe around that fact they wont show actual gameplay.. crysis 2 in game footage from earlier in the day put those cinematic trailers to shame.

WoW 2.0 Star Wars:TOR - cant wait to see the shitty in game engine.

Based on the statics, the number of players, etc - for some reason, I'm picturing that instanced ride up to the ship along the lines of player housing in AO... trying to remember which terminal your ship is parked at and all that fun.

Going to stop thinking now and let folks enjoy the positive speculation.

    Good luck.

I'll be perfectly content with a customizable moving house I can do exploration in. Combat not absolutely necessary.

Yeah but bioware should let us smash your precious little house into hundred pieces. Would be much more fun.

So much hope riding on this game. So much hope......

I like the news.  I think the PvP was a given already from what they've already said.  Player housing is IN... so thats confirmed,  a lot of people wanted that.  Not only that, but no matter where you go you'll have your house with you.  No telling if space combat will be possible with your ship or not, but I do not expect you to be able to use your house as a combat vehicle.   Its doubtful they would let your "house" be a fighter ship, if there is space combat I would expect some other ships.

You do that this was only a very small tidbit of new information released today. This is an ongoing event for this week with Bioware releasing much more information as well as hands on gameplay with the latest game build.

My video was buffering during the starship reveal :(  Cool info, though I was hoping for more.

Pretty decent trailer for sure. I don't think it was quite as cool as last year, but still a cut above the rank and file.

I for one, will not fight on Alderaan. We know how that one ends down the road... :P Hindsight is 20/20 I guess, and I'm itching to get into some brawls so that is a boldface lie.

Lol you my friend... are the lose and obviously have no idea WTF your talking about. If you think you can make an MMO with crysis graphics be my guest LMAO we're years behind those kinds of graphics/animations in an MMO. and PS crysis isnt all that great xD

Certainly not, it will be at launch or not. BioWare devs stated they learnt from SWG that space combat, if ever, has to be there day 1 or never.

Not a great deal of information was released on either. The starships, we are told, will be similar to player housing in that they will be persnalizable and will serve as your character's base of operations. We were also told that this is how your player travels across the galaxy. What wasn't mentioned, however, is the means by which this is accomplished and the announcement should at this time in no way be construed as to be confirmation of traditional space flight and/or combat.

War zones, it would seem, are contested areas that pitt the Empire and the Repulic against one another in ground based PvP battle. The impression that I was left with after hearing what they had to say and the way that it was presented was that the War Zones would function in a style similar to Battlegrounds or Warhammer Online's scenarios. HOwever, as was the case with startship, this has not yet been confirmed.

WHAT!!?? They DID add space travel, personal ships, and space combat!? WTF are the doomsayers supposed to bitch about now!?  Man EA always ruins everything.

Oh, any word on if there will be any cheese in the game or is that still a lost cause?

Starships as a base of operations could mean.   Cutscenes like we saw in KoToR.  No actual space flight mechanics, just a means to get from point A to point B with a cutscene of you doing it.

You don't have 1000's of possible variations of ships through customization just for cinematics, babe.

Actually, it's perfectly reasonable. There are numerous games with player housing, EQ2, LoTRO, etc. Some of those have instanced housing which is greatly customizable. But only you and the people you invite will ever see it.

A spaceship could be nothing more than housing is in other games--a time waster and a money sink.

I also have a feeling that most of your interaction with companions and crafting will take place inside your ship. Sort of like in Mass Effect/2 and Dragon Age: Origins, which didn't have a spaceship but did have a camp.

I don't believe that was Bioware's main showing. They will have time tomarrow.

Pretty sure the dude said there will be a playable demo on day 2 of e3, but maybe i heard wrong.

The way it should be, as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather they not spend valuable resources on some space shoot-'em-up.

No one complained in KotOR. I don't see why an MMO should have greater need for it.

I don't mind not having space combat.  I have a ship and it gets me to where I need to go AND I get to decorate it.  That's good enough for me.

War Zones/ battle grounds what ever you want to call them just made this games pvp garbage or a carebears wet dream come true. They took the wars out of Star Wars and made it Star instances. Plus the trialer looks nothing like the game play they must be using all that money up front to try and paint a pretty pictures for this crap.

How many delicate flowers have you met in Counterstrike?
