Dead/Cancelled Online Games you'd like to see again

Are there any online games that were canned for one reason or another that you'd like to see/play again?

(Preferably ones that were out of development and went live in some way)

UXO, Ultima X (10 as in Roman numerals, not X as in xtreme) Odyssey. Cancelled becuase EA is a bunch of money hungry morons, and they felt UO was the way to continue the Ultima series... when UO barely ties in at all with Ultima lore. UXO would have been one awsome game, and some of its awsome features like its in depth quest system would have put WoW and EQ2 to shame, it would also cause more games t otry harder due to the shear amount of innovation it had going for it.

And of course, Ultima Online 2... again EA bitched about it interfering with UO. UO is too old! These new expansions are making it less and less Ultima with every minute that goes by... Samurai Empire... what a load of crap.

Definitely UO2.  UO2 would have triggered a golden age of euphoric gaming.  Anyone with any knowledge of that title would probably agree with me.  I mean, sheesh, does anyone remember the trailers?

Instead, EA took SOME of the easiest concepts and slapped it into UO's lore, like the brief appearance of the cat race when they were trying to make on-going story events work.

Mythica. I was looking forward to fighting something other than rats and bats when I started my journey.

I would say UO2 because as of the time it was scheduled to be released(2000) it would have marked a hallmark for mmorpg.

If you read the setting, saw the screenshots and all the plans for it most would agree.

Of course this next one is not dead but horizons in the original concept was another one.

I still get high blood pressure when I think about how good UXO was going to be and then realizing that it will never be real. Warhammer online was also a big one for me since I am a huge fan of WH as I have been playing for 6 years.

I'd go with this. Did I play E&B in retail? Nope. I just had many memories from Beta and a love for Westwood...damn you EA!

    Wow... this is a toughie...

Well, for one, I would like to have tried out UXO. The concept behind it was very original and new. Its a shame that such an original idea was canned. :(

I would also like to see E&B back. I played it a little but never really got the chance to give that one much of a try. I wasn't found of its interface. It couldn't be adjusted/customized at all. Call me old fashioned but I like having my chat window on the bottom of my screen, not the top. Still, E&B had BY FAR the best tutorial I have ever seen in my life. Very nice, very solid. More MMORGs should have a tutorial like that.

For nostalgia's sake, I would sort of like to do Club Caribe again although it would could be difficult getting my hands on a C64 or C128 again. :) Doubt it could keep my interest as long as Horizons has (my current fav game) but still it would be nice to go back and do it all over again.

I may be really wrong here, but wasn't it reported a few weeks ago that the development house behind WH Online has silently been continuing to work on it?  I know I read it in a recent PC Gamer, but someone lost that issue.  image

Ya, someone else has picked up Warhammer Online, but they are no longer getting any backing from Gamesworkshop.

    UO2! For sure!

Horizons! As I read this thread I remembered they had a very nice concept first, too.

Warhammer Online! Why the hell canceld? Awesome graphics.. great world and mature races thanks to the wellknown tabletop!

    Mythica.

Because Norse gods do it with lots of mead.

Mythica. People bash Microsoft but I love most of the games they publish. Asheron's Call, Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, all awesome solid games.

Also does anyone remember Fighting Legends? Not a superb MMO by any means but it had a lot of potential. I wish it would have been picked up by a major company.

Motor City Online.  This game could have lived-on had it been marketed properly.  All I can do now are look at my old screenshots and watch American Grafitti for the ten thousandth time.
