Why the constant "WoW is better" abuse against other MMO's?

Hello everybody, I hope you all don't mind me writing out a new thread because I like hearing other people's opinions about something I want to ask and what I'm going to ask will have nothing to do with what the previous threads were about. Remember to be reasonable here whether your adult or not.

Mind I ask, why is it that everytime I see a comment anywhere on the Internet, like Youtube for example and you always get a comment like "WoW is much better then any of these" placed on the comments of a video of an MMO that isn't WoW, this type of comment has even been said on Everquest 2 which is a great game to many, really I'm shocked with the amount of ignorance of today.

You want proof, look at the comment of this video of Everquest 2 for a user called MGMexican who says one of the most ignorant comments I have ever seen "Everquest sucks big dick ,WoW ftw"...

 

 

So what does this mean, everyone likes WoW and hate the others regardless? Sadly not everyone is senible minded like me or some of many of you, the biggest percentage of people in the world are stupid and horrible minded. In their own mind every other MMO is crap and are really saying that all other MMO's apart from WoW are crap.

Really, I would never want to go back to WoW and I'm struggling enough as it is to find another MMO I could consider playing. It sure is a horrible world we live in.

because most MMOs out there create their world and mechanics "inspired" by World of warcraft, what they forget is that WoW has had many years to polish and make sure everything works according to plan, they also made sure to release the features complete and unbroken, other games will mimic its features (thinking of SWG NGE with the expertise tree, which is the same thing as the talent trees in WoW) and its made clumsily without thought and background to it.

 

why play a copy when you can play the original

So you came here were Eve and others freak games like that reigns so you can get some moral support?

 

Let e tell you a little story, on school theres the bullies on one side and the nerds / unpopular kids on the other hand. Basicly each other hates whatever the other grp does but theres an exception its called WORLD OF WARCRAFT. Bullies invaded the nerds world and are basicly doing the same they do in RL, bulling the nerds, WoW is so popular it totally destroyed the boundaries of what is cool and whats not, even old people, house wifes, extremly hot womans who dont even know how to turn on a computer are playing this game

 

I guess theres no excape from the bullies now pal, not even on ur unreal world of games and internet....deal with em

 

 

but i should agreee with the mexican EC2 sucks, and im 100% nerd

We have to endure the constant whines and crusade of the bored trolls with attention seeking issues who dislike this game but still insist in posting here every day, more than any fan of the game posts... so I guess that abuse you mention is a rightful payback.

No WOW took from UO, EQ and DAOC!  WOW Was not the first MMO out there.  I try out the trail and did not care for WOW  and was bored in 2 hours.   Games I have played are UO, EQ, DAOC still playing EVE.   It is good WOW is doing great but it is not for me and I get tired of everyone saying all mmo games are ripping off WOW.

  WoW was clone of EQ and DAoC.  It pulled piece's of mmo's together to make theirs.  They were the first to put all of these key point's together.  SO ppl like to think they were the first to do so.  But the were not.

  I played WoW, I liked it but even in pre-bc, there was nothing new to it.

The other games attacked first, calling WoW the Mcdonalds of MMORPGs, etc, etc, etc. The problem is we outnumber you 100-1000+ times!

SOE games suck, and always will, and you just got to accept the fact. Vantard is just funny, and the Vanbois always attacked WoW, heck even the hack Pres of Sigil (Sigil=DECEASED-HAHA) attacked WoW.

My gauntlets thrown is get some players then prove HOW GOOD THE GAME IS, but first you better crack about 5 million players to have any chance of comparing whatever crappy game you play to WoW.

For the record, my comments on his intelligence are based solely on his grammar/spelling, not his choice in games.

Frankly, I'm sick of game bashing.  I can't play WoW without people bashing other games, I can't play other games without people bashing WoW.  It's bullshit, and just needs to stop.  One of the reasons I end up playing solo most of the time, and why I'm currently on a break from MMOs.

So true, people fail to realise what came before WoW. Nothing is orginial about WoW, same goes for Lady Gaga who makes up a song that sounds too much like Don't Turn Around by Ace of Base.

 I ignore posts about wow-clone's.  Because if people compare anything to WoW, then they have no idea what they are talking about.

There's always been conflict between beliefs. Microsoft V Fruity“Apple,” Blue Ray V HDTV, Beta Max V VHS, WoW v Every other MMORPG. WoW is seen by some players as the slum of the MMORPG world, the rejects if you will say. 

As for why this goes on? It's down to human nature, People have always found something to fight about, from tribal gods to oil, and now it's about MMORPG's. I guess it's the sad truth of been human.
