Whatever happened to sending out useable discs at launch?

Has there been any word on sending out the actual working DVDs to those that bought the boxed set? Last I heard they were to be sent out at launch. 3.5 weeks after launch now. As far as I know.. no discs have been sent to those that paid the $75 of a boxed copy or the $115 for the LootBag which all contained unusable discs.
I'm not asking for a poll on who still wants the discs. I am asking if the company has provided an udate on sending working discs to those that purchased them.

They sent them out a while back, and the people who got them then bitched about how the data on the disk is useless since the game has changed drastically after they have been sent. They are basically only for lookin' at, like all MMO disks that are made obsolete by the eventual patching.
Lots of people got their CE toys btw, not sure about the loot bag, but people got the physical copies already.. It's well known that the artbook is empty in the last pages of it.

They did send the boxes and lootbags out in Jan.. and they did contain a disc but the disc was unuseable... as in.. you couldn't install it and update. At the time, Merlyn apologized and said that they would send out actual working discs at launch.

Addressing the lack of a "manual" and the outdated client.
A manual of the game does not make that much sense at this point really and it would have only suffered the fate of the client on the DVD - meaning it would almost certainly be outdated by the time it was delivered.
We made it clear numerous times that a) the client on the DVD would be outdated by the time the boxes arrive and b) everybody who wants a version of the release client delivered again will get the option to do so once we release the game.
We are currently working on something like a "manual", basically a very nice and thorough pdf explaining the basic systems of the game, the world and other things.
We will make this available on the website as soon as it's done and of course keep this up to date.

worst "free month" in history of mmo's. Crashes, bugs, beta gameplay....this game should have never been released. I cant believe this garbage actually accounts for the 30 days we paid for. I for one will not be giving them anymore money. What a waste.
And the game i got in the mail was no more than the beta client from months ago on a cheaply produced (i mean amateur) cd. The case was aluminum with crappy screen print logo and it was bent to hell when i got it. I sent them several e-mails about it and they never respond. Somehow I have a feeling those "useable" discs won't be coming for a long while.

From what I understand, it was more like 2/3 of the book was blank, and the excuse was they expect you to fill the artbook/sandbox yourself.

It was a note book. Do you know the different between a notebook (with concept arts) and a artbook?

If the DvD is garbage, the book is garbage, then why did they make them? Why pay people, publisher, paper, boxes, shipping, cd's and such then turn around and say that?
This is my 1st post about the game and I have been following it for well over a year. The main reason I will not suppout this game is just for the simple fact that the people running it just have no clue. In fact my mind was made up after hearing about the "box" issue. If you know it is crap then why make them and send them to people? You don't! This game seems to have the problem of "Fuck it, just send it out, fuck it just put it in game, we can fix it later..
Stop spreading slander please. I did NOT get my "money back twice with chargebacks". As for the rest, no you can't use the disc they included in the box unless you just want to download the entire game from scratch (and then patching), thus negating the point of the disc. Please get facts straight before making untrue statements as it just confuses people.

Sorry you're right it's the other guy that did the charge backs, it's just you all have merged into one after one year of this. I was talking about burning the client onto the disc they provided after downloading it if possible, sorry if you didn't understand me the first time.

If you as a business have to put your one and only product on sale a month after launch you are sinking faster then the Titanic.
You put items on sale when they are no longer in demand and you are trying to clean out non-productive inventory, not your new and shiney flagship (and only in this case) product.
Did not get a disc after launch? That is considered false advertising and you can get a refund for it if you try.
In business terms offering a discount is to increase demand for the product. They've done the market skimming to get the high initial profits, the lowered price is clearly to draw in people that are unsure about buying the game.
To make it simpler;
NOT because the product is unpopular,
BUT to gain even more profit as people didn't want to pay the premium price.
Again...
Can you show me the other MMO games that were highly discounted withing the first month of release that turned out to be "successful"?
Noone is debating the validity of price cutting as a strategy.. it's just that most have never seen it successfully employed during the first couple of weeks of an MMOs launch. I'd love to see examples of where this was used successfully though...

Even if/when the game goes F2P, people will still defend it.
Let's also get this back on topic. This thread is about StarVault's failure to deliver the promised useable discs to the customers that have paid for them.. more than a month after launch now.

They lied about sending them out, period. They do not have the money to send out the DVDs as they can barely sell the game and had to go 20% off a month after launch...
Clearly.. as it is now over one month past release and they have not sent out the discs as promised in their sales link.
