Watch the finger movements in this video at 3:10, they do over 300 actions / second.
Imagine trying to compete with these freaks of nature who do nothing but play. You can't win because they have created something called "muscle memory", they don't think about their actions anymore, but just do it.

What part of "professional gamer" did you miss?
Using this logic, I should stop playing basketball because there are playing like Kobe Bryant that would destroy me. Thanks OP.
How do you win a MMORPG?
You log in and feel like you're in another world, one that you enjoy being in.
to the OP: I've played a couple of action mmorpgs, and I know at least one of them was awesome fun (TR). I wouldn't mind seeing more.

He's a proffessional gamer, do you really expect everyone to be this good at games? No.
EDIT: Also, he explains he's given up other things, he's just like a proffessional football player if you ask me. Don't call him a freak of nature for being better at games than you.
I'm free on Friday.
He's only good because short time actions leave the possibility to gain muscle memory and repeat certain actions over and over.
Did you even read the title? I know he's a professional gamer. Fact is, action based games which rely on short actions and action management allow this to happen. Strategy prevents this and doesn't allow jitter-kids to reign.
Half of the replies missed the point completely.
Basketball has nothing to do with short time muscle memory applied to games, please don't be an ignoranus and actually read the thread.
this is why i want an action mmo, practice leads to perfection.
the reason i dont want is latency issues ¬¬
now: GW2 (11 80s).
Dark Souls 2.
future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord.
"Bro, do your even fractal?"
Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
He just appeared to be doing about 3 things at once, I can do that on most games I play but I prefer to be aesthetic when i am building stuff

Wait... so... he's not going to destroy you... so... nothing to worry about?
All I know is, it doesn't matter how fast his fingers are, he still has to wait for the game to respond...
I'm free on Friday.
im pretty sure its APM and stands for actions per minute so 300 clicks / minute.
its a viable thing in starcraft/warcraft where are lots of clicking and mico/macro managing.
I don't really know why but I instantly liked that guy. It's a shame that hardcore gaming (even proffesional gaming) does eat up so much of your time you lose other things. But it's like that for verything in the world. Your day has only 24 hours.
More ontopic: Well I don't eally get your point. Ever played any motion sport? Not mind sport like bridge or chess. It's all muscle memory. I don't think how to put a ball into the goal (in football). I just do it.
You complain about that this guy would be better then you? No sympathy then. Think about how much you need to sacrifice to get on his level. And if you really want to triumph over him then just train and get better. Rant threads only make you look silly.
Faulty analogy. You don't play on the same court as Kobe and you will never have to try to compete with him.
As you will never play against proffesional gamers unless you climb to their level.
I don't want to triumph anyone like that. it's pathetic if that's gaming. I'm just pointing out that I don't want jitter-kid MMO where muscle memory reigns over strategy.
This thread is pointless. In MMOs there are more factors involved then just being able to play games fast. No matter how good someone is in an MMO there is always chances to throw that person into a disadvantage weither it be by adding more people against them or using a class that has a better chance against theirs. If someone wants to dedicate their time to being good at something it is their right to do so and not right to call them a freak for it. Either way, I would rather play an action MMO anyday over sit and click or an RTS. Bring on TERA! Bring on Vindictus! Bring on C9!
Looks like I'm too slow for my dream job.
Professional gamer as an occupation is over rated anyway. Who would want to play games all day and be paid lots for it anyway.
Looks like I'll have to settle for dream job no.2:
The thankless role of a developer.
Actually, I think the OP misses the point. Sure his ability to execute is phenominal but that's not all that's happening is there? He's not playing whack-a-mole. He's not "just" reacting is he? It'd be one thing if all he was doing was going through some game designed as a reflex test. But that's not really the case is it?
For all the anti-twitch sentiment buried in the first post the real issue here is that OP doesn't seem to want to admit that not only can this kid out move him but he can out think him as well...
"Heart grow stronger, Will becomes firm, the Mind more calm, as our Strength lessens..." Battle of Maldon 991 AD
I wan in a top Clanbase team in UT2k4, so stfu please troll.
The point is I doin't want to play twitch in MMO.
Is someone forcing you to a gunpoint to play MMOs?
Let's rephrase that. I want to play MMOs. I want to play MMOs that don't have twitch.
As you will never play against proffesional gamers unless you climb to their level.
Except in MMOs, where you'll all be in the same world.
Nope, I just don't want to get the same thing WoW did. Release 1 succesful twitch MMO and everyone else copies it for years to come. RPG had nothing to do with twitch until Tera and F2P introduced it.
This thread should be called "This is why I don't want an ACTION-MMO" and then proceed to QQ over Koreans which makes little sence to begin with.
It's senSe><. I didn't QQ about Koreans, he could be an Alien for all I care, doesn't make him less of an freak.
