As the question, not a trick question just curious where most people's memories are placed. (the low level range, the high level range, raiding, pvp?..)
how it amazed me. Never realled played any pc-games. Then you enter Azeroth and you could walk anywhere you could see. I really liked the social aspect as you had to work together with 50 (40 + 10 backup) people to achieve something. Gathering reagents for pots and enchants as a guild. Making it safe into MC and later BWL as horde always had a million and one druids and rogues camping Blackrock Mountain.
Getting my thunderfury. I was one of the first three warriors on my server to get it. Having that thing basically made you a rockstar the first two years of wow. Goodtimes.
My Fondest memory would be the death of WoW. I loved the game when if first came out. Now it just to easy to play, a 5 yr old can play it and it looks like a giant cartoon. I wish for the end of WoW to come everyday. The name is like nails on a chalkboard to me... Sorry for those who still love it. Just IMO
It's funny because it's not WoW related , but more Diablo 3 related. In a way I was pissed when Blizzard reworked their whole staff from the East coast to California for World of Warcraft and along the way the possible idea of seeing D3 died. But now in a way I'm kinda glad they let Diablo 3 hang for 11-12 years. D3 will be released when the MMO world will be needing a new concept. All memories I got from WoW are D3 related. I got no problems against WoW , just never cared about it since my heart was and always will be with the Diablo series.
- it lying on the floor writhing in total agony before croaking!
no, but seriously, my fondest memory would be... hmm... our first Ragnaros kill.... the outbreak of cheer on vent is something I'll never forget... and then everybody getting drunk and partying.... on vent.... definetely my fondest WoW memory
P.S.: doesn't beat the fond memories I have of DAoC and Planetside, though... probably nothing ever will...

A guild called Sojourn led by a guy named Loneshadow. Cool people, no asshats tolerated.
Ken Fisher - Semi retired old fart Network Administrator, now working in Network Security. I don't Forum PVP. If you feel I've attacked you, it was probably by accident. When I don't understand, I ask. Such is not intended as criticism.
"Mr. Rothstein, your people never will understand... the way it works out here. You're all just our guests. But you act like you're at home. Let me tell you something, partner. You ain't home. But that's where we're gonna send you if it harelips the governor." - Pat Webb
Everyday coming home from school logging in just as everyone else was getting off then looking at general chat in ironforge seeing people forming 40 man raids to attack org:D It never got old and we did it everyday for months till they released the honor system then we had 200vs200 fights in crosscroads that lasted the entire day till 9-10 then everyone went to bed.
Running my dwarf from Loch Modan through Wetlands. Cant recall the port town I was running to but it was fun getting there and later taking the boat to Dark Shore.
WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.
Making a dwarf hunter on an rppvp server and telling gnomes to get off my land and go back to gnomreggon, and they'd get mad at me and start arguing about how they can't or how dwarves had no right to tell them to leave. Then heading into the undead starter area and defending the pumpkin patch from the undeads trying to steal the pumpkins.

Killing anyone who had on anything less than chain armor in three seconds with my shaman using a 2handed weapon before all the windfury nerfs........good times man
That and quiting the game at level 20 when I suddenly realised that WOW was nothing different to all the other point and click MMOs and that I hated the combat and the level system.
OK my favorite, this was on Winterhoof so I HOPE the allies I did this to see this. I had been playing a few years but was leveling up a Shadow Priest for 59s. I was doing the Timbermaw hold quest chain the last part of it to kill Xandivious.
Now this is a Bubblegum server so there is no world pvp to speak of which i didnt like but people I knew were on the server, some Allies a couple of Dwarves come to where I am and start taunting me and whatnot.. they apparently didnt know what I had... or WHERE to Demon spawns, so i Spawned the Demon, they must have thought it was a firework or something and laughed at me again, then I :emoted Point.. they keyboard turn slowly around to see the Gargant angry demon running at them and proceed to die horrible horrible deaths... of course I ran to not draw aggro myself.

Waiting on: GW2, BP
WoW might aswell be already dead as far as I'm concerned but my fondest memory would be Iron Forge ganking on my UD rogue pre TBC.

Walking into Ironforge for the first time during beta.
I thought it was awesome, and I remember telling myself, this is an MMO i could play for a really long time.
I lasted less than a year, when it became apparent raiding was the end-game
Pre-BG Open World PvP.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

Walking past the box in the store and mentally regurgitating on it. Seriously, infinitely glad that I passed by this title.

I have to second that.

Being ganked on my Undead Warlock in Tarren Mill on a PVP server (Vanilla WoW Warlocks sucked)
Taming Shadowclaw on my level 13 NE Hunter in Auberdine
Guild raid killing Ragnaros on my 60 NE Hunter
When I finally got my last piece of Beaststalker armor
Finally creating my Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Mount
Being Punted by The Beast in UBRS
Finishing the questlines to get the UBRS and Onyxia Key
Being Attuned for Molten Core and BWL
Running my level 1 Tauren Warrior Bowowcow to Ironforge naked, resurrecting each time to dance by the bank, repeatedly being killed by guards
this.
There is no knowledge that is no power.

My fondest memories would be of all the posts people...posted, about WoW dying tomorrow.
And a dancing banana for you!
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

The forsaken/undead race and all it's lore.

Lookng to the right of my desk and seeing the 3D figure print statue of my main avatar.
Unique in PvP set.

5 years of adventures all symbolised in a statue. At least something materialised.
Seeing the train system for the first time.

[Mod Edit]
I would go back to the day I bought it, installed it, and cried because the game sucked so bad. What a waste...
