Early 2005 ashenvale vs cross-roads PVP (level 20's) - would do that for hours having no clue what all the classes were.. what just killed me.. My PC freezing, hardrrive spinning wildy loading all the content then bang! a wave of horde running at us.  Opening the raid window and seeing 39 names there... and thinking... yes MMO's have finaly arrived... charge!!!!!

The earlier days of WOW before the big expansions and the poplulation explosion when you would adventure in small, reasonably tight, quality groups of player parties. When you could log on and it was easy to find a friendly player or two of similar level to have fun with and the occasional spattering of fighting between the two factions.

I'm sure no one saw this response coming. Did you ever even play the game?

I am not sure if he did but i sure played it and i agree with him my Fondest Memory would be that its dead and gone and to pee on the grave of the game that ruined the MMO Genre.

I suppose it would be the fact that i didn't had to stress myself out with making gold at all.

I did not like WoW much in general (in fact i disliked it a lot) but the crafting/gathering was decent enough and even was fun for a short time for me and unlike in FF11 (which was my main MMo as i played WoW) it wasn't much stress do succeed. Getting gold was easy so i could enjoy crafting without the stress of financing it.

    let me see....

    • Rolling on my mechano-hog in the barrens..

    • doing achievements around the whole world with an IRL friend.

    • Fighting for top dps with that friend.

There's lot of thing I like about wow, but at the moment I'm quite burnt out. I'm letting it rest a bit while trying other stuffs.

The first time I walked into Darnassus as a wee little night elf. Music booming in my ears and a HUGE world tree directly ahead of me, it was an epic moment.

South shore vs. Tarren Mill pvp fights before there was even a pvp title ladder.

    My first Ragnaros kill.

    My first Lich King kill.

My first netherdrake, cause flying on the back of a dragon is cool.

My favorite part of WoW was raiding with the guild I was in. Fun times. Also ganking at Raven Hill with a friend of mine on our rogues.

However, my favorite moment was when I was on my lvl 40 hunter. I had 2 horde who kept ganking me. No matter what I did I could not get away. So I logged my lvl 70 (WotLK wasn't out yet) and flew to where my 40 was. I found the 2 gankers and killed them. I logged off and then logged my 40 back on. Well when I logged on I was being attacked by a mob and was near death, the 2 that had ganked me over and over ran over to me and helped me kill the mob and then they waved to me. It seemed that they learned their lesson.  LOL

Back when I started WoW the world felt huge! My best memories would probably be exploring around as newbie and traveling with Deeprun tram and ships. I had no idea where I were going or what was I doing, I was just exploring I guess.. I also rolled millions of characters before I even reached lv 40 for the first time.

    Thats it.

When I played enough and got to lv 50+ or something I knew exactly what  I was doing and that was boring, somehow I just had to rush to cap and start raiding, which wasn't very awesome. Traveling was just autorunning and alt tabbing. No fun. :(

Two Night Elves cybering on my tram as it rode from Ironforge to Stormwind. I had to jump off to get away from them. Unfortunetly it's a rather long walk without the tram. So instead of hoofing it I rerolled Horde and for the next few years procceded to MURDER EVERY LAST GOD DAMNED ELF I SAW.

It was alot like the birth of the Batman. With more tears.

granted I haven't played for a year my memories maybe a little old compared to some.

    1) my first char was an orc warrior I remember swimming for the first time and thinking it was amazing. Compared to other mmo's i've played it was a complete change and pretty epic.

    2) group ganking at western plague lands and eastern plague lands. Back when you could get legit open pvp with 5v5's and such pretty epic especially raven hill.

    3) old school mass battles of tauren hill and south shore.

    4) first time I walked into AV was pretty epic

    5) First ragnoros kill.

first c-thun kill (took a lot of time and frustration to get the fucker down)

    6) walking into the first area of the burning crusade and seeing that gigantic siege golem rolling around.

that is all. Its funny because when i quit the game i was mostly frustrated with it, now that I look back on it after playing for like 4+ years i have a lot more good memories than bad.

my fondest memory would be the day my roomate told me it died i've had my account hacked 3 times an hardly every played with ppl acually wanting to progress everyone was just gimme gimme gimme

    Heres your teeth back!

Raiding Karazhan with a group of friends was the best memory for me. It wasn't so difficult that it was frustrating or took awhile to learn, but it was hard enough that it killed us many times before we got every fight down perfectly. It was also always rewarding to people because there was a ton of good loot every time we ran it. We had a group of some real jokers and it just made every run total comedy, especially with our frequently drunk shaman healer.

    My fondest memory?

Probably the day it died.  I'm not a hater but after 5 or 6 tries I never could enjoy the game.

Running through Stromgarde for the first time and rolling up on a group of horde. When we all saw each other it was like two biker gangs with a grudge running into each other at a bar. At first you pause and then someone makes a move that sets off a chain of events that causes all calls to broadcast over guild chat for reinforcements.

We were fighting for the right to quest there. Not loot, not honor points, not gold. Pure and simple war with a purpose. And is lasted for hours....

Well that a trecherous runs through Stranglethorn Vale to reach the port: Booty Bay and it's much desired flightpath.....

2 manning Bal in AV (pre-LK); my resto shammy and an enhancemnt shammy with full gear, truly epic.

Getting attuned for Kara and raiding with my friends in Grassroots. They were the best group of people, followed closely by HOME.

    Raiding IF pre-achievement.

    The day it died.

Gaming since Avalon Hill was making board games.

Played SWG, EVE, Fallen Earth, LOTRO, Rift, Vanguard, WoW, SWTOR, TSW, Tera
Tried Aoc, Aion, EQII, RoM, Vindictus, Darkfail, DDO, GW, PotBS

Yes, Southshore PVP was great. I also enjoyed the netherdrake although getting one was the fun part for me. My first capital was Ironforge and yes it was epic.

WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.

  • Killing C'thun, best moment I think I've had in any MMO. Quite possibly because of the guild I was with though.

My fondest memories are few and far between with WoW, but best would be anything pre achievements or pre constant class changes for "balance".  That crap just drug the game in the ground.

The first time I entered Ironforge on my level 5 Dwarf Warrior. Of course, then I took the train to Stormwind to meet my two friends who were playing Human characters. Those two cities made the game seem so freaking epic, I was hooked.

The two longest stretches that were the most fun were: 1) raiding with a guild named Vengeance on the Vashj server. Cool, relaxed group that had fun and were patient (thankfully for me because I sucked when we first started Kara); 2) three friends from RL and myself dungeon crawled on Alliance toons from Deadmines to LBRS.

Also, turtle AVs on the hill just south of Storm Pike graveyard.
