Odd question, I know. But living in London I dont see much of it. But it looks so lovely!
Ill never forget when I started playing WoW, I rolled and gnome rogue, and of course, my starting area was Dun Morogh. It looked beautiful. The sound of the wind blowing through the trees. Snow can look as beautiful in a MMO as in real life, thats why there nearly always is one. So that is my question. Whats your favourite snowy area? I will probably have to go there, if I havent already!

The snow maps tend to look nice in every MMO I've tried but my favorite one is in the one I'm playing in (one of those grindy F2P). I sometimes just travel through the map to gawk at it and would stay longer to take more pictures if only the mobs would stop attacking me.
I'm no longer a big fan of snow in general after living in the northern US and seeing heavy snow year after year. I like to visit the desert maps during the colder days.
Forochel in Lord of the Rings online comes to mind. Also, the Storm Peaks in WoW. Let's not forget Xarcabard in FFXI either. VERY scary place but oh sooooo cold.
Forochel and the Misty Mountains in LotRO.
Amazing scenery and feel.
My favorite, NO, but most memorable. Just about anywhere on Velious in EQ. the eastern wastes that the howling wind and the snow drifting by, even cut visibility way down. in the great divide it was pretty hilly/mountainy you could run along and just fall on wyrms or look up and be staring at a giant.
Agreed, but I did enjoy that content when it first released.
I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.
I'm gonna have to go with Forochel in LOTRO though there was one in WOW that I liked alot too though I can't recall the name of the place now.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
The Storm Peaks in WoW for me. The scale of the zone and the huge amount of vertical movement make it extremely unique on their own but it also has a great storyline behind it and an amazing soundtrack. IMO it's also the region to have made the best use of the flying mounts so far in WoW with the Titan ruins that run through the inside of the mountains.
In terms of getting the atmosphere of a frozen desolate wasteland... yeah I think Xarcabard manages that the best in FFXI. That zone was terrifying at times.
You didnt mention the game Bmoor. Although I can understand your reasons for not liking the white stuff. Amazing how peoples opinions can change with something like that. I was never a fan of desert areas, Champions Online comes to mind, I started in the snowy area there as well!

The scenery in LOTRO made me feel like I was there when playing.
Somtimes when I play I occasionally find myself exploring around if for no other reason than just to see the sights.
See what you mean. Just look at the condensation coming out of the maidens mouth.

Midgard in Dark Age of Camelot will always have a special place in my heart.
But I have seen far better done areas nowadays of course, just none that were home to me for so long.
I generally don't like snow areas at all, but if I had to pick one it would probably storm peaks in WoW.
I've always liked Winterspring in WoW.
