All I want to know is, Will the expansion include the lost 30 years of Jesus's life and will we get to see what its really like in heaven. Do we get to raise the dead, heal the sick, walk on water, feed a million people with five loafs of bread and a dozen fish. Will one of us get to betray Jesus and then allow us to see what Hell is like too. Maybe have a meet and greet with satin. And will we be able to start out as paguns instead of jews. The paguns had way more fun then the jews. Like having mulipule sex with the temple priests (all woman) to insure a good crop. Although I believe Moses got waisted and got it on with his two hot daughters, so maybe being a jew isn't that bad.........
Well, it sounds like a sound game design concept as long as they stay with the old testament. It seems almost hard to make a bad RTS game like that. I hope, anyway. Sometimes developers can surprise me.
I honestly wouldn't want to play the game due to the community. It wouldn't be the religous community I'd worry about, it'd be the community of folks like some of them on this thread, who would play solely to grief and harass said the religous community who this game may appeal to. The game would become secondary. IMO.

Nah, you want to be the Jews. The early grind is horrible - 400 years with a whole bunch of OP Egyptian PK-ers keeping you down, but once you get past that, you get some crazy OP spells.
A Modest Proposal for MMORPGs: That the means of progression would not be mutually exclusive from the means of enjoyment.
If there is a cash shop, wouldn't that bring to mind the "Jesus and the money changers in the temple" episode, and do any of the people responsible perceive the irony therein? Also, I would point out that there is nothing less fruitful than wasting the precious hours we are "given" playing online games, let alone what it does to your chances of multiplying.
Well, this thread made me smile and even genuinely laugh out loud in places. I love Arathron42's:
"......I'm also someone who doesn't like stupid people, and anyone who thinks joseph was a white guy is so far below stupid that stupid would make a good goal for them."
and senadin's:
"Well this is bullcrap... no spells.... well only 1 guy can cast spells and it will be hundreds of years before he shows up and only one person can play him. To make matter worse he only gets to level 30 or so then he dies...."
Does this game admit scientific reality, or is it a bunch of deluded fundies who insist that the Earth was made by magic 6,000 years ago? Just curious.

well the bible probably makes a good base for an RTS strategy game, its full of warfare and intrigue after all, and most of the wars mankind has been involved in throughout most of recorded history, has its foundations in it too, i mean really, for an action game with plenty of bloodshed and betrayal.. its.. a godsend (pun intended) i think it will probably be an 18 (mature) rated game though, as theres quite a bit of sex incest and .. er.. other things.. probably a bit more hardcore than Age of Conan was
Interestingly enough it looks like all they did was use the Bible (Old Testament) as a work of literature (fiction) to form the backbone of their storyline. Religion doesn't come into play at all.

This game is intended for people that believe in the Bible. Unless you have a time machine you have nothing at your disposal to refute their beliefs in the same way that they cannot refute yours. All either side in this fight can do is have faith that the manner in which they are interpreting things is the correct way with absolutely zero chance that either side is entirely correct.
Either way this doesn't look like they put much time or effort into making a fun game to play outside of the Farmville set.

Not true.. I didn't see anything about faith or religion. You don't have to 'believe in' a work of fiction to accept that it is a work of fiction and is entertaining or teaches a moral story.
Wonder if the game devleopers will be hit by lighnting like what happened to the actor/producer (who got hit twice) by lightning while making the movie "The Passion of Christ"

Actually this would be a great setting for an MMO but from viewing their site it doesnt look like much of an effort.
It would be, but they did not put much of an effort in place. I looked at the website, and most of what i saw was text, one graphic picture well that looked something like an old sims game or possibly a modified early on country life from zynga.
To bad they had a good idea just not well put together.
I would say from the many various varieties of comments that a game like this would not win over many. The title alone would bring in those that want to bash it.
From the sounds of it this won't even have a shot past beta as it is not well thought out and planned. Low budget or just not real drive.
As many are asking for violence and blood and all the gore that goes with it. In truth there was plenty of that back then as well as sin and sex and all the devils tables of stuff just as it is now.
TBH I would think a game like this that would have a chance would have to do a lot of homework and have a really good devoted team. Even then not sure it would fly.
Religon and Politics is two things it is smart not to get into conversations with for the most part.
What will they think of next? The Koran Online? A Bhagvad gita mmo? Holly Vishnu!!!! I would like to see a game based on the Super Best Freinds from South Park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSwG6MfiSqw
Most amusing conversation. As for the game? Looks like another example of Christian Rock, Twilight movies, Much of today's rap on the pop stations, much of today's country, and the rest of the christian video games. These are examples of, 'We know who are audience is, and we know that if we say this is (insert genre or franchise here) then we don't have to bother making it good.'
if they didn't block NA I'd actually give it a try, even if it isn't really an MMORPG. It'd be interesting to see how they manage to handle things and I hope they wouldn't see a reason to focus on the darker side of the story. (which seems to facinate so many folks here)

Hey, cheer up, maybe this is hitting bottom, eh?
Old testament, would be cool, but I'm not sure they're going for an A ESRB rating.
The stonings would be so much fun though, perhaps like a mini game.
