They've said they are taking on new GM's but it's a process that will take time and that no other GM's currently play MO.
The issue is that there are other players called High Councelors that can BAN and have other GM powers.
That's not an issue, HC's actions are checked up upon. If they do unjustfully ban someone all the person needs to do is send a complaint to the higher ups and it's checked. It's not like they do what they want unchecked.
You must be a High Counselor/Counselor or a GM (so, either Pompeii or Discord) since you say it as if its a fact.
Unfortunately from what I remember, the lead GM couldn't be arsed with reading the ban appeal mails. And actions are not checked, on several instances when I requested investigations against other Counselors (Xenos, for threatening players with bans in-game; Nesoi for teleporting people during 13th Prophecy's keep construction and coming into GM Vent saying he's here to speak for AI; Thaquib for looking for people with his GM account and then logging into his Destroyer character to kill them), nothing was investigated and nothing was checked. Every time I asked, the line I got was "do you realize how impossible the server logs are to check for that?".
The only reason Nesoi was removed was because he was inactive as well as biased; the simplest way to work around it would be to put in 3-4 hours of GMing daily and you're "too valuable to lose", with a carte blanche to do whatever you want.
The ticket system itself is a GM-protest thing we've been ordered to do by the Lead GM because there was fuck-all we could do for players. Since there's only 1 person answering Support Tickets (Daniel), it was the only available way to apply pressure on SV to actually create some GM tools besides an all-out strike. Which was also heavily discussed in our meetings.

I do.I'm not sure why the need to question my credibility. I never said that Myrmidon were not significant, I just said that this thread seems to be all over the place.
Was the thread that got deleted about Achilles temporary ban? If so davmac could at least mention that for the people who didn't read this thread between 9/6/10 9:57 AM and 9/6/10 10:53 AM. Anyone who didn't read this thread during that 56 minute window would have no idea what that post is or it's relevance to "Myrmidon quitting the game". Also, what is the relevance of Tartarus's ban. Is that an alt of one of the members of Myrmidon?
My main experience with Myrmidon is getting killed by Achilles several times while killing wisents about a month ago. I have not run into them since moving to Fabernum. I am not involved in, nor do I keep up with the interguild politics except as needed to refute arguments on this forum. My experience with them outside of the game is verifying Neoxx as not being the source of postings on other fora that were from user name Neoxx_Myrmidon (I think massively) when those posts claimed Myrm was leaving the game a few months ago (the relevant thread was "why all the hate? 2" if you want to dig back for it) and confirming cyde's identity on this forum when he posted that the source of a recent controversy was not to be trusted.
My name on the MO forums is "lonicera" (that's a lower case L at the beginning). In game I am Os Munda or Lonicera.
P.S. Feel free to sent me a message on the MO forums to verify, or let me know your username (via pm on this forum) over there and I can send you a message to verify.
When ever i read stuff like these about MO, i think of Darkfall. LOL
This type of stuff never happened in DFO.
Duping and exploiting ? No you are right it NEVER happened in DF.
There were quite a number of mobs whose AI was messed up, particularly when in water and a number of players abused that. It drove me nuts but improved quickly after release. The few borked mobs remaining were fought over by players to exploit becoming pvp hot zones which was a great side benefit but also well known to the GM's so bans were easy.
There was probably some duping as there is in any game at some point, but I can't tell you a single dupe because it was not even in the same ballpark as MO. In MO each patch brints more dupes and all the players know exactly how to do it. If duping was as common in DFO as some of you claim, please tell us how one duped in DFO. I can't and I've been playing since beta.
Comparing these two games is a joke. DFO was massive in terms of mechanics and game world and the game worked. MO is the anti-thesis of this and most of you know it which is why all you really have remaining to do is to attempt to sound the "but MO doesn't suck any more than others games did". Even if that were true doesn't say much for MO but it's not which makes it both pathetic & sad.

Can we focus on the topic at hand.. which is Myrmidon (and other guilds) leaving the game?
Myrmidon attacked Moh-ki today. It seems now their issues with the game are being adressed today they're back. Probably to do with the mass forum taunting against them too.

Slapshot please stop spreading rumors and speaking about things you have no clue about. Myrmidon didn't leave, some are taking a break. Prophecy has been dead since the 2nd month of live and is not one of the only guilds to own a keep. There is numerous guilds who have keeps.
Prophecy doesn't even own any keep, another guild named 13 owns the keep an shared it with Prophecy until late where they completly cut them off because there is only like 1 guy who even plays from prophecy.
Tons of people have stated they are not playing but subbing because the game isn't where they want it.

I would class them as PK's not PvP'ers but nonetheless, server population is dropping thats for sure.
Well said. When Myrmidon is present, the carebears go into hiding. I wouldn't mind Myrmidon if they didn't abuse every bug that was present (i.e. The blue flag bug). If they didn't take every possible measure (including cheating) just to kill everyone and abide by the mechanics the way they were meant to be played (i.e. not going into blue towns when you shouldn't be blue), then I would have had a much better time playing with them. Granted, they weren't my reason for quitting the game.

Actually China, there was dupes in the way of a battlespike dupe. People were duping those and selling them to the npcs on the EU server, namely The Mercs who racked up millions of gold in a short period of time, then moved the money between so many accounts, they didn't ban and the gold stayed. This never happened on the US server, and was fixed before its launch. NA servers exploited gold came from people using hacks to get inside walls, and backkick mobs with a mount thru the wall, taking no damage from the end game mobs, and farming them all day w/o risk. Some finally got banned for it, but it took forever, and the damage was already done.
In MO, Myrmidon has the same reputation as The Mercs had on DF. They built up the reputation of using any illegitimate tactic to get an advantage in a pvp game. It's funny how these kind of guilds quickly run to the next big thing, because they take the challenge out of thier own experience. The fun is short lived, and there is no reason to feel like they accomplished anything, when they cheated to get to the top. Not to mention, they don't like it when people finally start to catch up to thier exploits... legitimately.
On a related note.. looks like the leader of -13- guild has stopped his subscription in protest over cheating/exploiting (those are HIS words). If I recall this guild was one of the guilds that had multiple keeps (I think the most of anyone in game?). He is claiming they will all leave unless SV addresses his concerns.
It will be interesting to see if he follows through on his statements...
Mortal Online is different than Darkfall in that in Mortal it only takes a couple weeks to max your chosen pvp build. In darkfall it literally takes months of afk macroing to max out your stats.
If some mortal online players did manage to max out there stats and skills via exploiting, it's really not a big deal because most likely those exploits have already been patched, and it will only take a week of casual gaming to catch up.. (Honestly only a day of gaming if your dedicated)
Thats a half-ass defense, coming from a game that had dupes allowing guilds to illegitimately build houses and guild keeps. Fact is, games are flooded with cheats if not monitored. Darkfall finally got a handle on it, but it was late. Mortal Online is following the same path. People who play fair are telling other people who play fair to stay away, and thats the bottom line.

There are many facts in the original post you have gotten wrong, the most exaggerated probably being the subscription count, which is much higher then one hundred. Please do not make up numbers or facts. I could go into this further, but it would be a complete waste of my free time.
Also, the "counselor interview" is full of lies and exaggerations, and very few things were close to the truth, as much of it was stretched or entirely made up.
I honestly would have thought most of you would have learned the following by now, but as a reminder:
Do not believe everything you read on the internet.
Let me justify what I'm about to say with the following: I've never played MO and do not plan to and truly don't care how well the game does.
I always find it lame when someone tries to make a show buy a guild leaving a game. I've never once in my life though of any guild in any MMO important, ever. So when posts come about how important that guild is and they're quitting so that must mean something, I just laugh at them. Guilds quit good and bad games all the time. People (and guilds) have different tastes and different ideas on the direction an MMO is going to take. This means that obviously there are going to be times that people (and guilds) decide to leave a game. Making a big show of it is just sad because for anyone to think they're important for being in a guild in an MMO is just silly. It is just a game.
