The user interface, If it sucks then no amount of pvp or pve content will change the fact that the game is flawed at it's core.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Agreed. ... and network stability. Crashing and rubber-banding shouldn't be as common as they are.

4: Different looking Armor and Weapons at endgame, most of the games that turned me off is giving everyone the same look at endgame.
well ive noticed most people like to categorize stuff like this when asked qeustion like this.
i feel u cant really separate something as its the whole that makes or breaks the game.
so i would have to say its attention to detail in every aspect/category of the game thats THE most important !
I added a #5 option to it now. Its true, I really can't decide because its all so important to me. I'd rather have 3 and 2 missing then 1 and 4 missing ;-;
Strange as it sounds, how soon I can find the fishing minigame and how much fun I have playing it seems to be one of the best predictors of whether or not I'll like a game as a whole.
Ehh... I don't think an MMO should be centered around just one aspect. It should be a culmination of all mechanics therein, meshing together to make the MMO what it is. I've always thought an MMO that centers itself around one aspect of itself really limited it's potential...
But if I had to pick something, I'd say PvP. What's the use of spending hours on your toon (besides the sense of adventure and accomplishment) if you can't prove your power by making someone eat dirt? Good times.
If all the eliments are not coherant then the game will lack direction.

A good mmo is build around many important features not just one. No mater which is more important feature for individual person, a mmo created only around one become dull very fast.

I'd have to same good gameplay, most mmorpgs (WoW most free to play games, Eve online especally) all fail on this aspect. Gameplay includes: good combat systen, fun pve and pvp. and stuff like that.
"An MMORPG could be completely diffirent from WoW. Just look at games like Dofus, Wizard101 or EVE. But as it is, most of the Western MMOs are trying to succeed by out-WoWing WoW. It's like an army of 10 sports games made about same sports, and barely none about other sports. WoW clone is an accurate description of those games, it manages to convey much information with only two words." -Poster on mmorpg.com
Rift: World of Warcraft clone #9321 Nothing special to see here move along.
I want to be able to play the game again as a different class and not feel like im on linear rails
This ^^
And depth of game play, MMOs are played over years and such there should be enough to keep you interested. This includes but is not limited to
Content - End game and pre-end game.
Diverse classes with numerous skills and play styles within each class.
Polish- Bug free and smooth game play.
Masive world with out instant travel - this is a personal fav as i beleive that instant travel kills the MMO nature of the world, make distance and travel be an additional factor of game play.
It is quite amazing that no MMO producer can look at all games currently on the market and produce a game that will encomapss everything that is out there and have so much content, depth and polish that it will be a sure fire winner.
Community. I deal with wankers all day long. I don't need to deal with them when I get home.

Combat its what makes an Mmo,look at world of warcraft for example the community is complete crap,The lore is i dont even have any words to describe it,but the combat is polished and well done something that no other mmos have yet to make.

Quallity PVE with grouping content to strengthen the community.

have a proper teabag emote like this
Now on a serious note, good UI and the ability to customize it, solid story, good mechanics for fighting. I cant pick just one.
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.
Groucho Marx
Choices.
From character looks to classes to races to skills to multiple ways and places to level to things to do when you're bored of levelling.
/dance gets my vote.
for me its character customisation. i dont want to look like everyone else out there. i want to be able to create a unique character.
Agreed. ... and network stability. Crashing and rubber-banding shouldn't be as common as they are.
In order of what I truely care for.
1: User Interface/controls
2: Character Customization
3: Types of spells or such (Im a wizard lover)
4: Different looking Armor and Weapons at endgame, most of the games that turned me off is giving everyone the same look at endgame.
5: Magic being balenced along with all other skills early and later in games (Clearly impossible....but you can still wish for it )

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

Playability. Somply put some games crash out and/or lock up my system like Aika, Microvolts, and a few other korean/chinese wow clones.
I won't play a game that crashes my whole system after about 5 minutes of play. S4 League is better than microvolts anyway

engaging and entertaining pee vee pee
The answer? Combat and content.
Is the combat fun both pve and pvp? yes?
Is there enough content to not brickwall people too fast? yes?
Good game.
advancement system
need to be constantly moving forward and not limited to a set path/class (at least imo).

Freedom of choice in the way I develop my character skills, meaning not being locked into a closed class.
