Its cool that everyone has an opinion on the game, but telling people to not play the game and forcing your opinion on others is just plain stupid.
Forcing??? Nobody is their opinion on me...or you for that matter.
Both of us are making a choice to be in the forums and we choose to read their opinion.
I get so tired of people whining that they are "forced" by devs to do this, and "forced" by players to do that. In life, we are only "forced" to die. Everything else...seriously...EVERYTHING else is a choice.
Stop being a victim.
Posters starting topics like "dont play this game" are forcing their opinions on us, if you dont know that much, maybe you should not make a fool of yourself and not bother posting.
it is FAR better to patrol the forums and "force your opinion" on people than let them waste their money on this OBVIOUSLY half-assed game. If you're a delusional Final Fantasy fan, go ahead and waste your money. But for everyone else ... just cancel your preorders. The game is awful, and anyone who has AT LEAST played open beta knows this. This is 2010, not 1998, which is the feeling one would get from playing FFXIV.
BUT IRONFUNGUS, THIS IS BETA, GUY! -Naive Fan
No. No it's not. As people have most likely said before me, they have already been shipped out to be distributed by now. But more importantly, this is the same crap that was spat out by all the other fanboys of games such as Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Aion, Champions and Star Trek Online. Would any of you children like to tell the rest of the class what happened?
There were issues. Stupid issues. Issues that should have been fixed in Alpha. There were OBVIOUS problems and the games, in general, were missing a couple hundred gallons of polish that should have been there before release. Because of the developers' incompetence (or maybe the fact that the game was rushed by an executive), and their unwillingness to listen to any of their beta testers, these games flopped. Pretty damn hard. Utter failures. Final Fantasy XIV will be no different.
Do people like you honestly believe that the normal thing to do nowadays is to release a half-finished, fundamentally incomplete game? It has never been that way, and it never will be. I'm not here to try and convince everyone not to play the game, I'm just warning people that it's one of the worst games we've seen in the MMORPG genre. I would be more inclined to play Hello Kitty Online than this pathetic excuse for an online game. Anyone who has played the open beta (at least) should be able to understand why this game is so horrible.
Just in-case none of you know the extent of Squeenix' stupidity, let me clarify. Nothing wrong with having a goal, but the game's current state is hilariously archaic. I could care less if everyone on this forum ended up wasting their money, but I thought I might do something nice and warn you that this game is a giant, miserable failure. It will always be a giant, miserable failure because Square Enix have no idea what they're doing. It's been that way since the merge.

Grow up.
