I am astounded at Crickhollow! this list came on just a few hours ago and look at the numbers already. Dont thnk any of us who know this game would have believed the rush to |Crickhollow. Its one of the new servers and now nearly rivals the Long established Brandywine!!

Good thing we have trolls like you to keep us up to date on what the entire MMO community likes.
Pre-FTP launch Crick was talked about as the unofficial RP server. I think you have, not only new players, but a lot of old ones rolling alts on the server for RP purposes.
I think it will take a few weeks to weed out the population to manageable levels. Until then, I will try to keep my patience everytime Crick locks my system, drops me completely and/ does several very weird things.
What the heck?! I tried every server and the waiting lines range from 300-1000 people!
This ain't good:( It'll make the old players mad and the new players frustrated:(
Hey OP: I know one game that players had to wait punching the keyboard just to give their money to the company, not to mention the que to get to play. Darkfall comes to mind.
If you read the official forums (which are now down, I think), they had to lower the logins to reduce the server load.
Also players are reporting that account status doesn't actually play a role, free, premium, VIP all log in the same priority. This is anecdotal, but as numerous people who multibox or play with their family have said so (with mixed accounts) it seems pretty definitive...

Definitely not true. Several of my friends (as well as myself) were able to log into our server with no queue at all. All of us have VIP accounts. Login priority is definitely not equal.

I see you have been playing LOTRO for a while now but yet all you do is complain about it.
earlier id said the avg. wait was 46 mins. i must confess i did not log in to each serv. i only checked the wait time and moved down to the next and did the same.
so i just logged into each serv. tho it says 50+ min wait on each i was ingame in less than 3 mins on each serv. tho the launcher had froze a few times makeing me restart the launcher . all and all i was in and out of every serv. in the time the game est. it would take to wait to get in to one.
Dont let the what looks like a hugh wait time deture you , none of them are near what you really wait . maybe there timers are off i dont know , but you wont wait 10% of the time the client is saying you will

I play on Landroval and as I type this I am #50 in the que with a wait time of >3 minutes...wondering where all these alleged 20 minute waits are....
I'm VIP too and I was 329th in line with a 21 minute wait. I played until my family called for our once a week chat and now can't get in at all. It's stuck on 'Gathering Data' now.
Are we to truly believe that an MMO company would mislead their paying customers about... well, anything?
*grin*
Heck, I can';t even get the client to connect, at this point.
INDEED.
If you believe that the company did not anticipate this or if you believe that they are in fact doing everything they can to alleviate the problem then my firend you are incredibly naive and lif is going to be kind of rough on you.
The absolute disdain and total lack of concern for the customer which is standard in the MMORPG world makes airlines seam like the masters of customer service.
The bottom line is their bottom line, with few if any exceptions they refuse to spend the money on people or infrastucture to prevent these kind of problems.
I downloaded LOTR after reading some very positive posts about it, I was full of positive feelings and hopes, maybe this was the MMORPg I was looking for. Now my atttuted has changed, same ol same ol company attitude.
No Thanks, I go better uses of my time than waiting 60 minutes for a log on.
You say, it will get better in a few days a few weeks, fine enjoy yourself, I won't be joining you.

I'm all for bashing corporate companies (I do think they represent most of the evil aspects of today's life), but you are going way too far on this.
I was able to get on with no problems around 5:00. Queues were high in response to horrible lag that was consistently occurring last night. My wife is not able to get on at this time with the same errors others are reporting. I absolutely guarantee that they have people working on it.
What can they realistically do about this? The F2P officially launched on Friday, and if the servers are overwhelmed, it'll be several days (if not weeks) to build new servers to take on additional load. In the meantime, as more people get frustrated, they are probably hammering the login server(s) which has probably brought them down.
Did they anticipate additional customers? They added 4 servers...so duh! Did they anticipate this much? Obviously not. If you think it is that easy to anticipate demand, you have a bright future with any company of your choosing, because every major company has been caught off guard with unanticipated demand (how long did it take for Nintendo to ramp up sufficient production of the Wii, why were there shortages of the iPhone 4, etc, etc, etc).
You won't join the game? Great! The online LOTRO community is the most pleasant in an MMO I've dealt with. We don't want people that love to jump to conclusions and are prone to hysterics over something that just popped up a few hours ago.
Launcher won't even load for me, I don't think Turbine imagined that there would be a crush like this lol. Oh well, guess we'll just wait for the fix.
in same boat, just about decided to go rent a movie for the evening. Either getting stuck at "..." in the launcher window or setting stuck at "examine programs" Never seen it this bad, Turbine underestimated the success of the F2P
been following the thread over on the official forums and several non Turbine network people feel as if the connect problem lies somewhere in the network infra structure not in the servers. Not a net hardware geek myself so I could not say , but that would explain why some can log in with few issues and others like myself can't connect
I am also stuck at 'Examine Programs' in the LoTRO launcher. I figured "hey, I'll fire up DDO." Same thing there. When I go to DDO.com, it says the site is down for maintenance.
I imagine this is partially to do with the login servers and partially network overload on the LoTRO side. Otherwise DDO would not be affected. I would hope they put DDO on a separate network segment, but who knows. F2P internally = lower all costs as much as possible. Maybe network infrastructure consolidation was part of that. Pure speculation of course, but it is possible.

Still have queues? I just logged on to Brandywine, no queue at all. But I do have a VIP account.

I'm trying to access my old turbine account and it feels like their account gateway is being slammed....
Yeah I'm of those who are trying out LOTRO

I can connect but I can't even get passed "Examine Programs" from the launcher.
