With all of the fantasy games out there, that are based on books, it was only a matter of time before the Christians had their own fantasy game based on their fantasy book.
But the really funny thing is thatt they have complained, ever since the early days of D&D (the rpg, not the mmo) that these kind of games are the work of their devil, so why the sudden change of heart towards rpg's/mmo's to the point of creating their own mmo?
I guess that it's true; Christianity is a businessdesigned to fill the pews and make money.
Thanks but no thanks. Religion of that type makes enough money, so they don't need to try to convert me.
It isn't the preacher that gives you freedom of religion, it is the soldiers that gave some or all to protect that freedom.
I'm more afraid of the company not being Christian... or at least Jewish. Only someone of this faith can give it the respectful depiction it deserves.
It's a friggin' storybook. Mother Goose wrote better.

Ah, but the difference is, we think the book isn't a work of fiction but of truth.
But learning how to read it is an exhausting study, and it is miscontrued so frequently even by members of the faith who don't really understand it as they should.
But you should know, there's nothing wrong with Christians making money, even if we don't cast aside all our belongings and live in poverty. Lots of ways to spread the Word you know.

Just wait 'til the Goons, WoW barrens chat inhabitants, and 4chan kiddies hear about this game. Hope the developers have enough cheek left after having to turn it a million times.
Of course, if the Christians get to have an mmo, then extremist Muslims can have one too.
Imagine reading the news about how hit squads hired by devs went to players homes to enact Jihad because someone said something bad about Mohammed ingame.

Really?
Two questions for you: do you honestly believe that the story of Adam and Eve is real and not just a story? Do you believe that the events of Noah's Ark actually occured?
See the issue here is that of genetic diversity. This isn't a story, this is reality. Each species on this planet has a specific minimum number of individuals that are required to continue their existence. In 1987 the California Condor was reduced to a mere 14 individuals that descended from 3 genetic "clans". Fortunately this was apparently enough to keep things going, but at a cost. The condor's genetic diversity was compromised due to such a low population, and as a result some of the birds are born (to this day) with serious conditions such as a lethal form of dwarfism (Chondrodystrophy).
We are very lucky to even have these birds on this planet anymore, but if you think the Human species could manage with a population of two, I really don't know what to say.
"Mr. Rothstein, your people never will understand... the way it works out here. You're all just our guests. But you act like you're at home. Let me tell you something, partner. You ain't home. But that's where we're gonna send you if it harelips the governor." - Pat Webb
This is a "review"/satire of the German columnist "Olnigg". I thought it was so fitting, I put it through Google translate and smoothed the translation. I felt it was... fitting.
"The crown of thorns stabs deep into the scalp of Jesus. Blood running down his forehead. Serious steps, he drags the massive wooden cross on his back also to the gates of the city. Accompanied by the ever-recurring cracking of the whip, which leaves indelible traces of the surrounding inhumanity on the tortured back. Jesus death before his eyes. The world holds its breath.
Suddenly a battle cry. Super-Gnome Olnigg appears out of nowhere and stormed right out of the gaping crowd. He casts an instant heal on Jesus and the Romans are destroyed at once with a single AoE spell. This triggers the spawn of Bossmob Pontius Pilate. However, even this is no reason for Olnigg look for a group. Two critical hits later Loot Time and the title "Jesus 'Buddy' is emblazoned as the latest entry on Olniggs pages of his Bible Achievement.
Something like that came to my imagination when I first read of the game "Bible Online". Online Bible? What was a long time a running gag and a synonym for games that the world never needed was used, has now become really true. But what - or more importantly - who's behind it? Did the U.S. military with its "America's Army" inspire the Vatican to its own recruitment product? Forced the shortage of priests the Pope to new online channels?
Many questions arise. Did they plan an item shop? Will it finally give absolution via micropayment? And of course which age restriction will a detailled shown crucification cause? Will we purchase Bible Online quite ashamed at the counter, always in fear to be connected with the shooter community? Imagine the newspaper article: "mad gunman had Bible on his hard drive!"
The truth is as always so sobering and boring that a direct comparison of several hours walking in a park counts as an adventure holiday. Online Bible is nothing but an attempt at a real-time strategy game. With spear throwers, archers and swordsmen, to be built houses and all the familiar, embedded in a background pseudo-sacred history. Everything that is running on a quality level which suggests the computer science course made by a tree nursery. Equipped with a budget as big as the collection of a church midnight mass for the main holiday season.
To expect a serious Bible entertaining in Online Bible is illusory. Misnomer is the keyword. The plot has to do with the message of the Bible as much as a traffic area with a moon rocket. If the Christian religion would have been founded only because of the bloody events described in the Old Testament , then we would see today zombie movies in religion class and the Bible would be a phone book.
A look at the Forum of Bible Online led me finally to the role of a war correspondent. There a certain "Basterd" writes on "Tribes": "Ahoy, I'm just been attacked. Have Faith ~ 60. Thought you may be attacked only if <= 50 has Faith ... Can someone enlighten me? greetz "
Therefore, the higher the disbelief, the more likely the violent assault? I wonder if someone has not confused two religions altogether? Does Christianity not have to do with charity, forgiveness and humanity?
To report more about this game, that would mean his own soul to bring in immediate danger, and even as an atheist for ever to burn in hell. The most decisive argument in the final game rating is manifested in a single question. If the responsible company for "Bible Online" FIAA Inc. also has the balls to program an Mohamme Online?"
Either faction will be amusing to play on. On the one side, a bunch of evil philistines, lions and demons wiping out Christians, and on the other, a bunch of apparent forgiving mild mannered Christians swearing, cursing, and generally forgetting their beliefs everytime they are ganked.
Although do we really need another fantasy game full of magic, make believe creature and, fire demons in lava lands?
Still, at least when you die in this MMO you resurrect and get a 1 day 100% health buff! Although the res timer will be set at 3 days, which will be an annoying timesink.

Pretty funny how moderators sleeping when it comes to people bashing christianity
bet id get at least warning or ban if I explained why I disagree with gays etc..
No....trust me, you wouldn't and they're NOT sleeping. You need only to go read on the Religion and Politics board of this forum for proof. And BECAUSE they allow "you guys" to bash us....in the interest of equal rights....they allow us to say that you're delusional. Fair is fair. Although I DO realize that many Christians want the rights to give the "Fred Phelps treatment" to others while not having to suffer the same abuse themselves....that isn't even scriptural. No where in the bible will you find that "Christians" are going to have an easy road of it. So just accept your persecution and smile....after all....what would Jesus do?

Because unless God or Allah or Zeus or whoever happen to show up publically and say "Here I am!", all we are making fun of is a fantasy storybook and its dedicated LARPers ( no offense Kyleran, you know I love ya).
Whereas if you decide to bash homosexuals, you are propagating hate and showing yourself to be a douchebag all in one stroke, thus earning a ban.

There is a difference between discussing the game's mechanics and features and bashing on what it is about theologically. Either way, I don't see how the mods are able to post this thread without having to monitor the CoC violations that are being thrown around without penalty.
