Because it was amazing, the way it was laid out. The whole time with Tidus and Yuna im just like yeah tidus is gonna hit that. I almost croaked when Yuna was gettign married to that guy with the crazy hair. (Some one give me his name!!)
I definitely think FF7 is in a dead heat with FF tactics.. because Yes FF7 was the trend setter. It was the First and you have to give Respect for being the first. And besides that The game was just amazing with an incredible story and great characters and lots of mini games and the game was just Perfect. I mean COME ON... TELL ME WHO DIDN"T CRY WHEN Aerith Died!?!?!?!?!?!
Final Fantasy Tactics was simply put perrfect. The game had every freaking thing i wanted I can't even begin to explain. The game was just hottt. Final Fantasy Tactics with it's perm death brought me TRUE appreciation for my characters. I played the stage when you are outside some castle walls and you have to kill some guy inside i forget but it was HARD... but when i beat it.. i would look back and see what characters died. And for some strange reason my beloved black mage kept on dieing... So i played it over and over until i found away for him to live.. Just had to give up like two other characters in his place though... I just LOVED THE GAME!!!!

I agree 100% with you on tactics, the game was truly awesome. Also I remember the level your referring to- I think I lost one of the Knights I'd had since the beginning getting past it heh. People who criticize FFTactics for not having depth are simply misinformed. The game was teeming with storyline. My funnest part personally was using my mediator to collect dragons that would attack rarely at random and then breed them for progressively cooler looking dragons. I can't remember if the one I finally settled on keeping and using frequently was red or black...
And yes FF7 was awesome too - I can recall sitting stunned for several minutes after Aerith died.

What was so great about the story in 10? To me it was just another love story/save the world routine which we've all seen a thousand times before.
