Not alot, but if they make some very decent strides in the right direction they might keep from having a large exodus. some things i think need to be implimented soon, (I don't play the game but some things I've noticed that are absurd are)
1) get rid of the 8 quest/guildleves whatever every 36 hours. barriers like that are a step back not forward.
2) from what I understand there is no mail. a postal service is one of the first things an industius society will set up is a mail system. not a hard thing to do, almost every mmo has it, its just email in a different wrapper.
3)fatigue seems kinda like BS, something that use to happen in old MMO's was you would earn 50% less xp when you became fatugued, and earn 100% when rested. Blizzard changed that with WOW, and made the game give you 200% when rested and 100% when normal, (same mechanic, different, more positive perspective), from what I understand of the fatigue system, when your fatigued, you gain nothing more for that class...thats BS. maybe slow down progress if played too much, but never stop.
those are three things that would not take alot of work, could easily be implemented in a month, would ease up some of the pointless restrictions in the game, and keep people happy while they do things like work on the UI, at least the lag, add more falvorful content (i hear ALOT of is is generic and bland) control response, ect. the things that will take more work than it seems, and will not be able to do right within a month. but maybe two.
Well, I cancelled about 2 weeks into my free month. Another free 30 days won't help unless they fix the things that caused me to cancel - primarily the UI and content issues.
This is SE's attempt at trying to use a defibrillator on a game in cardiac arrest(the game is not dead there are still quite a few people logging into the server I play on). What I mean is that this is an obvious PR stunt and should be taken with a grain of salt. Will they fix some things, probably. But, don't expect some kind of miracle fix by December. I doubt they will change the core gameplay mechanics of the game.

My Thoughts on Content Locust
Foolish to think that them adding 30 more days free playtime for people is anything more then them trying to hold onto some kind of playerbase.
