I mean if you are still complaining you are just here trying to bash the game and you had no interest in seeing it succeed anyway. During your 2 month free trail you can either play the game or wait, either way this stuff will be fixed.
Couldnt agree more, certainly SE is making an effort trying to repair FFXIV, but no some ppl just cant accept that. And i take that +30day playing time thank you.
Promises are good but I don't see the point praising SE until we see them implemented and working.
The +30 free days says how much they know the mess FFXIV is right now (mostly the adventuring part, crafting works well and the AH/Market Wards once fixed are just preferences) , despite some people enjoying it (nothing wrong enoying it at all) and a few more saying the game is perfect (these ones need to open their eyes).
since launch every patch they have said they were going to do has come exactly when they said they would do it.
That is enough for me.

Fanbois to admit S E tried to pull a fast one on everyone and got caught.
Closed Beta & Open Beta fixed by pre launch
I think the first one will be easier since we cant go back in time. ... .
"A fast One" maybe, but I think what happened is the SE execs wanted to know what was taking the game so long and pushed the game out the door without realizing how far from completion it actually was. Frankly I would not be surprised if the director does not work as a director on another project for some time.
That could very well be, maybe the Project Director also figured that it would only take a couple weeks to fix everything an thats why there was a 3 week wait on reviews. Its like I was telling my friend, I didnt really see any improvements from open beta to launch. To have the exact same problems makes me wonder what the actual state of this game was.
I think they jumped the gun to beat Wows expansion because nobody knew when it was coming out. These fixes will put it very close to its release which would have been doom for FFXIV. Which makes the speculation a bit more believable.
So the Director of FFXIV announced that they have been listening and has publicized the updates they are working on for the rest of the year. From looking at the list, they have hit on almost every major aspect people have been complaining about, as well as a few Ive never even heard of. Furthermore, they have even extended everyones free trial for 30 days.
And yet people are still complaining.
So I'd like to know, what more do you want?
Obviously, "dont release an unfinished game" is ideal but impossible at this point! In my opinion, there is nothing more I could ask for from SE. So I dont get it.
I personally want nothing more than to see the great game I know SE envisioned, and I can tell they wont give up until they've satisfied people like me. Why is that such a horrible thing?
In one word, content. I have read atleast three posts from mostly objoective players who have made not that content isn't talked about in any of the upcoming changes and that has been a pretty prevelant request I've seen throughout the games criticism that there simply isn't enough content to it.
As another poster stated the changes seem to make the game easier but does nothing about some folks fun factor.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

At least for me "wanting" it is as you say, "dont release an unfinished game", by doing so the companies rep becomes qeustioned regarding further...information. In addition, I would add, do not advertise, charge for and pretend that a release game is functionable. This only adds insult to injury and encourages other developers to do the same. Yes, I see players complaining because the reported content was not ready/released when the game went to the market. A better "truth in advertisement" would have been to add a note to the buyer that indicated the issues they knew were going to be there. Those issues are the ones you mention being fixed...someday.
I am not sure what "you dont get" and you are not alone in "wishing" for the game the SE envisioned as I for one would surely enjoy such a game, just not willing to buy the dream. To this end, it is good you have found a game to your likeing as it is and in time is certain to develope into a game that others will enjoy. I plan on visiting the the game when the "major" issues along with some that I am not aware of yet are corrected. In my humble opinion making such...corrections should take about a year.
Hey guys, how about you give me a bunch of money up front, some money every month, and in return I give you an empty promise that a fun, playable, fully-featured game will be provided to you in the future. You should be totally fine with that right? I'll even make a list of the things I didn't put in the game but promise to down the road.
After all, what more do you want? Anyone who doesn't take this deal is just a hater.

This is exactly how FF11 launched, the pattern is repeating itself completely, though its a bad stategy imo.
Most of the major gripes are being fixed, lots of content is coming in november/december (which all start to rolle in 2-3 weeks from now) loads more enemies, content, accessibility, less RNG, smoother combat.
But haters are going to hate, it still baffles me how the same old suspects come into every thread STILL whining when things are being fixed, when thier concerns are being adressed, once the development cycle is laid out infront of thier eyes and isnt really a too unreasonable timeline considering what has happened.
Its as if you have to play a game on release or its not worth it.
but like I said.
Haters gonna hate, where every indication is that this MMO has great potential outside of the overcrowded WOW market, and will likely achieve this.
Yes there's no excuse for a big budget company to do this, but unlike the small ones, they can pull it together, and will.
And yet I see you in every thread, and literally every post of yours mentions WoW in one way or another...get over it.
Im in every thread, too bad what I've been saying is actually coming true. I liek this game, hence why I am on this forum, but no one can give a proper rebutal to the facts layed out in front.
Why are you here? cmon? surely you have something better to do that post hate about a game you have no intention of playing?
I'm not here to hate on the game. I stick around these forums because I'm interested in seeing where the game goes. If you look through my history you'll see I'm pretty open about the fact that I don't like the game at current, but I have hopes for it to get better. Stop jumping down everyone's throat, it's pathetic.
Also, I'm not here to argue with you about your "facts" or whatever. I'm really glad to see square enix working to make the game better. Point blank, so please shut up. Don't just assume you know anything.
Lmao, I find this amusing considering YOU CAME ON TO ME first, and claim im jumping down your throat? If you do not fall into the category i mentioned above how about you shut up and go back to whatever you were doing instead of harrassing me for giving a fair opinion?
You know. I will say it's good they announced these changes in an attempt to fix these problems that most people are having with the game right now. However, at the same time I do feel that consumers have the right to complain if they feel they aren't getting quality for thier money.
I fully realized that quality is a relative term and can mean different things to different people, but that can be the case with nearly everything.
Really, what it comes down to is that a trend is emerging with MMOs where games are released before they are ready to be released.
The only way to end a trend like that is to complain and complain hard.
I mean if you try a game and find you're not happy with it you can drop the game before you start paying a monthly fee, but you're out the price for the box. I don't call that fair for the consumer.
But, then I also say there's a right way to complain and a wrong way to complain.
Most of you folks have the right idea. It comes down to do you think you're being treated the way you want to for the money you had to spend. Either way you answer that question you're probably right.

Yes but repairs come in 3 month periods...
The first fix is coming in December... This game will remain the same until December... DECEMBER....
Even if the patch comes out, it won't fix everything... you only got filters for markets, and UI repair... that is it...
Yeah, they are not getting any more of my money...

Did you mean to say "go back to WoW?"
Anyways, I think it's awesome that SE is looking to implement these changes, and that they announced them so soon after release. I don't need much more than that. K THX BYE
The sleeper awakes...and rides his dirtbike to the mall.
No one here cna claim they are trying to make you pay to beta test, they are basically letting everyone play for free until they fix everything they promised. By the time the extended free trial ends, all their major changes should be implimented
That includes, more content, revised features, more balanced, rebalancing of the current features..
I mean if you are still complaining you are just here trying to bash the game and you had no interest in seeing it succeed anyway. During your 2 month free trail you can either play the game or wait, either way this stuff will be fixed.
And auction hosue isnt a fix, its a feature people want that they dont want to impliment, i personally like the ward system, as a pure crafter it lets me work my market place without having to undercut every other crafter because the auction house has run my 30k item down to 3k.
There won't be much in the way of new content before December. Unless the extend their free trial by 60 days instead of 30, they won't meet all the expectations you seem to have for their extension. For November, they're basically working on fixing the UI and the lag with it, and making things more PC-friendly, as well as bug fixes and general polish, I would assume.

Say what now? That is exactly what this game is all about. Obviously you have not played the game at all.
Content? What do you know about the content available?
The more i progress in this game the more content opens up for me. I am having a hard time to finish my 16 regiona/local guildleves every 36 hours. For me there is enough content and its getting mroe every few levels as new areas and leves open up for me.
Just because SE does not tell you anything about the content does not mean there is no content. SE has NEVER been announcing anything regarding content or end game. We had to figure it out all alone in XI and it is the same here.
I understand that this might be confusing to some people. They should play something else. I prefer to discover new things and explore new content without beeing told ahead of time and ruining my experience.

2. How about lowering the damn high system requirements. Game doesn't run on MANY computers. this is the only game I can't play on high. .__.

Not to nitpick, but SE themselves have admitted that this game lacks content & that they will work to put more in in the future. They promised a patch in the future that would add in most of the content that they neglected to include with launch. Last I checked, players were still waiting for that miracle patch to happen.
Before you get too excited, I have played the game. From beta -> launch, and not a whole lot has changed. Now, If I had to guess, based on what happened with XI, I'd say you'll probably have to wait around a year for SE to fill that gap. The big difference is that for XI they did that with the asian audience first, and then released it to the west. For XIV, they are releasing it worldwide all at once. With a less than complete release, this will probably hurt them in the western market (and it already appears to be doing just that).

I have not seen SE say it lacks content. They crumbled under the pressure and are now adding world NM's that will be camped 24/7 and add nothing valuable to the game at all except some overpriced drops and a lot of drama and wasted time. They are adding content demanded by the players. Nothing has been said about the content thats already there and we don't know about since we are barely out of our teens. From what i can see (i am Rank 27) the story leads us towards prime fights (shiva, Ifrit etc.) and new areas we can not yet access. Have you even found the dungeons that are guarded by NPC that wont let you in because youre not strong enough? Have you found the Alamihgo [sic] refugee camp that seems to connect the story and points toward their homelands in the North East not yet accessable? Ishgard?
Have you found the beastmen drop currency like in Dynamis? What is that used for?
Seriously, we know $%^# about the content that is already there and no one should even try to comment on it at this point in the game. Let's talk about it when someone hits cap and finds there is nothing to do.
There is plenty opportunity for content we don't know if it is already there or not because no one has uncovered it yet. This is all speculation at this point.

Well they could extend the time to one year if thats what they think it'll take to finish it.
That said would still need a combat system that isn't a mystery, usable ui, direction and being able to jump before I reinstall.
