GW2 won't be in closed beta until 2012!

The source focuses on blade and soul which is also being published by ncsoft but it gives information on gw2 as well.

 

"Korea-based NCsoft announced financial results for the third quarter on November 4th when its CFO Jaeho Lee indicated that Blade & Soul would launch its first test in 2012. The exact date will be determined based on the trial reports of G-star 2010 players. Furthermore, he said that when the developers have 100% confidence in the game, they will launch CBT or OBT immediately."



"The head of the game expressed, "Blade & Soul should be officially tested after the year 2011. We are dedicated to doing modification work in 2011." Namely, Blade & Soul and Guild Wars 2 won't be tested in 2011. Meanwhile, he said, "the two games are currently in the same development phase, they are more likely to perform a test at the same time."

Thus far I can only find this news on mmosite . It does'nt appear to be anywhere else on the net . It may very well be true but I'm gonna wait and see if other sites report it before taking it seriously . Lots of things appear on the net not all of them factual .

How is it going Razor.  Looking forward to a hard release date but knowing them they  will do it right and release it when its done right and few bugs.  I do wonder if there servers will be able to handle all of the players coming on board when the game goes live though.  This could be the top game out there for some time and i just hope there can handle all the players coming at the start.

I don't think there is anything informative in the report tbh. I'd guess a range between Mar-Nov 2011. If push comes to shove I'd go for a release: Nov 2011.

Dont believe everyhintg that comes from mmosite, it already have some kind of historic for posting fake or misunderstood things...

btw I listened to the report and I remember that he said that the beta for blade & sould and GW2 dont have anything concrete, that they will be basing the beta date for blade & soul based on g-star feedback, so they would work in the game etc...

Whoever wrote this article, its very contradicting (at least the line about GW2).

"Blade & Soul will be mainly modified in 2011 and Guild Wars 2 may start CBT simultaneously" --> simultaneously means at the same time meaning while B&S is being modified in 2011, it will leave space for GW2 to launch CB in 2011.

Then this line: "We are dedicated to doing modification work in 2011." Namely, Blade & Soul and Guild Wars 2 won't be tested in 2011."

Whoever cant see stupidity in this topic, isn't thinking straight. We already discussed this at gw2guru, so dont believe all this nonsence. Anet has the main word anyway.

The hype more or less started at Gamescon this august, even if they started to release stuff a bit earlier. This spring most people never even heard of the game so you are wrong.

While it is very possible that ANET have problem with some part of the game, probably the mists since that is the part least things have been released about I still think the whole thing sounds odd.

Unless I get anything official I will still think the game will release Q2 or Q3 2011.

MMOsite is using this as link bait to get visitors to their site.  Many people have already went through the NCsoft recordings and nothing has been said that MMOsite is reporting.  In fact they do mention that GW2 is "on track".  

 

Unfortunately the info we have about their schedule dates back to last year's report that states beta will be in 2010 with a 2011 release.  I high doubt that their internal schedule is still that.  I'm still guessing a late 2011 release with a beta near release.

Well better late than unfinished. TOR won't come out until late 2011 either so 2011 will be dominated by Cataclysm. By 2012 Cata will be old news and a new expansion won't be announced by then, so 2012 would actually be a good time to release GW 2, as unfortunate as this is for gamers but than again: More time to fill up HoM.

Well i bet they have sold a lot of GW games because of the Hall of Monuments thing, i think i will help them to get resources so they dont have to change the RMT store policy they have now, so its ok for me....

Well if this is true then I guees it will be The Old Republic until further notice unfortunately or I could completely skip The Old Republic and play Torchlight 2 in the spring. Hmmm !

uhg i dont believe this for a second not since its contradictory to every piece of info i have found on GW2's release date says there is no way beta would be postponed untill 2012, heck even if something realy bad happened i dont think it would be pushed back much farther than the middle of 2011 (the beta).

 

not saying it cant be right wrong but based on what im hearing of this sites reputation.... well you get the idea

It was such a short article, didn't see anything on GW2 there. Only thing I saw was about Blade and Soul.

Also the NCSoft quarterly investor report seems to conflict with the information that mmosite put out.

Lol i dont even wanna play gw 2 and i dont belive this. Every thing ive seen on gw 2 states a 2011 release date so that would be a huge push back for a game that has been releasing info at an accelerated rate.
