Thanks once again for the help blood, very useful links.
I will post my finding of the game soon.
Though I am having trouble installing the game, it wants me to have 6gb of space on my C drive which I do not have....I install all my games on a different HDD so is there a way to install it on another HDD?
I hope you enjoy it, or enjoy trying it. I too had to see for myself and tend to agree with the consensus - it's really not a good "game". Restricted content in a game with little in the first place is beyond the pale.
I still have free time to run, but I just can not be arsed to "play".
I am having an issue with login in, I type in my UN and PW but nothing happens
Me too! I made a post about this yesterday on this website, asking if anyone else was experiencing the same problem.
Also, if you go to square enix's website and try to log-in using your UN and PW there, it will do the same thing!
----
I enter my correct Username and Password, click login, and it just "resets" the login window, like I never clicked log in.
Same when I go to the website. I enter my correct username and password, click login, and it just reloads the login page.
----
I plan on using the live chat customers support option here soon once I get out of class again for the day.
I can log onto the website fine, but not the game.
Could you tell me what SE tells you what the issue is? please.
Contact CS. Until then, do a re-install and turn off any Antivirus software running in the background before patching. I had a similar problem in beta.

silly point buuuuut...you are clicking on login, becuase hitting the enter key will not activate the login. Also make sure you have added a character slot to your SE "service plan" style subscription......
I have been avoiding the game due too the huge amount of bad reviews, I have to see the game for myself.
I was a big FFXI fan and am disappointed on what I have been hearing...need to see it with my own eyes.
I've read comments from folks who actually said they liked the game, of course most of them have vanished into thin air in the last couple of weeks but I feel like if you'r interest doesn't lessen upon hearing the criticism then you may as well try it for yourself. It's one thing if the game was full of bugs and hardly worked while making phantom charges on your cc but most of the criticism is of game design which is something a player should always decide for themselves if they care for or not.
It's like me trying to tell you how a Porsche drives, unless you experience it for yourself how would you ever really know what it was like? Now if I told you that the breaks fall of whenever you hit fifty and you still try to drive it.......
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
The suspense is killing me. I think the frog will spit this back up rather quickly, but who knows. Frogs have different tastes.
I know, right? I can't wait to hear what he has to say. Personally, I think he is going to love the game for 2 weeks. Then he will hit that inevitable brick wall, look around, and say wtf was I thinking?
The moment I read "It's like" or "WoW" is the moment I stop reading your post.
lol i hardly go by reviews when gaming, because i def go by different taste. There are other games too I like but I need to see this to the end as well. this is final fantasy so it has the final fantasy feel if the game. I get that by actually playing it. a certain feeling i get killing those classic mobs, reguardless of anything else. I will be here for experience been playing them since ff1... have fun!

Yeah I can simpathize. I really like the idea of how they do the classes and how you can combine skills from them.
But I am stopping myself from trying it out. I know without a shadow of a doubt that the low scores are justified. As per usually reviews are not very insightful and quite emo in what they consider bad/good.
But the game is bad I can tell. Very tragic to me considering I really wish more games would look into this sort of system where players can cobble together their own playstyles. I am tempted to play it just to see how it works out.
But I just refuse to pay money for this on principle. I have played other games simply to satisfy my curiosity with no intention of staying long term but I won't do it with this one.
For those who are still confused on the character creation system, you can't make anymore characters because the game is $10 a month, with $3 extra per character, not because of the server load.
Anyways, I definitely enjoyed this game for a good amount of time. I joined via buddy pass so I have nothing to regret, I do have hopes for the game, even if that's slowly dying down. I suggest you find an active Linkshell (guild), it made a difference when I hop into a teamspeak server with my Linkshell everytime I played. Many of us enjoy the idea of not having to roll an alt, and the crafting system is also rather nice, despite the horrible UI. Anyways, it's not worth playing atm when in a few months, the grind will be much easier for new players that don't have to spend 3x the amount of time it should take to finish a synthesis, due to the UI delay. There IS an update for late Nov regarding the UI, so maybe I'll be on much more often then.
Btw - Trabia is the 'unofficial' world of Eorzeapedia, it's also the unofficial RP world, if that helps.
Yes, the game does have some issues to work out, which hopefully is taken careof on the november patch, but graphics are definetly top notch, good music, and altho slow start the storyline is interesting. Just like FF11 when it first came out, it was pretty rough, but as time went on they made it much easier on a lot of aspects, so im sure the same will end up happening here.
I just managed to get under an hour worth of gameplay last night, so I have not seen all that much yet but it sure is pretty! Also the controls don’t seem all that bad.
I will be playing more tonight, hopefully more than an hour heh.

I'm just sorry I can't post a video or a sound bite of Nelson from the Simpsons going "HA HA!"
