Just wondering what everyone is waiting for, and why don't you currently play atm. Let's keep it constructive.
I don't play it because of lack of the solo content and the game being to guild based. Hopefully it will change soon!

I'm against paying to work as a beta tester.
I'm not playing this game.
Why not? ... Because it pissed on me.
That was during beta (not the released beta), but I simply don't believe in the core philosophies these devs seem to have.
On a positive note, I had more fun in MO than I had in FFXIV

I have played on and off since beta - my account is currently close though.
I returned about 2 months ago and was really not all that impressed with the progress, my brother plays still but he seems to log in less and less. I guess there are a few reasons I can't seem to keep my account active:
1. The population: it's small, painfully small and it seems to be getting smaller. I remember my brother stayed the night a few months ago and we went out to pvp together, it was early morning, but we found 1 person to pk - that was it, one single person between vadda, medulii, and fabernun who was far enough away from town we could actually fight him.
2. A big one, the AI is terrible- I mean awful - All you have to do is create an archer and sit on a horse and 90% of the mobs wont even respond to me shooting them. Yes it's easy to farm, but it's not fun and it's not challenging. I enjoy pvp, but I also want to pve from time to time.
I want this game to succeed and I often think of returning, but so far I am just not impressed with the progress.
I can agree with this about the devs, I also have some issues with how they've handled their public relations - have been really unimpressed with many of the things said in IRC, specifically by Henrik - these guys are awfully cocky for theirat best mediocre product.
Also been very upset with the way they've released numerous half broken patches time and time again - sometimes introducing very obvious and very serious bugs into the game.
Entire game is laughable. Combat is slow, button mashing, and very little skill required. World is empty with no sand in the box. Other players speak English poorly to the point where you feel like you are talking to a seven year old.
Having to "sheath" and "unsheath" your fists made me laugh hysterically all the way to the uninstall button.
That can't be serious...
Know very little about it but if I remember it correctly I saw the game was 1st person which for me was a deal breaker before even looking into it further.
I'm not playing the game simply because I tried playing it once before when the game was just getting ready to release and couldn't get it to run. The patcher wasn't working properly, when I finally got it up and going (which was a task in itself) I zoned in to a mostly incomplete and empty world... it was at that time I removed the game from my hard drive and never looked back.
The game could be miles ahead now, but according to the most recent videos I've seen and the community that comes here from the MO boards, it would be a complete waste of my time and energy.
Apparently the number of concurrent users at European prime times averages out to around 150. This is a figure floating around amongst the GM team and some of the devs.
First person and open full loot PvP not my cup of tea. I am not the market for this type of game anyway.
I am not currently playing because I want them to spend a bit more time to get the game to a better state before I give them money again. I bought the game and I support SV on the forums as much as I can because I believe in their vision, but I don't think its current state justifies a subscription.
I fully intend to return once the game has evolved a bit more though...
i played the first 3 months and i have to say it was fun even with all the buggs.
i'v made armor crafters, weappons crafters, a few warriors, mages, slag hauler, extractors, tamers (yes i deleted many almost finished chars ) and pretty much tried most combinations aveilable in those 3 months.
unfortunately once all the discovering was done there was nothing else to do. i didn't want to go red with my warrior and so the only thing left was to farm wisents for gold or go look for pvp with guild mates. i say "go look for pvp" because that's what 90% of the pvp was.....riding arround for hours looking for a fight that most of the time was over in a few minutes of pretty buggy and glitchy chaos.
it got to the point that i just didn't feel like loggin on anymore just to kill wisents and hang arround town with nothing to do. even making gold lost it's appeal fast since there was not much need for it once you were in a guild.
once you reach end game and have some gold, some mats, a few weappons and armor, are in aguild, there is just nothing to do. it's at this point that you start noticing all the bugs and glitches this game has. i probably would have kept playing had this game being almost bug free, but lack of content on top of a mountain of bugs was just not worth the sub money anymore.
The game's developers simply do not posess the coding skills to create an MMO. They have shown again and again that they are incapable of producing quality content, or indeed any working content at all.
I wanted this game to work, as I liked the concepts, but it is without doubt the worst MMO on the market. I have had more fun in the free Korean MMO's, and that is from someone who vastly prefers UO style gameplay to EQ style gameplay (to you young 'uns, EQ is the game WOW is based on).
They are also the most unprofessional "dev team" ( I use the word loosely) I have ever seen. Henrik seems to think it's ok to regularly go on IRC and flame/troll/insult his paying customers. Unbelievable behaviour from a CEO.
I could go on, but will just point people at the bug list instead.
I guess for me is all the bugs and glitches I have read is keeping me from it. I definitly want to give it a try. It has allot going for it as far as combat, crafting, and many other things ,but with no trial period, I dont want to spend about $44 to purchase the game when I may decide that the glitches are to numerous or that its simply not for me. I have done that to many times before. But if they ever decide there game is ready for a trial, I'll be there to give it a whirl.
No PvE (I don't consider hitting standing still NPC's or running headless chicken kinds)
Glitches everywhere
Some glitches forcing you to even recreate your character.
No meaningful market available
Missing parts (very hard to get a basic armor set, you have to run around naked (correcting:in rags) for hours to be able to get something)
The game's concept seems right up my alley.
However, I've been following it for a while and cant seem to avoid all the negative hype. And after reading about some of the main coders prior experience(one this is his first game. He coded milk machines prior to working on MO), I find it hard to believe the game is better than the hype.
To top it off, hearing some of the antics of the CEO doesn't bother me, but his financial report does.
Sorry, but I wont give my money to a company for a product that is sub-par to other products of the same price. I put my money where I get the most value from it. And the fact that the game has so many problems deters me.
Also, no US server? No thanks. I like decent ping. No game is worth playing laggy.
I would guess somewhere around 5 Billion of us do not play the game. Many dont play because they dont have access to either computers or the internet. Another large chunk don't play because they dont like computer games. The rest of us have about as many reasons as their are people on this earth. For me there was nothing appealing in the descriptions of the game, the people supporting the game or the descriptions of how buggy the game was/is.
Mostly because of the PvP focus and hard core; no carebear approach to the game. I understand that they are fighting a tough battle to keep the game as tough and rugged as possible for hard core PvPers, but to me, there needs to be some form of care bear in a game, otherwise it's less about gaming and more about min/maxing, raging, etc
I just don't find that fun. It goes without saying that some people do find that fun, though.

this
exactly
(oh, and the whole skillpoint system)
I really want to play the game, but I'm pretty much waiting for It to finally be playable.
That is, when the community says It's playable.
Right now a 14 day Darkfall trial is far more appealing.
It is. Sheathing and unsheathing your weapon is defaulted to X I believe. In order to unsheath your hands you have to press X
I don't play it.
Mostly because I have never been driven to check it out and am pretty happy with the games I'm playing now.
"WHAT!? HAPPY?! WHY ARE YOU HERE!?"
Oh well, I wasn't happy with a particular game and this seemed like as good as place as any to express that.
(as that seems to be the way to bunp threads you like the content of)
