Watching vids like this one you can see a very vivid similarity to the current known grinders out there. You run around in an area with lots of the same kinda mobs and kill as many as you can. You see this in Aion you see this in Silk Road you see this in Rappelz and others. The similarities are there if you choose not to see them its not my fault but they are there. Thats all that I am saying after seeing this and a few others I get the feeling that it might be more on the Asian grind side than anything else.
Even the grouping vids show the same kinda stuff take your group find a mass of mobs and kill em all. It maybe be different but all that is available shows its not. And as far as devs go i dont trust em as far as i can throw them. We got the same kinda mess from WAR the devs tell us one thing but when you get to it, its not anything like they led us to believe.
I dont know what you've been smoking, but 99% of mmos have areas full of the same kind of mobs.I see similarities with every mmo i have played and neither of them was an Asian grinder. I really cant believe you are even posting this.
Edit: Now,how you linked TERA's devs with WAR's devs is really beyond me.
This is making you look even worse than an ignorant troll in my eyes...
And im guessing you didnt watch any of the other vids available from that link. there are group vids links there that show groups in dungeons that look just like Rappelz. Mass group of mobs with everyone just attacking whatever no group cohesion just random attacking whatever is closest just like the current grind style. I cant do all the research for you but really your not going to pursuade me and I am not going to pursaude you. So i guess we will jsut have to wait and see what happens but for your sake i hope im wrong because this game just looks like its going to be another failed attempt at innovation.

You really keep making no sense.
There are just two answers:
1. You are drunk.
2. You are just making things up.
I give up, you can keep thinking whatever you want for no actual reason. At least keep your drunk/crap/stupid theories to yourself.

Well, since your mind will not be changed, I will try to answer your points for anyone else who might be reading.
First off, the video you linked is over a year old and the game still has not released yet. Basing assumptions off of footage from over a year before release is not the most accurate way to go about doing so. Many things have changed since then, including the variety of quest types available. Those mobs were also quest mobs. Players who could not read korean, and could not do many quests since they didn't know what was required, were able to make it into the 20s without grinding during the last korean test. Granted this does not mean that there could be no grinding later on. Enmasse has stated that you will be able to reach max level without grinding at all.
For group vids, there are several different "sizes" of mobs in instances. Smaller mobs in large groups don't require much coordination to take out. AoE and attack where you like. You also have larger elite mobs which are capable of killing party members if they go and aggro one and are not a tank. And of course there are bosses which regularly one shot squisies if they do not notice one of the bosses tells and avoid the attack.

I'm going to be real with you...its seems that you prejudged the game based on it having Asian developers. Otherwise you wouldn't use the term Asian Grinder. Linking video with mobs being killed aimlessly doesn't show you at all that the game is a grinder. I challenge you to check out any youtube vid of any other MMO and you will see the same thing.
To me it seems like your posts lack reason and have mob mentality of hating on Asian games.
I would respect your opinion more if it based on something solid. Like "I don't like the non-target gameplay" or "It looks likea grinder because of *****". However just looking at trailers and a stress test video (where people want to see combat) and saying it going to be a grinder because people are attacking mobs is not a great way to argue your point.
While the game looks nice graphically the combat looks like typical console type combat to me. I could be wrong as I havent really looked into this game at all as I havent seen anything to get me personally interested. Some aspects of console combat are interesting but overall I dont see anything in this so far to push combat to any new level or anything(not that I have seen that in any other game yet either).
As for the whole grind / Not grind issue. My definition of grind is a boring repetitive action that is not fun but required by gameplay mechanics. The keywords highlighted. Something can be required and repetitive but if its fun its not grind. Something can be boring but if its not repetitive its not grind and if its not required and its boring just skip it.
So just because a game requires you to kill thousands of mobs does not necessarily make it a grind unless that activity is boring. In such a case if that is what the game is built around and you find the core game mechanic boring then the obvious answer is dont play the game.
Overall Grind is a personal viewpoint which will vary from game to game and person to person. Therefore arguing the grind question in a forum is kind of pointless and both sides will probably just go round and round saying they are right and the other person is wrong when both of them are probably right from their own viewpoints.
Instead of arguing grind you can argue that spending 500 hours killing mobs is boring and therefore you think the game will suck or some other point is something perhaps worth arguing over.

There isnt an actual argument here.Since that guy is an obvious troll. He watched 4-5 videos with players killing mobs and he claimed TERA to be an asian grinder for that. Go figure....
As for the combat, it might not appeal to everyone but at least its a step forward in AAA mmos. I am really looking forward to seeing how manual dodging/blocking will feel like in an mmo, both in pve and pvp.I am being positive so far, but untill i get my hands on it, i can't be certain on how it will feel ingame.

This was the most informative post I have gotten thru this entire ordeal. There was no insta hate or /nerd rage at all. He read what i posted visited the link looked at the other vids available thru that link and informed me that they are old footage. Also he implied that maybe the group vids arent doing the game much justice because there are encounters that require strategy and cohesion but the ones I have seen only show the large groups of mobs that requre none. He also pointed out that Enmasse a webiste maybe or magazine that i havent read has some information about the lack of grind required.
He never once attacked me on a personal level nor did he say that my opinion wasnt valid. Her merely pointed out that my opinion may have been formed over dated information and that there might be a reason to look some more and dig a little deeper. I myself have moved past listening to anything devs say because its their job to tell us what we want to hear so we play their game. We got the AoC devs the WAR devs the Aion devs and a slew of others that have said one thing and gave us another so instead of telling me to visit the official site and swallow what they say hook line and sinker maybe some one could have said hey there are better vids go here. Or hey there are articles here try that see what you think. But none of that happend at all, the only responses giving were personal attacks that realisitcally wouldnt inspire anyone to do anything but defend their rights to form opinions. Even if that opinion is formed based on dated information or incomplete information it still does not mean its not valid, it just means that maybe instead of insta rage try to actually provide some real information or atleast sources to find more up to date information. Thanks bygeorge ill dig around some more and see if i cant find some more recent stuff, those vids at that link were just what comes up when i search for Tera gameplay vids Ill try to search a bit harder maybe the more recent vids arent as easy to find and that could have been the issue all along.

Soraksis, you can trust us , this game haves no hype, and it will really change MMO's for good, even GW2 arenanet are taking Tera's new ideas for their own game
And about mobs and grind, every persistent world have identical mobs, but in this game its always 1 hard mob with those normal mobs so you need to be careful with aggro, and after L20, mobs start to hurt as they use more UI to avoid your hits and spells
Another word goes to people in youtube , they tell game seems too easy , but developers told some top level instances are really very hard, and needs a lot of group coordination to be successful
And im guessing you didnt watch any of the other vids available from that link. there are group vids links there that show groups in dungeons that look just like Rappelz. And the last post you just made, leads to the conclusion that you actually admit you are ignorant. You posted your faulse opinion on this game based on actually nothing(other than 4-5 videos you maybe watched).Instead you could ask for information as many others did.But no, you had to post your ignorant/trolling opinion.
And again, if you actually cared about this game, you would either ask information about it,or you could just visit the official TERA website to inform yourself. Instead you just posted :
"The more videos I watch about this game the more and more it starts to look like an asian grindfest with a new aiming system. Combat looks the same as any other MMO you have your 1-9 action bar buttons you just have an FPS style aiming reticle you have to keep on target. And reading about the different classes on the official site they seem like they will be missing something. Not sure what it is but I dont think this game will be as good as people think."
Just an advice: Stop replying to this thread, you just keep proving yourself wrong and making yourself look like a stuborn ignorant troll.
Not going to waste any more time with you.Good luck implying common sense into your brain.

This is THE greatest MMORPG to come out yet, stop MOANING about having to EARN your levels.
