if thats the quality of tor ,well ,i really hope they can do better ,that made me hate Star Wars.
The music was pretty dang good I agree, but as for the rest, compared to what other MMO out there exactly? Personally I was never into the tank type of toon, but this trailer now has me interested. The graphics are top notch or close to it, the animations seem solid, and the art style while not my personal preference, is still pretty dang good.
I can't help but thinking that the only reason you even made this post is because you think it may hurt whatever MMO you currently play as I am pretty sure it will hurt the two I play as well. Does that really scare you so much? Think of it this way then, maybe it will force your game to actually step up to the plate and make some improvements for a change instead of just expecting you to shell out more money for very little more than the same basic game play you have had before.

I agree that the text part of it may have been a little corny which is right in line with how ads work. Thats EA. As for the video itself? that actually made me want to play star wars (I even loaded up kotor afterwords and played a tank class) so to each their own.
We will see how the ad works.
Note: if you didn't see the trooper actually knocks the sith out of his force jump in mid air. Can't recall an MMO doing that before.

I take it I am not the only one to notice the red implant in the sith warrior's eye right?
nope. Looks cool.
Overall, the Trooper trailer didn't quite have the same feeling of "ommph" for me that the Smuggler's did. Some cool little reveals such as the heavy blaster and such, it also warms my heart when I see a force-user getting pwned in a "normal" class's trailer. But that's just a personal thing there. Anyway, from what I see from the update overall it looks like the Trooper and the Smuggler might be very closely tied for the class I roll with on the Republic side of things (I do plan on playing at least one class from each side... one non force-sensitive class at least)
I just thought I would add this old video as an addition to this thread, just to give people something of an idea of what the developers have in mind for this class.
Good call on that link BarakIII. Really is nice to see how in-depth they went with the trooper AND to see the improvements made over time when you watch those videos back to back.
