Nice, but i must say that this game is not ready for release yet. I can see Mortal Online kind of mess happening all over again.

I hope so too because right now the company refuses to do any kind of open beta before release. The combat makes or breaks this game so if they are not offering open beta maybe they got something to hide?

Any sign of some kind of accessible beta?

No way in hell I'm going to preorder an indie MMO without trying it first.

I think they ran out of money.

^ most likely, I won't buy it either w/o some form of a trial.

"An MMORPG could be completely diffirent from WoW. Just look at games like Dofus, Wizard101 or EVE. But as it is, most of the Western MMOs are trying to succeed by out-WoWing WoW. It's like an army of 10 sports games made about same sports, and barely none about other sports. WoW clone is an accurate description of those games, it manages to convey much information with only two words."

6 years development 3 game versions all out of cash so a rush release and pray for some player investment to get the game remotely playable/ pay investors.

TBH this mentality is why youre seeing MMO's reluctant to run open beta's, beta is a testing phase, not a free trial.

Well so much for dreaming that this will be the Sci-Fi MMO I was waiting for. *sound of toilet flushing*

I went to the main page and the first thing I thought was:

"Wooh the girl from Tabula Rasa dyed her hair white and let it grow out!"

Unfortunately I doubt this will be half as much fun to play :(

Yeah i understand that arguement but in the past i've ran 2 Eve accounts and another Mo at the same time, but to do this now for many is and myself is not viable due to the finacial meltdown.I was in Fallen Earth Alpha/beta as a tester cause FE was a bloody mess in Alpha, but they turned it around there is no way on earth i would have subbed if i had not had the chance to test or try the game i would have passed it by just like Earthrise.

There's actually an argument that masthead was out of money and someone posted a link that they are doing very well financially. So i dont know where you guys get your sources, but please post some proof if you're going to state that they are out of money as you claim.

Would not doubt it, and the bean counters are screaming to get it out there so we can recover some development costs, I might play the game, for a short time depends, plus I am sure they want to get it out before TOR hits, that is most likely going to be the largest launch of 2011,, time will tell, I wish them good luck..:)

Yet another example of why the government needs to step in and penalize these companies for releasing an obviously unfinished product to consumers.

If there was any decent MMO released in past 5 years, no one would ask for a trial before release.

Besides, pretty much every recent MMO had some kind of accessible beta, so it's not like they're reluctant.

Also, times when open betas were for stress testing are long gone. Like it or not.

It's simple, no open beta, no buy.

TBH this mentality of selling unfinished buggy glitched products(for the same initial price that you would buy a single player game) with little to no info on how the game plays out and hope to get initial sales numbers then fix the game later which in a sense turns the release into a paid open beta is why you are seeing people want to use open beta's as a free trial.

I cant believe tho after only showing 1 gameplay video a few weeks back which didnt look much better than the one they showed almost 2 years ago, that they are releasing in a little over a month from now.

I am still intereted in the game and will likely try it, especially if the first month subscription is free like most MMOs are.  I don't agree with this Open Beta being necessary, though.  Single player games usually will release demos, which is nice, but Beta is for testing.  We are fortunate to be able to test and try out an MMO that offers an Open Beta, but think back on how many games you purchased for your PC or any system that you didn't try before hand.  I say as long as the first month is free, Open Betas for MMOs are as bonus to us and should not be a requirement for you to buy.  Who knows, Earthrise could turn out surprisingly good.  I admit, I would be very surprised.

Maibe 10 years ago, but now open beta are trials. With all the crapy release we seen the last 5 years i cant blame anyone for that.

This is with this kind of mentality that we see unfinished product with no way to try it before paying. Even single player game has a demo.

First off, open Beta is usually more a marketing gimmick than anything else.  My guess is you won't get any more information from an open Beta than a closed beta, testing wise.

On that note, the game is not ready,  another company who did not spend their investment money wisely, needs to put an unfinished product out in the public domain before the debt collectors get everything.

Hope it is playable for those that try it.  Spending money on a game like this is something you do without expecting much.
