ADVANCED CLASSES
- Each of the advanced classes is a full, flexible class with various trees that allow specialization.
- Choosing an Advance Class is a mandatory; not picking an Advanced Class is not an option.
- Each advanced class have three trees at their disposal. Two are specific to the advanced classed you chose, the third one is shared.
- The main goal of the Advanced Class System is to allow you to customize your characters according to your play style
STORY CONTENT
Class stories (class quests)
- 8 completely different class stories.
- They are divided into three chapters.
- Each class story is at least the size of one mass effect trilogy.
- Fully soloable, you can still group if you wish.
- Only your decisions count when interacting with NPC's.
- Enough to get our characters to level cap.
World Quests
- Standard MMO or Singleplayer RPG quests.
- Someone have a problem and you help them solve it.
- Can be done solo or in group.
World Arcs
- Quest chains that go from 4 to 10+ quests.
- They follow a storyline across an entire planet.
- Big decisions and branchings questlines you may have to play multiple times to see all the content.
- Only repeatable in a different playthrough.
- Build for long play sessions or a series of short sessions.
- They may stretch for over dozens of hours
- Can be done solo or in group.
Flashpoints - Demo from 2009
- Instanced, heavily scripted major story and action pieces.
- Designed to bring the best of Bioware multiplayer storytelling.
- Built to be played in a single sitting.
- Can be done solo or in group.
- Dificulty scales according to party numbers.
- Repeatable.
- If you repeat a flashpoint the last story decision will count for later events.
- Former decisions of yours in that flashpoint, will be erased.
QUEST / DIALOGUE SYSTEM - Watch Sample - Sample 2
- Full voice over for all the characters in the game (male/female).
- You can make decisions that will affect future events, changing the way you play through the game. This stands for all the quest types mentioned earlier.
- You get a mass effect style interface when talking to NPC's.
- You get three options (lightside, darkside, neutral).
- They all have cinematic moments, similiar to what you see in the movies. Diferent camera angles, etc.
- There is a quest tracker in the game.
Multiplayer Dialogue - Sample
-Classes each have different dialogue answers/options in the group quests.
- Multiplayer dialogue is based on a roll. Anyone can win, if three people voted for an option and the other one voted a completely different one, he could still win.
- Some equipment change stats that will raise your chance to win a roll in a MP dialogue.
- You still get the points (lightside/darkside) for the option you chose, even if other player who had selected a different option wins the roll.
MORALITY SYSTEM
- It's a system in the game, that allows you to be a lightside, grey (neutral) or a darkside character.
- You gain lightside / darkside points according to the decisions you make when questing.
- If you go darkside, your character begins to show signs of corruption just like in the movies.
- It determines the way you character progresses (not much details on that yet).
- It changes the way companions interact with you. They may or may not like you, depending on your morality.
COMPANION CHARACTERS
- Every class will have multiple companions (more than 5 less than 10, number is not confirmed yet).
- Each companion have their own story.
- They interact with you while you are talking with NPC's, they might try to influence you.
- They can sell your junk items, without you having to go to vendors.
- They craft for you, you are their "boss". You pay them to work for you!
- The customization options for companions in therms of equipment, are as much as our own character.
- Each companion have a standard role (tank, dps, healer) but you can buy AI KIT's and chance their behavior, according to your needs.
- Companion characters will be usefull in flashpoints. If there is a missing person in a group, the players can all bring their companions characters and have an healing team for example.
- Companions may like or dislike your, they may even leave you if you treat them bad or they don't like the way you handle things.
- You can kill companion characters (not all of them) but you will loose them forever.
Affection system
- Companions may like or dislike you, they may even leave you if you treat them bad or they don't like the way you handle things.
- You can kill companion characters (not all of them) but you will loose them forever. You can always start a new character of the same class
- The higher the affection your companions have for you, the faster they work when crafting.
CREW SKILLS (CRAFTING) - Video Explanation
- There are three types of crafting skills (crafting, mission, gathering).
- There are 14 professions spread throw those three skills.
- You can have a maximum of three skills, only one of which can be crafting. So you could have a mission skill, gathering skill and crafting skill or two gathering and one crafting, etc.
- You can send companions to harvest (if you have the gathering skill, scavenging) resources. Your avatar can also harvest, but cannot craft items.
- You can send your companions on missions, they will bring you rewards.
- Rewards, can be resources, items or lightside/darkside points depending on the missions you choose.
- Missions can have criticals, meaning you could get better rewards.
- Some of the best items in the game are going to come from crafting.
- To be a master crafter it will required effort.
- Some of the recepies of crafting are going to be rare and limited per server. Meaning only a few people will be able to create a certain type of item.
- You will be able to brand your crafted items so people know who made it.
- Crafting will work while you are offline. Basic items take like from 3 to 4 minutes to make... other items may take 24 hours or more to complete.
- Your ship will be the base of operations and the spot were the crafting table will be.
- No details on Auction House system till now.

COMBAT - Trailer
- The combat is fast paced.
- Pyshics are part of the game, you can use skills to counter moves from other players in real-time.
- Destructable objects in environments were seen in a flashpoint, still unknown it they are spread through the world.
- The animations are syncronized in real time, meaning there is contact between melee weapons. You can parry multiple enemies.
- You will always fight 3/4 mobs at one time, starting at lower levels.
- Humanoid mobs, take cover at a certain distance and they fight melee with you when you are close to them. Some mobs may even try to flank you if you're not careful.
- Each class have an revive ability for companions and players (used out of combat).
- Each class have a recuperate ability that recharges your HP and ammo/energie/force.
Cover system
- The smuggler and imperial agent classes will be able to use cover, similiar to mass effect.
- You have different skills when you enter cover mode.
More details about combat in the next few months.
PVP FEATURES
Warzones - Watch Video
- There will be instanced PvP zones. They are called Warzones!
- These zones feature 8 vs 8 combat. They are testing and the values might change for bigger in the future.
- Companions will probably be able to join the fight also, even though it seems that the number is limited. Something like two companions per side.
- You are going to be able to queue to join the warzones.
- You are instantly teleported to them and in the end, you're teleported back to the same spot you were before.
- There will be a matchmaking system, that will provide fun fights and rapid deploy.
- Warzones are going to scale each 5 levels. Example: warzone level 15, 20, 25, etc.
- There are going to exist several PvP gear sets. These sets start at level 15 and go to level 50 and there are multiple different sets (at least at level 50).
- You can gain XP through PvP.
- The 1st warzone is in the planet alderaan, where both factions try to control some huge anti-vehicle turrets to destroy ships and active a massive planetary cannon. See here
- You will not see a HP bar as the objective is attacked but you will see flames, debris and smoke to indicate damage.
- If you die you respawn on the ship and you will see damage and hear klaxxons inside as well.
- The 2nd warzone is confirmed to be in an delerict startship and it features an assault type mechanic.
- There will be several PvP features in SWTOR, besides warzones.
- Open World PvP is confirmed and also other PvP features to come.
END-GAME
- Legacy system is confirmed, bioware wants to motivate players to re-roll and try other character stories (No details yet).
- Raids are confirmed (No details yet).
- Bioware confirmed they are working in some new type of endgame.
MINI-GAMES
Space Combat - Trailer
- It's a tunnel shooter type of game, there will be multiple missions.
- Those missions take from 2 to 8 minutes to complete.
- It's a singleplayer experience. No PvP or co-op at launch, probably just in an expansion.
Other mini-games will be added here as they are revealed.
And don't forget all you see in this game is a work in progress and can be sudently changed.
As new information is released i will update this post.

Great write up slpr. Always glad to see more people helping with the information stream.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
Yes, nice write up :-). I look forward to the announcement of more planets and the secret class where you can transform into a Wookiee lol.
There Is Always Hope!
don't know about you guys and i am probably in a minority but i love that i can solo in a game and finally achieve maximum playthrough with a MMO - my friends aren't into these games and i normally get people who only want to finish there agendas then it just kills my Mojo to play anymore - this game is like a dream game for me.
There is nothing wrong with that. I think its good that they offer that option. I tend to like to play through several play styles. Sometimes I am in the mood to solo, sometimes I want to group, sometimes I want to PVP. I'm glad we will have a game that offers something for everyone.
There Is Always Hope!
If i'm not mistaken, they also said that the classes each have different dialogue answers/options in the group quests so you might want to add that too.
I have been waiting for this game since soe broke my heart first in april and then in november 2005. Been getting more excited by the week with the new updates, but recent news worries me. I would hate to see an item mall come in and ruin economy. I don't have any desire to play a twich action game, otherwise I would just play black ops. Rumors of delay til holiday '11 are truely disheartening.
My main complain is EA tho, having experiance dealing with them in WAR just really turns me off. They are as supportive as a seat made of jello. I've been told by their customer support that they didn't care about my concerns and that they had no obligation to help me at all.
EA and the rabid fans of the SW genre just have no way of mixing well.
Done! It's so many things that i can't remember all.
well hopefully the item mall will be optional things that don't grant someone advantage such as the Celestrial Horses in WOW. That type of item is always a welcome option IMO. No need to worry yet since we probably won't know any details for some time to come.
There Is Always Hope!
Monthly subscriptions are confirmed! The only microtransations i expect are the usual ones... things like character server transfer, appearance change, race change. Stuff like that.
In the next few months well see... the game is so close! I can't even believe it, in 4 months the game will probably be near launch. From some feedback i heard from testers the game have a very high chance of making the spring 2011 mark. If it gets pushed to end of 2011 i don't mind... i just want an awesome game in every level.
If i write the word "game" one more time i'll jump off the building.
Thats awesome news from what you are hearing from the testers. What else are they saying? :-) lol
There Is Always Hope!
That it is a game :P sorry had to do that.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
Well, it seems alot of them are really loving the game and they say it's awesome. If it's true or not... we have to wait and see for ourselfs.
Despite not being thrilled with the art style I will be picking up the CE I'm sure. I just can't help myself.
Great to hear Slpr, hopefully we will get more info this friday (from which i'll be updating the full feature list that day). Now just becareful when you jump off that building. You'll want to survive it when you go to play ToR later.

Yeah, can't wait to tomorrow. But i won't raise expectations because it's new years eve. And no i won't jump off the building eheh.
Great wrap-up ***** stars!
I would slightly change the above as players will only be able to equip their companions not tweak their body features. Your entry can be misleading.
Body customization wise you can add there will be 4 body choices per races. And most of the character's body customization will be done by selecting faces options through the various choices (hair, eye: type, color ; face type)
There will be mounts in the game, however it hasn't been officially confirmed in a bold statement
On a side note, you can't kill a character of your own faction and don't expect player bounties either. Was said long time ago, it can be very unfun for one of the parties involved.
PvP wise there will be specific PvP rewards and PvP gear with specific stats.
The tunnel shooter is mostly avoidable, however it's been said to go through your whole class story you will be required to experience it a bit. Still these missions won't be the hardest ones.
You can skip the dialogs, hitting space (if I remember well). There will be optional subtitles.
Finally a colorblind option is in the game.
thank you very much.

Customization in therms of equipment. This is just a resume i will not add all the features here, there is other topic in this forums with all the information. But for those who don't have patient reading all information, they can always come here and read a few things about the game.

You're welcome
Happy new year to everyone! It's already 2011 here in Portugal and i'm a little drunk!
OK definitely just sounds like a single player game where you can talk to people when you wish....
and playing through over and over? I don't have alts for a reason as I get bored shitless.....
going to give it a miss....
Might want to look at the features list. All it really is, is an MMO with raids, groups, pvp, crafting with an interactive story included.
All the same basic features but instead of walls of text and linear quest, you have voice overs and chances to change the outcome of those quests.
