Guild Wars has been called not a MMO for many years by many gamers, and that game has far more MMO features than this one does.
Crafting can work why not ? I mean look at Wile E Coyote he is always crafting and trying to catch the Road Runner and even though those Acme designs are buggy he sticks with it. Okay he is not a supervillain but still he tries.

No, but there is a wolf, fox, lion, and a couple other furry options. You select brown skin color and you're reasonably close. Add technology tree and THERE YA GO!
