It can't be too old, it's cleary partly in response to the character creator screenshots that have been going around. It's nice to know there's still a chance for greater body design than just four physical types.

This is an awesome example of OP troll post that instead of bashing the game it instead raises the game to whole new heights of win due to the replies of others. Very nice info about Star Wars and the validity of the timeline etc too!

Clearly it's not the best thing to start whining about The Old Republic if you have only seen the movies 4-6.

Hoping Twi'lek get to choose tattoos like Darth Talon in char customization since they obviously wont have many hair choises and so on, or perhaps get some nice tattoo choises after a certain feat. image Maybe not for the best if we see every Twi'lek running around tattooed *shrug*

    A few comments...

Chewy is a sidekick in the movies and all the other Wookiees are more or less part of the side.  In the game, you can get a Wookiee sidekick.

The timeframe on the game takes place in which Siths were not limited to 2.  An "army of siths" is pretty common in many books and some of the actual lore.

They have a healthy selection of races and give the races meaning.  Simply put, if you see a blue dude with purple hair running across your screen you won't be thinking "what a tool" like many other games that give ridiculous options.

    Race selection isn't finished.

    "by Grunch" ;)

I'm kind of getting tired of the constant rape of the timeline as well. Let me guess the next game will take place 2837461487156341764154164 years before the first movie yet the technology will still be the same. Did George Lucas tell these people they can ruin the past of Star Wars but can't touch the future post Vader time period? I don't get how the technology is just as good if not better then 3000 years later.

I changed my mind I'm not even going to try it since they have a limited species selection.

    and again wookiepedia:

The first lightsabers came into being when Jedi combined advanced offworld technology with a forging ritual, learning how to "freeze" a laser beam. By the time of the Duinuogwuin Contention around 15,500 BBY, their studies and researches with this "frozen blaster" technology yielded success; they developed a method to generate a focused beam of energy that arced circumferentially back to its source, creating a controlled energy circuit and leading to the first portable high-energy blades.

so im affraid no matter what we wont see any SW game dating previous to 15500 BBY (no lightsabers = no "true" SW ;) )

again misslead by the dark side U are my friend...

    edit:

added post im answering to ;)

And please keep in mind with all the "there will be more playable races down the line" stuff that this game will be incredibly hard to add races. The missions and plots and all of that stuff will have to be edited to fit the new races. For example if you take that said Wookiee dude, he is like 2.5 meters long. That will already in it self mess up a lot of the movie style closeups and points of view in it self. Let alone, as the game is bound to have some race related quests as well as career related quests. As well as the common ones to one side or everyone stuff. In order to make your story yours, you need to have all sorts of variables in there to make it "unique".

And, no, I'm not Daniel Ericsson... Not that I'm not happy with my life, but that would be a sweet job...

The only thing I'm saying is that don't get too hyped about the idea that they will be adding all of the known races from the Star Wars universe as playable races to the game. It is way more complex to add one to this game than all of the other MMO's we've seen so far. But what do I know, it might be really simple.

I really don't want to play as an alien. The whole adventure of original trilogy etc. was that you could relate to Luke Skywalker getting whisked away to an incredible adventure... With droids and aliens running around.

And if you haven't seen the documentary, Chewbacca was Lucas' dog. Who sat on the shotgun seat in his car while driving to work while making the first movie, or laying ground work to it. So he added his dog to the film, and now you want to play as the dog??? And Han was supposed to be a Rodian. And Luke's original last name was Starkiller. But you've probably seen the documentary so I don't need to go any further with this.

Yeah but what if I want to play as my friends sidekick? This is just their way of putting another wheel on the rail.

Who says you can't play as a sidekick? you just can't play as a wookie one. And I dont really see how limiting races as a issues since the majority of MMOS only have a limited number of races to choose from and as pointed out in this threasd, the majority of races offered are just variations of humaniod types.

    In Bioware we trust!

I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around someone WANTING to be a sidekick.  Isn't the whole idea of a game like this to be a hero?  I guess if you and a certain friend ALWAYS play together at the same time, for the same amount of time then it could be fun, but that just seems so limiting.  Seriously, who chooses to be "the boy wonder" when you can be "Batman" instead?  Oh well, just my opinion as usual.

If you really want to play the side kick, the whole "this is the hero's story" theme of this game is wrong for you... This is essentially the story of Anakin and Luke Skywalker. The rest of the characters are side kicks. Bioware has been very open about the fact that you are the HERO and get to feel like the HERO or ANTI-HERO from level 1 onwards. There are no side kicks as players.

You mr. Grunch are probably one of them Galaxies "veterans" who want this to be another SWG. You will only find disappointment in this game and would be wise to stay away in all honesty. If you can't handle the hero boots, don't wear them.

Honestly, what do you expect from a Themepark game? It is always quite linear and the quests are there to be done and you are always in the middle of the action in the quests...
